I built a weapon in my game that I can wind up, send out a certain distance and it will explode but I can't find a way to make it homebrew since it is not magical, but the only homebrew option is a magic item. If anyone has some advice to get my idea made, I would greatly appreciate it.

Just use the magic item creator and be clear in the text description it is not a magic item. It's for your game, so it's not something you should be sharing publicly, and you can just tell the players it's not magic.

When viewing and adding in the inventory it will show up like any other item. 

Alternatively, if it's only for one player that player can just make the item directly on the sheet as a custom item with a custom action.
