So I am working on a homebrew subclass for the rogue that gains a warlocks pact magic but when testing I noticed it gets the third caster spell slots that regen on short rests, not sure if I am doing something wrong or just that the functionality is not working for homebrew spellcasting yet?

Just utilize the Blood Hunter- Order of the profane soul, Pact magic progression Table. Both subclasses come online at level 3 so it wouldn't need to be messed with.

I'm confused, pact magic regains spell slots after a short rest. Is it the amount of spells?

Ya it keeps following the progression of a 1/3 caster so they end up with to many spell slots and spread over levels 1-4
