I would be okay with allowing it. I think theres room for multiple spells to be packaged as a set, especially in the case of ones having "lesser" and "greater" iterations. Since Miles picked the category, Ill let them have final say, though. If they dont respond by the 11th Ill just go ahead and add the spells as an entry

CONTESTANTS - please remember to vote 5 & 5 for your own submissions. It is going to be assumed that everyone who submitted a piece of homebrew has voted this way for their own entry, and 5 will be submitted from each of their scores to account for this (see the FAQ for more details).
These were some great options to vote on! Best of luck, everyone. Some of these were 5/5's.

Didn't have a good idea, but all the other ones were fun. Can't wait to see who wins, hopefully inspiration will strike on the next one.

I'm just your everyday dungeon master. Ignore that jar full of souls. And those bones in the corner are just props, don't worry. I'm definitely NOT a lich. Definitely.
Yes, I like beholders. Yes, I curated an exquisite personality for commoner #2864. Yes, my catchphrase is "are you sure?"
For future iterations of the competition, wanted to share a formatting idea. I know that recently we have struggled with updating contestants and such due to some bug or error with editing the main post. That being said, I do not seem to have any issue editing comments. Perhaps an easy workaround would be to keep the contestant list and voting link in the first response. That is to say, the judge makes the main post and then immediately comments a placeholder for the contestant list and voting.
That way its still on the front page and easy to find and you wouldn't need to rely on visiting a google doc to see who has submitted what thus far

Once again, with a total of 27, the winner is The Dare Devilby MilestoGo_24
Which would mean that I have apparently won the competition again. If anyone is interested in how the totals were calculated, I have a separate tab in the competitor's list google doc which outlines all of the calculations
I am not too eager to immediately act as judge again, so I am willing to cede the right to MilestoGo_24 or another runner up if they do not want to take the reins. I feel like the results were kinda skewed this time, as there were only four people who voted. That means that not even everyone who submitted an entry managed to vote on the poll. It feels as though participation has been down pretty significantly. While I love coming up with and sharing homebrew, it feels like this competition is on its last legs.

I feel the same. I just don't know what we should do: give it a send-off, try to revitalize with new techniques, or just keep on as we've been and hope for the best?

It’s gotten stale. Rules bloat is real, nobody wants to judge, and there’s little incentive to give feedback or vote honestly. Also, presenting a quality brew is a lot of work for not much payoff—judging feels like a punishment, and the feedback is rarely all that useful. The rounds also drag on, so if you don’t like a theme you’re boxed out for over a month. Throw in the occasional pettiness and sore losership, and it’s no wonder people lose interest.
Probably best to just let this go, and maybe start fresh sometime in the future with a more informal structure. I like the idea of rounds lasting a week with a single theme and no competition elements at all, but I really shouldn't have a say as I've not been active in a while.

This idea is truly wonderful. maybe, instead of voting on a winner to pick a theme, we vote directly on a theme. or, for example, anybody can suggest a theme, and we select randomly. I feel like a less competitive version of this would be great.

Maybe everyone who participates in the current theme gets the opportunity to also suggest the next theme, which is then voted on at the end. That way, it encourages people to engage with the latest theme if they want a chance of influencing the next entry
