About 40ft above in the darkness, hanging from the roof of the cave, you see four of the bat-like creatures that Artemis saw earlier. They seem awake and alert.
"…Everyone, look at what I am looking at. About 40ft above. They are there and not happy." Says Lucy who is still holding bow and arrow. "Find some track of Orcs. If there is none. Maybe we should go back up stairs."

"Maybe if we back up the stairs some, they will follow us, just don't turn your backs on them." Sila whispers urgently not wishing to throw her daggers straight up as they tend to come back down.
Not wishing to be surprised by them later, she looks for an opportunity to attack should the others follow her lead. Initiative 22
Given the first opportunity she will throw one of her surplus javelins at one Attack 16 Damage 8 then using an unarmed strike should one get close enough Attack 14 Damage 5
@DM
Unarmed as bonus action. Javelin is listed as a 'martial arts' weapon - so I think its a 'monk' weapon? If not, and I haven't seen rolls yet - will use Dodge action utilizing a ki point if necessary.
Deciding on Javelin as daggers may be hard to retrieve in such a large area.
Silahurls her javelin upwards at the stirgesand pierces one straight through its body; the creature dies with a squawk and drops to the ground nearby. The remaining three stirgesdrop from the ceiling towards you
(Sila, I only processed the javelin as it was a surprise attack. We will now roll initiative and you can use unarmed as a bonus alongside a javelin if you wish)
Stirgeinitiative: 8
(I'm not going too use a map right now as you are close together and the stirges are descending vertically; I may use a map if any actions or movement make it appropriate to do so)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Sila's initiative 19
On her turn she will throw another Javelin - Attack 19 Damage 9 piercing damage. For BA she will use unarmed against a Stirge that gets close enough. - Attack 18 Damage 6 . "Take at look at their faces, its like a large mosquito..."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Lucy Initiative:12
Artemis Initiative:7
"I can't believe that there is something as ugly as my familiar's bottom! Your face hurts my eyes!" Lucy didn't complain about Sila's sudden attack. She is eager to use her new bow and these strange creatures are fine targets.
Feeling she(or her bottom) was extremely offended, Artemis the owl decides to pass this battle. She will rest on the stone stairs until there is another order from her master.
(Lucy and Bree also have same DEX score, so their actions will be processed in the order that they post)
Garavant, lacking a ranged option, holds his action (melee attack) until an enemy comes within melee range.
Lucy’s arrow flies wide and clatters somewhere in the darkness. A disappointing result, and yet... (Lucy see spoiler at end)
Breelaunches a fire bolt at one of the diving stirges Attack: 6 Damage: 9
The fire bolt flies wide in the darkness, possibly as she struggles adjusting to the lighting conditions (is Bree still using her Light cantrip?)
The three remaining stirgescontinue their descent and reach the party, at which point Garavant lunges forward like a coiled spring being released and tries to skewer one of the leathery attackers with his rapier Attack: 17 Damage: 6 plus 4 for sneak attack (adjacent ally)
The tiny creature emits a single squawk as the needle-like blade goes straight through it, protruding a good foot the other side. Garavant flicks the blade with a flourish and the deceased bat/mosquito monstrosity spins across the chamber to land wetly in the darkness.
The two remaining stirges make their attacks (targets randomised OOC):
Attack on Lucy Attack: 20 Damage: 6
Attack on Bree Attack: 6 Damage: 7
In addition to the damage inflicted on Lucy, the stirgeattaches its mouth to her, clamping on and proceeding to drain her (effects will be described on stirge's next turn, anyone can spend an action to try to remove it).
Breemanages to dodge the attempt from her attacker and it flaps in mid-air in front of her, preparing another strike.
The buzzing sound that you have come to associate with the stirges continues to grow louder, and you realize with horror that it is not just the creatures dropping towards you; a larger flock emerges from the top of the stairs that you descended to reach this chamber. Flying at full speed, they almost reach you.
@Lucy:
The bow is remarkable indeed; it is a magical +1 longbow, please add to your character sheet
(@Everyone: Still not using a map as there a bunch of targets at a variety of ranges now; you have the option of melee or ranged attacks, or any other options you can think of)
You estimate around eight stirgesin total now, and your experience so far suggests that all but the weakest of hits will be sufficient to fell one.

((OOC: So, in case I can retroactively take action in the last round, Garavant actually has a couple of javelins he took from the orcs back on April 12. I forgot to add to character sheet, though. I will add rolls for last round for that. Use them or don't as you please. Then I'll do melee this round.))
Unused to tossing javelins or spears of any kind, Garavant hopes his generally decent aim will be true as he flings one of the orc's weapons at one of the flying nasties. Attack: 12 Damage: 2
-------
The half-elf closes in on one of the bloodsuckers, trying to strike one already occupied by one of his comrades, of find a straggler off by itself. He feints, unsure of how susceptible a primitive beast like this may be to deception, then tries to skewer the big bug with his rapier.
((OOC: Sneak attack via adjacent ally or via Rakish Audacity if it's by itself)) Attack: 20 Damage: 5 Sneak Attack Damage 4
Sila, seeing the horrid thing embed its proboscis into Lucy, moves quickly to pull it off of her. She then tries to keep a grip on it with her left hand and hit it with her right as a bonus attack. Attack 12 Damage 4 ; Adding athletics8 check in case you need check for grip. (used Athletics - used for holding onto things/strength rather than dex)
In a flash of a second, Lucy drops the longbow. Her hand and tongue move at incredible speed. A transparent shield appears in front of her and stops the needle like mouth of the disgusting creature.
(Reaction: Lucy's armor class Mage Armor:16+ Shield 5=21)
Is Lucy afraid? No. Not at all. Driven by a frenzy rage, howling like a crazy beast, the Bladesinger thrusts her arm toward the approaching flock. Four Magical darts each as bright as her red hot angry shoot from Lucy's fingertips.
(Use Level 2 Slot to cast Magic Missile. Aim at different target.)
Waiting for them to get close enough for her to use Both Action and Bonus unarmed. I can re-roll, but since I'd already rolled the unarmed, didn't. If the timing doesn't work out for one approaching and one near enough for unarmed - she'll use javelin attack as melee and another unarmed if possible. Down to one Javelin.
Seeing that Lucy can definitely handle herself, she waits until one is within 30' and another close enough for unarmed then launches another Javelin at one Attack 21 Damage 7 and at another an unarmed attack as above.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Silalances out her javelin and stabs a stirge through the mouth; the point emerges from the creature’s tail and it stays stuck at the first foot of the weapon. The monk’s follow-up strike to a neighbouring stirge doesn’t get enough force behind it and the target flaps aside to avoide taking any damage.
Garavant'sjavelin falls short; in fairness it was a tricky shot to throw upwards with an unfamiliar weapon.
His up-close work is where the magic happens though; another stirgeis well skewered without even seeing the half-elf sneak up on it.
Bree’s dagger flashes in the dark and wounds the stirge in front of her. As it turns to flap away she manages to swing out again and drives the short blade into the beast from above; the body gets stuck to her blade and has to be pulled away.
Lucy resumes her battle stance after magically deflecting the stirge’s attack, and her arcane volley proves to be apocalyptic for the flock of fragile parasites; four burst apart in a spray of pink mist and a collection of squeaks.
The last remaining stirge(!) attacks Lucy (chosen at random) Attack: 21 Damage: 4
Rolling initiative order: Sila 19, Garavant 15, Lucy & Bree 13, Stirges 8
Sila seeing another Stirge close by spears at it with the javelin. Attack 18 Damage 5Missing her attempt she follows this up with an unarmed strike Attack 24 Damage 7
She looks around quickly to see if there are any more of the little beasts around, then proceeds to gather up the myriad of javelins she's thrown about. She'll move swiftly, even a little distance from the group to gather them. They proved useful. (is she able to retrieve them all?) She stacks them into her pack again, fanning them slightly. "Help yourself if you need more," She says smiling at Garavant and holding one up as she says it.
She reaches into another section of her gear and pulls out a handful of 5 darts, and passes them to Bree. "If you want, these might be good back up for your dagger, especially if we run into more of the little buggers."
Nodding to Lucy, "I agree with you though, clear the top level first before heading down this way. Looks like it goes on a bit. You mentioned an Ogre or something?"
