Ceryl agrees to show Pepin their plans for the Scriptorium once he sees how interested you are and is willing to make you a partner in his endeavor.
"The best thing is that the educated are always willing to pay a small fee for the services of a Scriptorium so you'll be able to recoup your investment in a relatively short time."

"Well I know a lot of businesses have closed down recently but that can be attributed directly as a result of the Goblin Horde siege. Now that it's been dealt with Laurentiis' economy will bounce back and even more new businesses will open. Still it pays to be cautious so I suggest just the bare minimum to start, we can rent for a while at the beginning, just until we're turning a healthy profit, later on 'we' can share the expenses if we decide to buy and still later even do renovations if warranted."
"As you're seen from my plans I got everything pretty much covered except for the start-up costs."

Many buildings have become available due to the closure of several businesses, a half-collapsed warehouse near the docks can be salvaged to serve as a school with a sizeable field for sport and play. The actual gold is quite excessive, reaching several hundred thousand gp in value and due to your group's various charities and donations it actually helps offset the closing of many businesses to shore-up and stabilize the economy of Laurentiis.
Zenodor goes ahead setting up and Orphanage, School, and accomodation for the homeless. He tries to find an administrator/headmaster, matron, doctor/nurse and other staff. He will work with Pepin and his new Banker contacts to set up a charitable trust to run the whole thing for as long as possible. Excess monies will be invested to provide an income so that ideally it can be run indefinitely
Assuming Pepin sees it as a good business oppurtinity, he is willing to cover the start-up costs for a 50% split of the business.

Just for clarification purposes but these are three different things or some sort of all-in-one, and same question for the charitable trust?
@Pepin
Ceryl's plans check out and he is willing to be 50/50 partners in the Scriptorium.

Pepin agrees to the plan and talks to the bankers about a portion of his wealth to he situated in a separate account that Ceryl will also have access to. With this business done he'll start working on his house as well as getting back in touch with the rest of the party.

I was thinking one charity, but probably a complex of buildings. You'd want to house the orphaned children separately from the adults, and school should also be separate. But hopefully we can find a group of warehouses or barns near each other. But for admin, it'll be easier to just run it as one charity with only one set of overhead costs
The same wizard as before drops by to join Mynash and you all for breakfast on the day you are preparing to leave. He supplies a map that shows the relative location of the newly discovered, ancient elven temple. And offers this;
"I have made an arrangement with the elves who want to reclaim this temple. They will allow you to explore the temple and even provide a guide, of sorts. If there are any 'unwelcome visitors' they would appreciate your help in that matter and other than elvish religious texts and artifacts that originally belonged to the temple you are free to keep anything else you may find there, such as treasure or things that don't belong to the elves."
Having completed the arrangements for the charity and the other downtime activities, Zenodor arranges a meeting with Mynash and the Wizard. He (and the rest of the group?) meets with them to report that the temple is now cleansed and safe for the elves to reoccupy.
After he recounts the story of the temple, be continues:
"However, we found no traces of the Dracolich or its Phylactery. Have your researches revealed any further leads of who or what was behind all this?"
Pepin will of course make time to be at the meeting.

Your meeting with Mynash and the Wizard to report about the ancient elvish temple is somewhat brief on the Wizard's end as he claims his initial magical forays were blocked by powerful magic. He however is owed a few favors and will call them in to get as many of the tower wizards to combine their efforts to overcome the magics working to block their divinations. "When next we meet I will have answers for you."
Mynash is happy to see you again and appears quite pleased with all the good you've put your new found wealth towards.
"Oh my... oh well... Laurentiis seems to be rebounding and rebuilding quite quickly following the goblin siege. Oh dear... ah yes... with no small part due to your heroic actions over this time."
