"I can work out a performance if we go that route." Savra agrees with a nod. "Problem I see with that is that I will be given away in doing so. I'd have to become scarce, or disguise myself somehow, so not to be recognized. With all attention on me that will be difficult."
"Good idea tug. I am imagining a big crowd, and then we could throw a cloth over the new statue, turn off the S.E.P and one of us in disguise, could make a announcement." Sharvon leaps on a table raising his voice. "Ladies and gentlemen as a token of appreciation to the benefactor of this fine shin dig let me present the newly improved statue befitting our fair city! Pull the cloth off in front of all those people and then run like hell. Now that would be a statement." Sharvon laugh at the thought of the crowds reaction.
((there is no SEP field for this job, David needs this statue to make one. Probably also don't want to be that obvious, distraction from the caper, not part of the caper))

(Wait, now I'm confused, I thought they said this would be a good trial run for the SEP field. I may have misunderstood. So we will not have an avoidance field going during this, we need a distraction but we also might need a way to hide what we're doing in case someone comes along at the same time? Wilfur can help with the distraction, disguise self to hide his features and invisibility for himself and one other for the end of the performance, possibly including the reveal, just need to make sure we have a clear route. As for the other part, anyone have any ideas?)
"Hah, it's alright! There is a lot of new information to take in. Just so we are all on the same page."
Davidlooks at Vansic for confirmation as he outlines the details.
"First, we are all working together for the ultimate goal of getting our collective revenge on Dron, robbing him of both money and dignity. The long term plan is to steel his family crypt as the final humiliation."
"Secondly, we are being financed by a benefactor who wants us to include one of their trusted people in our group."
"Thirdly, as a test of our skills and to better get to know each other, we are going to steel and replace the founders statue. This will also net us an important component for my S.E.P. device, which will come in very useful for whatever method we finally workout, to steel the crypt."
"Now the device I am planning to make, is going to be a little on the larger size for device's I've constructed myself. I think I should be able to build the rest of it in and around the statue itself, so the final size will hopefully not be much more than 5ft by 5ft by 5-7ft tall. But with the statue and a sufficiently powerful power source, We should easily be able to generate a secondary field that will completely cover the device, the crypt and the garden beds immediately around the outside of crypt. And as I said before, it should keep anyone from finding it, even by accident, while we setup a magical ritual or start relocating the crypt brick by brick, whatever we end up doing."
"That about sum it up?"
Davidgoes back to the performance.
"So the performance idea, could we setup an impromptu "stage" and get everyone to watch, and as Tugsuggested, get some alcohol flowing? If we had a quick fold-out frame with a sheet as a backdrop, and we set it up in front of the statue, we could work the swap-around, a little more in secret behind the screen. And as for being spotted, I would strongly recommend any disguises and illusions we can make use of. You've seen my personal illusory second skin generator (or P.I.S.S for short) in action, so I'm good, but we would need other options for anyone else."
"I was thinking about a stage as well. We could use it to block the view of the statue. So while we cause our distraction we can replace the statue right under everyone's noses. Then as our grand finaly poof!"as he says poof Sharvon snaps his fingers and a illusion of a small explosion happens , " we unveil the new statue. As a side note we could leak a name or two to the crowd of some of Dron's under bosses paid for the event so he might spend time looking into his own people?"
I think the problem with unveiling is that the distraction is not a distraction anymore, it's a precursor. Sure, people will figure out the show was a distraction for the crime eventually - but not the drunks and not right away. This is not the big stick-it-to-Curtis moment yet. If the show finishes and we casually depart, then in the morning the statue gets noticed - maybe some are saying "hey wasn't there something happening last night?" but there are foggy memories, and the folks that see a changed statue in the AM are not the same as the ones that saw the show the night before

Sharvon shrugs, "you know me Tug, if I am going to go big, I go big. But if I am going small, then I want to go very small. Which makes me think, what if we do the switch very late at night, or guess early early morning, and instead of doing a performance we make a large diversion and draw any guard away? Like a very fast thief trying to break into a building but say makeing too much noise and have to run for it, near the statue plaza?"
"As to replacing the statue, Tug you can make the old statue teleport to a wagon correct? What if the new statue was in a few pieces? David could you use some sorta spell to recombine it? Make it so it could be snuck in piece by piece? "
Not teleport, telekinesis Tug answers I can do a few moves per day - that means not doing something else. Remember how sometimes it feels like getting punched by me is much worse than getting punched? Or punching me just don't work? It's a trade off what I do, and moving big stuff is part of it. But a few pieces, yeah, no problemo. Only it ain't invisible, folk could see a floating monument if'n they're payin' attention. So why I was warming up to the distraction.

Wilfer listens to the explanation and ideas carefully before adding his own in, "I understand now. I definitely think the idea of setting up a stage in front of the statue is a very bad one. First, you'd have to make it a very big sheet so no one could see around it, and second because after the reveal, we are now smack in the middle of a crowd of people trying to get out, at least some of whom might be personally or financially invested in our capture. Depending on how long it would take you to do the switch itself, we could simply drive the wagon past slowly, covered in a small illusion which I should be able to manage (OOC: we did say minor illusion would cover it right?). As we pass, simply make the switch and keep right on rolling past, give no sign that anything was amiss. We would have to scout the area ahead of time and verify a lack of guards or other witnesses at whatever time we decide to do this. A clumsy thief is a possibility, but even a concerned citizen asking for help would work as well. I am liking the idea of associating the event with Dron's associates, though. Perhaps a small gossip campaign about a special even they're planning for the morning after the swap? Promise free beer and such on behalf of Dron's associates. Then, we get both the extra humiliation that the people knew something was going to happen, and yet he did nothing, as well as directing his ire at his own people rather than looking for us. Does anyone have any improvements or alternatives?"
Sharvon rubs his jaw, remembering how hard Tug can hit. "Good think I can strike so many time against your mental shield." Sharvon says his hands rapidly striking the air followed by a quick snap kick. "In all seriousness I am liking the plan. If any guards do get to close, I can easily distract and lead them on a hell of a chase."
I can be of aid in the distraction as well." Savra says. "I have a good deal of practice keeping people's attention where I want it, so it should be fairly easy to keep eyes off of the statue long enough for you others to switch them out."
Yes, Sharv's moves can be quite distracting Tug says rubbing his left elbow and right ribcage, which somehow got kicked at the same time
SO it sounds - late evening, drunks about but not many, distraction on the opposite side of the square rather than stage show and reveal? Savra performing, with Sharvon and Aravor on hand to provide added distraction or enchantment or a swift kick if the wrong attention is paid? The distraction team all disguised. And when I move the genuine away, Wilfer illusions a duplicate in place, and then I move the gag version right into the illusion. David secures the genuine and makes sure it will work in building the SEP-to-doohickey. David and I are ready if the movers have to fight our way out, worst comes to worse, and Sharv is security for the distractors

Sharvon's face lights up with a wide grin." Damn, almost sounds like we got a plan! I am going to head to the plaza, might be a good idea to look around and make sure we don't over look anything. Any one care to join?" Sharvon will start heading towards the door.
Just casing, right? Tug checks Not sure how long to get the gag sculpture and a cart that'd hold both. But I could use to spot where the rigging and lading will happen
Probably not have all of us case the square at once, but in small groups? Tug'd go with Sharvon, we've been commonly seen together anyways so wouldn't raise an eyebrow walking through the square

(Sorry was catching up on all the posts, and missed the one where David said we won't have the device. Just read it.)
"Well snap, sorry got so lost in my thoughts I forgot we wont have your fancy device David."
