Bowing Iarakir looks around. As Sean finishes speaking he adds “It would seem that what ever is happening you don’t know who to trust. I did not expect to meet the king with so few in attendance.”
The king smiles slightly. "So many other groups don't know simple manners. To answer your questions," he pauses after realizing he doesn't know Sean's name. "I cannot reveal everything, as some details are reserved for the winners, but I'll tell you what I can. You see, we are holding a little competition. The winners get coin and prestige so long as they remain in my employment. Your job would include spying, acting as a diplomat, enforcing the laws, and anything else Wendlyn requires. And while there are few people here, I assure you, I am in no danger. Not while he is here." The king motions to the cloaked person. "There are spies everywhere, just as I am sure there are some within the castle," He eyes each of you for a minute before continuing. "But rest assured, I will find them." The message holds a threatening undertone, daring any of you to come to Varese with malicous intent. "Anyway, if you choose to compete, directions will be sent to your rooms. Should you pass the first trial, we will meet again and I will be able to reveal more. If you choose to leave the castle, you may do so; you are not prisoners here. Are there any other questions?"
"I... See" Sean says as he inspects the hooded figure, then continues"It'll be an honor to prove my self useful." He raises and giving one last bow before excusing himself out.
“It was a honor to meet you, your highness.” I say with one final bow, and follow Sean out. I look at the ground, uneasy if my presentation or wording was good enough.
The king nods at you as you leave. When you exit, Caden, the guard from earlier, says, "I'll take you to your rooms then, if you're planning to stay. If not, I'm to lead you out." He seems to stick closely to Beth, as she was the nicest to him earlier.
"I have sworn my loyalty to... The king" Sean says looking into the distance, then sighs. "Look... if this will help others, I'll happily assist in whatever I can. For the people!" (probably way to big a proclamation for this, but he is a little intense and melodramatic)
Caden nods, and leads you to a set of rooms. There are two adjoining rooms with two beds each, each state-of-the-art and lavishly decorated. Once you are inside, Caden speaks. "Er-you have two options for your test. You either are supposed to bring in a woman in her twenties or a boy who's 11. Your choice; I'll give you one of the two files. Your task will be to capture them... er, with non-lethal force. They are nobles of the castle who agreed to help, after all. Deliver them to the throne room. You may begin tomorrow. Oh, and if the noble doesn't recognize you, I believe you get bonus points, just as you get more points the quicker you capture your target. Again, non-lethal, please. Erm-don't kill anyone." With that, he stands there waiting for your answer. It seems you'll have to choose your target before you see the file.
"I don't have qualms with whom we choose, and non Lethal subduing may be within the realm of my skills, but..." turns to the their guide and smirks. "bringing someone without Lethal force is understandable but, without being recognized? What does that even mean? Rookie, are you sure you brought the right presentation card? Leave it to the rookie to mess even simple tasks" Sean says, obviously teasing the poor kid.
“Ahh, leave off the kid. He didn’t make the rules. I for one would rather nab the kid. Smaller size makes for an easier grab. But either way.”
"perhaps I've been to hard on the guy" Sean turns to Caden, and while bowing he says. "I apologize for my past behavior, you were so nervous when we first met that I couldn't help but mess with you. It was never my intention to offend you, and for that I apologize!" after his way too grandiose apology Sean turns back to the team and says. "The kid is probably fine, both of them signed up for this, Right Caden?"

“No, your highness.” I say, bowing, and eying the hooded man.
“We look forward to the opportunity to prove ourselves your Majesty.”
"Queen Maeve would send more than a single warrior if she intended to destroy Varese. We mean you no harm. No further questions or comments."

Giving a final bow I follow the others out.

"I'll stay. It should be closer to my home than a tavern in the streets."

A shocked look her face, Beth says, “The 20 year old, I don’t feel comfortable capturing a child.”
