At the store, Zenodor will pick up some ball bearings and caltrops to take with him. When infiltrating a superior enemy force it seems like it might come in useful to have something that might make pursuit more difficult or at least slow down the opposition. If they have it there or at a nearby tavern on the way, he will also grab a couple of bottles of good solid beer and a bottle of wine - not necessarily to drink ourselves, but it seems the sort of item that could come in useful when bargaining with a bored guard at a gate or similar. Just trying to plan ahead.
Mignon picks up a couple of rations and some regular items (rope, sacks, oil etc.) and meets you all out front (when/if any of you make any purchases).
"All right, I'm ready when you are. We can leave by the North gate and get a start before nightfall."

Once you're all ready Mignon starts leading you to the North gate, being a large city it will take some minutes to arrive there. During the trek he will engage in small talk.
"So are you like 'hired heroes' or something that they employed to flood the sewers?"

"I wouldn't call us that. Firstly, we're just concerned citizens who got dragged into this when the Goblins attacked some outlying villages - and we just helped resettle those on a safe island far away from this trouble. But now we have returned to help with this unfinished business of the Goblins.
Secondly, no one pays us. I won't say that we have not benefitted from some loot we found along the way, but we certainly are not employed by the city.
But as you can see, this also leaves us much more flexibility as we're able to make use of unofficial helpers such as yourself." With this last sentence, Z gives him a wink.
The guards at the North gate ask a few questions but pass you all through as there are no goblins within sight outside the city at this time.
"We need to head North and follow along close to the coast." Mignon follows a well worn trail, not quite what you would call a road but close enough.

You'll definitely spot anything on the trail before Mignon, but he is familiar with the trail and the direction it takes.
After a few hours you come to a campsite and Mignon suggests stopping for the day as less than a hour of light remains and there are no good spots ahead.

Zenodor is happy to set up camp for the night. Irraxan, who had a break all day sitting on Z's shoulders, can take watch over night and periodically fly around and over the camp. Between that and the magical Sword of Warning, we should be safe from being ambushed or attacked
