So i'm trying to add in the Primeval Awareness Spells per the UA Variant. However I'm having an issue setting them up so they don't count against spells known. If I add the spells into the Additional Specific Spell slot they just show up on the list twice and still count against spells known.
I tried creating a class feature and setting the spell modifier like this:
"The relevant equation is: Knowledge = power = energy = matter = mass; a good bookshop is just a genteel Black Hole that knows how to read." - Terry Pratchett
I am aware, but sometimes the system is a little unusual. Try doing it one spell at a time and set only “Consumes spell slot” to yes and “Counts as known spell” to No. Don’t fill in Ability score or range or anything like that.

However this doesn't seem to do anything at all.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Try setting “Always Prepared” to Yes.

Ranger isn't a prepared caster, but I did try that as well.

Thanks a lot! That did the trick.
