“Bow, Randall… I think the spires are the way to go. But I’m afraid those fat cats might be a bit too disconnected from the people. I’ll follow your lead.” Petcan looks nervous staring up at them. Perhaps a bit of fear, as he looks at his dark Drow’s skin and the people around him who are so clearly not like him.

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
Unless you have a way to cast a spell undetected everyone present will know you cast something. Are you sure you want to do that?
(Choose and make a skill check to play the game. Describe how you use that skill to play the game and why or how you feel it is relevant.)

Rolo is quite good at this game but you feel like you could beat him more times than not.
(How much did you wager?)

"A little tip my friend. Never pick the middle one."
He scoops up the coins and seems quite pleased to win some gold.
"Care to try again. Come, come, don't be shy. I'll even give you odds if you win, 2 to 1. You can't do better than that. And to sweeten to the deal..."
He takes another ball out of a pocket and places it next to another shell.
"If you can find either of the balls, you win."

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"That's the spirit! Now you're getting the hang of it my friend."
He begins shifting the shells again, stopping and lifting the one everyone thought one of the balls was under, "Now it's not here so be fooled," he places the shell back down and picks up the other two showing where the balls are, "now keep your eyes on one of these and you'll soon be the owner of a heavy pouch of gold indeed."

Just then he looks up and down the street and sees some guards approaching from a distance. He quickly puts away the shells and says, "That's all for today folks. Time to be going or I'll end up late for where I need to be." And he ducks down the alley he was near.

He went down the alley with a movement speed of 25... you have 30 don't you?... you could even catch up if you wanted to?

He cuts through the alley to get to the next street over and begins walking north looking back occasionally. The second time he does so he spots you and seems surprised that you are following him. He quickens his pace and ducks behind some of the people walking along the side of the street.

(Make a Perception check if you want to try and keep your tail of him.)

(for attack rolls and saving throws, if you meet the number you hit or save... but for skill contests you have to beat the number)
Rolo gets lucky as he darts around some citizens milling about a storefront just as a small group of halflings exit the store. As you near the area the halfling you think is Rolo turns out to be someone else entirely. (You know those times when you see someone you think you recognize from the back and when you get to see them from the front it's actually a stranger.)

Bow will walk up to one of the richer looking merchants.
"Hello good sir, my name is Bow, and these are brother Randall and Petcan. We were wondering if we could take a bit of your time for some urgent matters?"

Yes, I’d like to play the way the game was originally intended, and use Perception to watch the ball, and the halfling’s hands
Perception: 13
Farewell.
"Place your bets and take your chances. Rolo's the name and mixing up shells is the game."
Rolo is quite good at this game but you feel like you could beat him more times than not.
(How much did you wager?)
We’ll say three gold, please.
Farewell.
Rolo looks a little concerned for a moment but fishes out 3 gold coins to match your bet.
"Left and right, then right and left, back again with the middle to the left and the right to the middle."
His hand motions are quite deft and quick, almost as quick as his banter.
Sleight of Hand: 19

Ceo, having a past with crooks, knows to be sceptical, but is still quite intrigued. He'll bite. Placing four gold on the counter he says;
"Eyes that are quick see that which is moving, but eyes that are careful see where it is going." Bardic Inspiration on self: 5
Then, as the Halfling moves around the cups says;
"Quick hands are a good trait, but rarely take the prize." Cutting words: 2 is taken off his Sleight of Hand check
Perception: 16
Farewell.

"Well there you go! That wasn't so hard was it?"
(You win 8 gold.)

Can I follow him?
Farewell.
He went down the alley with a movement speed of 25... you have 30 don't you?... you could even catch up if you wanted to?
Nah, I just wanna tail him, see where he goes first.
Farewell.

So uh… what now?
Farewell.
