After intense study over the course of another week, Robin manages to figure out the problem with the power core, but is unable to get it to fire up by the end of the week. Birdie tries to offer his help, but as it turns out, his expert knowledge of rigging and pulleys doesn't really apply to the internals of arcane automata.
(If nobody else has any downtime activities they want to do, I'll end downtime and skip ahead the two weeks.)
Life is very busy unfortunately, gone from most Pbp's indefinitely. If you'd like to contact me, I am on Discord at GreatAxeblade#7595, always happy to chat :)
Very well. After 2 weeks of training, your intimidation goes up by another +1.
Anyone else?

Gianna spends time being side social, present but not intrusive. Watching her crewmates build and tinker with things far outside her knowledge base. Always quick to lend a bandage in the course of random bumps and cuts.
Daily swims in the ocean keep her refreshed and she is ready to launch.

After spending two weeks working on your various preparations, the work on The Skipping Stone has finished, and it has had its hull, masts, and cabin fully ironclad. The dry dock opens, and the ship is released back out into the bay, ready to sail. The cannon is lying on the dock, ready to be installed onto one of your ships. (You never specified which ship you wanted it on, let me know. Remember, The Stone already has a ballista.) The foreman of the dock approaches Ceesh, and extends out a fairly small, but very heavy chest. Inside is sixteen quarter-pound ingots of platinum bullion, a small fortune.
"This here is the profits from the sale of the excess scrap from the Crimson battleships, minus the fee for the work, of course. I've never seen such a bounty of metal in my life, you have done us a great service, this is enough metal to rivet ships for a decade! Thank you, and may the gods bless you and your crew on your journey."
Your gear is loaded, the mage is still imprisoned belowdecks, and you are ready to set sail and give pursuit down the river!

YAY! And the Temptress has the Siren sound now right? Just checking. But if the Temptress has the siren, I vote Skipping Stone gets the cannon. If not, then yes, the Temptress will get the cannon.
The shipwrights were very busy with the plating of The Stone, and they never had the chance to finish it. They did salvage the foghorn cone from one of the ships, and made a metal box to hold the internals. The rest you must figure out yourself. The Temptress will have the cannon for now.

Cass says”mighty shiny blocks o platinum here. We’ll be sure to put that to good use! I be ready to set sail afore the grass grows around me feet- gots to get back to sea!”
“Birdie” asks the Captains, “Which ship can I be of best service aboard?”
He reminds them, “I’m proficient with Navigators Tools and a have a sharp eye for lookout in the crow’s nest. I’m also a pretty good aim for working the ballista or cannon.”
Assuming everyone is ready to set off, the two ships back out of the port and turn down the river. The river is hundreds of miles long, and you will be sailing against the current. Your destination is a two weeks' voyage upstream. Birdie and anyone else who wants to can serve as lookouts, making a daily Perception check to spy points of interest along the way. Those not looking out can prepare for upcoming fights, tinker on their several current projects (im lookin at you, Ceesh), or do their daily tasks of keeping the ship afloat during your river roadtrip. The river is straight and wide, with few rapids, so the journey will be quite easy from a sailing perspective. Enjoy your riverboat cruise!
(Writing this post, I realize I have never given you all the name of this central river. Henceforth, it will be called Lamason River, named after the [also previously unnamed] Otteran capitol city.)

Cassandra puts continual flame on her shield, with a removable cover. She spends the time preparing the ship and her gear for battle, and interrogating the prisoner.
Robin settles into the trip up river, unsure how it will go for her. She is not really a ship girl, more of a landlover to be honest. She spends a decent amount of time standing at the rail, watching the water and the land move by on either side of the ship.
(Arcana for the guardian, with advantage from Birdie helping, and a roll of bardic inspiration)
Arcana: 19 + 4
With Birdie's help, you finally manage to get the core to spark up. The red glow returns to its chest and it slowly and stiffly stands up. (who has the amulet again? I know someone has it.)
Lookouts: As you sail farther from the bay, you see the number of buildings dwindle and give way to a thick forest, with the occasional fishing shack dotted along the bank. Nothing worth stopping for.

“Birdie” will step forward, acting as if he built the thing himself. (With his additional ‘luck’, his modifiers jump all the way to +0)
His forehead furrows as he studies the guardian, not wanting to be perceived as if he was way out of his league.

Gianna stand near the bow enjoying the thrill of the ships passage. She's never traveled by boat before and this is quite interesting.

(Not sure which vessel “Birdie” has been assigned to. If it is on ‘The Stone’, he will help Captain Ceesh, if allowed, while he tinkers.)
Otherwise, he will be doing laps up and down the shrouds for the vantage point, and in between, keep the ship’s deck organized, clean and efficient.
