Is it possible to change a sub-race's size to a different size than the parent race? I'm currently doing a race which has sub-races living all-round the world and I would like to make the sub-race which lives in the arctic a size larger, since in the real world some mammals tended to be larger in the north during for an example the Ice age. I thought this would really make this sub-race stand out from their brothers and sisters.
This seems like a pattern I'm seeing. Top down authority. Parent race imposes size on sub race as opposed to sub race can be any size but is given an auto default by its parent. I think the latter is better architecture and design. It's more fluid and allows for more ad hoc customization. The sub component should be independent of the parent and the parent can extend/drive what the sub component does.
Thanks for clarifying. I wish it was like kreakdude says, since it gives creators more freedom and players more customization. But since the functionality to change a sub-races size does not exist, I'll simply just have to write that they are sturdier and generally larger than their southern cousins and let the player decide.

That's not something that's possible with the homebrew system currently - subraces and variants must be the same size as the parent/main race.
