This is a very interesting supplement for 5e helps me fill in a lot of blanks for trying to figure out how to run a game like this. The only thing I am confused about is in “Ability Scores”. The pdf says that all humans use a base score of 10 then add their ability rolls. What die or dice should be used for the ability roll if you are adding it onto the base 10?
I just downloaded this today, and other than Body Types (p.20) adding or subtracting stats, there does not appear to be anything written about modifying stats.
Hobbies and Backgrounds don't change stats (like they would in Palladium's system, for example), only skill proficiency.
Ability Rolls is clearly absent from both the Players Guide and the Game Master's Guide.
This could be house-ruled a number of ways:
Roll 1d6, add that many points to your stats; max of 2 per stat
Roll 3d6 and compare it to a stat. If you have exceeded the current number, increase the stat by 1. Keep rolling per stat until you fail (lengthy, but could be fun).
Ok doubt I'll get a response in time (love your work; using it this weekend, but have a question). Under ability scores/character creation it says:
Ability Scores: All scores are defaulted to 10(+0). Then add your ability rolls. You can assign these numbers to which ever ability you’d like.
According to 5e rules, roll 6 d6 and take the highest 3. Soooo....on a really lucky role someone could have 28 on an ability? 6x3+10? Please more on this.
Edit - apparently I'm not the first one with a similar question. Just gonna scrap base 10 for normal rolls
Hello D&D Beyond, My name is Jay, and for the past three months I have been crafting an entire homebrew RPG game. It uses the core rules of Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition, but is also entirely different. It is designed to be a modern day zombie apocalypse. It is complete with sets of Classes (Now called backgrounds), Backgrounds (Now called altered to be Hobbies), and Body Types, each with their own set of statistics, and all designed for creating a modern day character. I have also designed core rules, items, weapons, NPC's and much more. Although It is not yet complete, I do have a fully finished Character Sheet, and a nearly finished Player Guide and GM's Guide. I also threw in a starter campaign in case anyone would like to play through my game. I am hoping community help can get my project more well recognized and assist me in fixing bugs and such.
Awesome material! Thanks for taking the time to improve all our lives!!! However I cannot find a link or locate where the starter campaign is. Would love to run it with the crew.
