This ring stores spells cast into it, holding them until the attuned wearer uses them. The ring can store up to 5 levels worth of spells at a time. When found, it contains 1d6 − 1 levels of stored spells chosen by the GM.
Any creature can cast a spell of 1st through 5th level into the ring by touching the ring as the spell is cast. The spell has no effect, other than to be stored in the ring. If the ring can't hold the spell, the spell is expended without effect. The level of the slot used to cast the spell determines how much space it uses.
While wearing this ring, you can cast any spell stored in it. The spell uses the slot level, spell save DC, spell attack bonus, and spellcasting ability of the original caster, but is otherwise treated as if you cast the spell. The spell cast from the ring is no longer stored in it, freeing up space.
Unfortunately, this means the Ring can hold one 5th level spell, a 2nd & 3rd level spell, 5 - 1st level spells, etc. Are there any home-brewed small containers (pouches, cases, vials, rings) to store over more than 5 spells?
As a way of gratitude, here are my own jokes about Halloween:
Black Magic or White Magic - which is witch? I don't think witches work in absolutes; from charcoal to ash, there are many gray areas. Perhaps we ought to rename the practice Monochromagic.
The Air Force is developing flying broomsticks for air defence. They call it Project SAM Witch.
Any speculation done on ghosts: Ethereal Theory
So many names for mysterious creatures...Ghosts, Poltergeists, Entities...UFO's, Aliens, Visitors...Bigfoot, Yeti, Sasquatch...Would these be Phenomenon de Plumes?
When apprentice witches struggle with new material they say, "This spell sure is diff-occult!"
How did I not realize he was Dr. Frankenstein?! The science were obvious!
Ice Cream makers created rainbow-colored vanilla flavor, and called it Superman. Color it lizard green and name it Godzanilla.
Zombies turn to ashes in crematoriums. Do child zombies get thrown into Cookies & Crematoriums?
The question I happened upon asked: "If you suddenly became a millionaire, do you feel you'd have to take care of your *whole* family?" I replied, "No...I love my family too much to hire an assassin." Whoever the author was, told me I won.
1. What is a recently deceased wolf? A Were Wolf
2. What is an invisible wolf? A Where Wolf
3. If wolf fur became fashionable: Wear Wolf
4. But I think the only critters who'd want to Wear Wolf would be sheep, for camouflage.
5. Wouldn't that make them Sheep in Wolf's Clothing?
6. Umm, at least that's what I've herd...

Thanks for playing along, and I hope nobody's rude to you.
The Ring of Spell Storing does not function as a container. There is no way to homebrew containers but you can add an existing container on your sheet and customise the name and capacity.
