Hey guys, as there is no option to add the extended pact spells for a warlock to a character sheet (if is please tell.me how) I have created a homebrew wondrous item and just added the 2 spells (sleep and faerie fire) but when I come to use it it says I can cast at will but I know that's not the case. How could I set it to make me 'cast' a spell rather than having it 'at will

Once you have selected your pact, you should see these spell options when you go to manage your spells, as options for spells you may choose to learn.
We may be able to help better if you supply a link to your character, so we can see if anything there would be preventing you from learning those spells.
Here is a link to the character, it may have something to do with a cleric multiclass but is it also possible to look at how is create the homebrew item, just in case?
We can't view that link, you need to go to the character sheet and click on share from the drop down menu.
But how familiar are you with warlock expanded spells? Expanded spells are not automatically prepared like cleric spells, rather, you can learn them like any other spell even though they are not part of the warlock's main spell list.

Ahh maybe that's where I am going wrong then? I had thought that they were always 'prepared' like others in a similar vein (like additional domain spells) and they weren't just 'additional' spells that you could learn if you wanted to.
Yes, that's probably it. If you look at your spells, you should see that you can learn faerie fire and sleep. If you're still having issues, post in the Bugs and Support forum.

Here is the appropriate link (ignore health as I haven't set him up correctly him this for that) also ignore backstory etc.. as he is essentially a composite character of several mighty 9 members from Critical Role.
Yep, that would be precisely it. Warlock expansions add to possible spells, not known spells. You currently have 3/3 known Warlock spells, so if you wanted to learn Sleep (I see Faerie fire is already learned) you would have to swap it for a different 1st level spell.

The pact spells should be added to spells you can learn, is it a homebrew subclass?

No not at all, for some reason I can't seem to add (or find where/how to add) the spells from my extended spell list.
The homebrew was just an item allowing me to cast those 2 spells as normal as a work around

I have also just build a warlock and the option to have the expanded spells doesn't seem to be there??

Thanks everyone! Also thanks for being so understanding helping to explain things clearly. This is a pretty awesome community.
