"This is no mere prank," says Vansic. "It will cost him more than his pride and, by the end of it, we will all have a share of Dron's fortune. To answer some of your concerns, we will do this however we must, but most likely it will be with magic. I have a few others to introduce to you and they will share their ideas on that. This will require some...spectacle to pull off properly. Dron and all of Foxshadow will need to know something is coming. It will need to happen publicly. It will need to result in his humiliation and loss of trust in his station. It may even result in his banishment from this town, if not his arrest. Everyone will play a part to make this happen but we have some prep work to do first."
Vansic rubs his scar and grabs another olive. "Our backer wants someone on the team. We have three choices. I have some of our magic users out scouting one of them right now. It will be up to you to scout out the other two to see how they will fit the group. The first is a half-elf by the name of Rixton Pendrift. He runs a small shop at 33 Butcher Street. The second is a goliath named Ironwall. He works at a smithy across the river on Black Street. You won't be able to miss him. Divide yourself up as you see fit. Don't give the game away but determine who we can trust and whether or not they have skills we can use."
Barley Bokes heads with the late night traffic, which is generally heading towards Pearl Bridge and the wealthier part of the city. He stays to the main thoroughfares, first heading east through the Old District and then south towards Pearl Bridge and the Pearl Bridge District beyond.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Savra turns to David, prior to heading off after him. "Let us split up and follow him separately." She suggests. "If he spots one of us, he might not spot us both." With that said she moves away and out of sight.
A moment later a little halfling pickpocket named Vin strolls down the street, following his prey. he has dirty brown hair, brown eyes, and wears clothing likely found in a garbage bin somewhere. He moves fertively along, keeping the quarry in sight, but staying in the shadows as much as he can.
Tug muses Sharv and me are already friends, but probably ought to split up, provide a bit of punch and stealth to each team - I'm sneakier than you'd guess (and if you think about it, you've heard no clanking from the half-plate he's wearing) So y'all wanna make your selections? he asks the mage-y types And as for which to which, I guess no goliath smith is going to be impressed by me, and might be competitive even, so I should visit Mr Rixton's. Sharvon has experience sizing up folks from below, am I right?
((Anyone makes a team choice, Tug will go along with whoever to Butcher street - or if someone expresses better plan he won't argue))

"Just to be clear" Sharvon's manner has gone all business, "what exactly are we sizeing these two up for? We need to have at least a basic idea of how we are pulling off this scheme. Do we want the goliath for his musscle, or for him to build something for us? Will he be at the heist, or not? One of the best street tricks you ever learn is misdirection, I feel you are asking us to do this heist, in public with the town knowing as a distraction to keep the dons eyes on us and not your silent partners. We need some details please."
Vansic nods. "The plan is still coming together, so for now just determine how useful they might be to our burgeoning plan. What will they bring to the table. And whether or not we can trust them."
Sharvon shrugs, and with a devil may care attitude he says "sure thing. Looks like I got a Smith to stake out. To be clear am I look for how trust worth he is with out applied pressure, or ways to apply pressure?" He shrugs again and answers his own question "probably both."
"No pressure. We need to trust each other implicitly. If you don't think these people will give us that, then we will keep them at arm's length. We need one of these three, though. That's the deal if we are going to do this."
Tug nods at Sharvon, holds a finger up to Vansic and addresses just the other new recruits telepathically It is disappointing he doesn't have more guidance, but in a way this gives us more control - we'll be deciding what matters, not him. Hard thing is we'll be three crews - and one of them we ain't met yet - doing three investigations. Not much like holding these three whoevers side-by-each. So let's all keep open minds on these three until we compare notes after, okay? then out loud Since we are going separate, any of you people persons got a suggestion for common questions?

"I didn't," Vansic says with a shrug. "These were chosen by our backer. This person does not know any of your. Our backer wants someone trustworthy to them about our operation."
I get picked, and you're the leftover Tug ribs Shar Yet another contest I win I guess, then to W as they head to 33 Butcher Street My pleasure, Wilfer, let's find what this Rixton Pendrift can do for us. Come to think it, what can you? I like to fight close, punch, grapple, use brain-power as an add-on. I can lift things with and without touching them. I'm sneaky...

"Picking the job, and getting picked for the job are two different things Tug," Sharvon laughs. "Watch your back Tug." Sharvon claps his friend on the back. "Good luck Wilfer."
Turning to the other half elf, "So looks like its me and you."
David nods agreement with Savra, but before he can suggest he might change his appearance now, she darts off into the flow of people. Loosing sight of her and not wanting her to be unable to find him later, David decides to keep his current appearance and continues to follow their quarry.
Wilfer listens carefully as Tug discusses his skills, but responds slowly, "I've always had magic in my blood, but it was recently corrupted by my brief sojourn to the Shadowfell. As a result, most of my abilities are related to the ability to cloud the minds and eyes of others. Sometimes even to make you forget your own limitations and allow you to push yourself further than you might otherwise go."

Tug moves to pat Wilfer on the back but stops and drops his arm back to his side. What do you say for "magic blood corruption"? Neither "gesundheit" nor "congratulations" fit, so after a brief loss for words he settles on So you use it to humiliate Curty-boy I guess. Let's go
Tug and Wilfer continue to Butcher street with eyes out for being followed etc Perception12
Tug will defer to W as to approaching Pendrift. You want me to sneak around back, watch the door, stand and look menacing, be friendly?

Wilfer thinks for a moment, "To start with, why don't we go in as customers, and build from there. Threatening is not a good idea, but friendly may not be the best choice either. Perhaps bored?"
Butcher Street is somewhat well-to-do, as far as streets in Foxshadow go. It is not the wealthy part of town but it could be described as a comfortable neighborhood. Number 33 has a shingle hanging outside the door that simply reads, "Peculiarities Untangled". Shuttered windows bar visibility and do not display any products. There is no alley on either side of the shop, as it shares a wall on each side. One neighbor is a boarding house and the other is a baker, which is currently closed. It is after typical business hours but a light flickers through the shutter slats and an untuned, atonal lute sings through the closed, oak door.
Sharvon and Aravor:
Black Street is one of business. Leatherworkers, silversmiths, cobblers, candlemakers, book binders, and many other such businesses line the street. At the far end is a blacksmith shop. The fires are stoked, despite the hour, and large, sweating goliath bangs on a red-hot horseshoe. The sign hanging into the street reads "Dartyl Underrock, Licensed Blacksmith"
As Sharvon and Aravor recognize their destination, the goliath dips the hot horseshoe into a barrel of oil, casing flickering flames and acrid smoke to flutter off the surface.
Gin and David:
Barley walks under a street lamp, where he stops, bends down, and ties his shoe. He stands up and slowly turns around. "Why are you following me, halfling?" he says to the darkness.
He is looking almost directly into the shadows at Vin and nearly 90 degrees away from David.
Seeing the odd name of the mysterious shop, Tug silently tells Wilfer Same principle, but - "confused" - big dumb guy is an easy play for me
He enters the shop ahead of W so he can communicate what's inside, he'll look around trying to figure out what the shop is - not really an act, he actually is wondering. If the proprietor offers, Tug will ask What sort of pickles do ya untangle? Or is the name like poetic or whatever? See, stuff happened to my grampa I dunno why.
