So I was wondering, what exactly do Gods do in their downtime. Do they just wait around for people to worship them? I'm under the notion that if they were to physically manifest on the material plane, they would warp reality and the other gods would not take kindly to that. So what is the fun in being a God?
The homebrew forum might not be the place to get answers to this question, the story and lore forum might be more informative.
While the gods might not manifest all their divine essence on the prime material plane, they have been known to manifest in lesser forms. Neglecting the PMP, there’s still 13 outer planes and the astral plane for gods to wander about on. The outer planes are indeed infinite in all dimensions, including time, so a god could in theory always find new and exciting things while never leaving their plane of existence.
Some gods might manage the afterlives of their followers, continuing their complicated goals on the PMP, or scheming against each other.
