I am running two Campaigns as a DM at the moment. Icewind Dale and Lost Mines of Phandelver+++
Icewind Dale:
Make a lvl 2 character, using point buy. Based on your backstorry, you will gain a small bonus and i will roll for a secret for your character. If you played or started Icewind Dale before, tell me which quests you remember and we work it into your background. You start with basic equipment and 50 gold as well as heavy duty winter cloths and snowshoes. You may exchange some of your gold for other basic equipment.
Lost Mines:
Make a lvl 4 character by using point buy again, but for this you may add one extra feat. For gold and equipment we will roll together after i have choosen a candidate. If you have completed Lost Mines before, feel free to join, because the main quest is mostly finished and we are moving on other content.
Do not join if you have extended knowledge of Dragon of Icespire Peak.
Any questions, feel free to ask them here and we will work it out.
Q: Are you looking for one Player? A: If you want to apply for both you can, but chances are high i will select two different players. One for each Game.
Q: Any Restrictions A: While any Official Material (printed books) is allowed, Farune based ones will be easier to fit in and as such more likely to be picked. If you want to use Tashas, i will take an extra look.
Q: Any Needs? A: Not really. If you lack the skills to pick a lock with thief tools, you can always try to pick it with a crowbar or an axe.
Orifrac comes from one of the barbarian mountain tribes, where he was raised by his parents to be a stoneworker. He mastered the craft well, and soon become one of the better stoneworkers in his clan. However, he wanted more in life than just staying at his clan working stones; so after some time he left his clan to travel. Not long after he came upon the quarries of Red Larch. He never worked with Marble before so he found this to be an interesting next stop. for the next year he worked as an apprentice at one of the Marble master's of Red larch, and since a couple of months he is working on his own. Making statues from the marble and bringing them to some of the wealthy in both Waterdeep and Neverwinter. Coming into contact with a lot of people there.

Backstory: Even from a young age, Tuuli realized there was something oddly peculiar about her compared to the other wood elves of her clan. Tuuli often heard voices and whispers on the wind - voices she assumed had come from her fellow elves. Yet almost every time her fellows would deny having said anything, leaving Tuuli confused and worried. Eventually Tuuli was brought before the spiritual elders of her people, who gently suggested to her that she should take some time away from the clan - both to find answers for herself and to put the others of the clan at ease. Thus, Tuuli set out on her own spirit walk, guided by the whispers of the wind. Though she has spent many years traveling across her homeland, she has yet to fully understand why the wind speaks to her or even what it wants from her. What it has done is guided her here, to Icewind Dale. The whispering wind speaks to her of growing danger, a danger that threatens the worlds of nature and man alike. It is time for Tuuli to prove herself worthy.
Physical Description: Tuuli is a wood elf of slim build and lightly brown skin. Her dark, shoulder-length hair tends to flow behind her, as if always in a breeze. She often appears to be in deep thought, as though listening intently to everything around her. She holds a wooden staff gifted to her by her village elders and wears a suit of scale mail.
Potential Build: I'd like to go for the new Beast Master with the Primal Companion feature, mostly sticking to the Beast of the Sky - a hawk with Auran runes along its wingtips named Vanek. I'm also interested in using the Druidic Warrior feature for a more Wisdom-based ranger style.
I've DMed some of Icewind, but I'd like to be a player.
I have a changeling Rogue in mind, but if something else is needed, just let me know.
Race: Changeling
Name: Kree
Class: Rogue
Backstory: Kree was raised by his father as a bounty hunter after the death of his mother. But one thing that his father instilled in him is that they only take contracts for those that are bad, and if the mark results in being good, they drop the contract. This has served him well in his line of work as it has made him reputable. This line of work has, regretibly led him to Icewind Dale where he was tasked to eliminate someone who, turns out, didn't deserve it. So he cancelled the contract, but this left a sour taste in the mouth of the person who hired him, and they destroyed his way out. So now he is stuck in Icewind Dale, looking for a way out.
I'd be interested in Rime of the Frost Maiden. I never got past session zero the one time I've tried to play it due to the dm having to end the game due to sudden unforseen problems.
Name: Nalla "Star Reader" Ogolakanu
Race: Goliath
Class: Wizard (School of Divination)
Background: Hermit
Backstory: Nalla was born and raised in the tundra's of the far north, spending the early years of her life high above the mountains that made up the Spine of the World. While she was hardy like most of her kind, Nalla never had their strength or drive for competition. This led to her being mostly ostracized but allowed to stay since she could still perform the tasks given to her. Eventually though she was left to die when she could not keep up, stuck wandering on her own.
With no where to go she wandered through the mountains until she came upon a small but that looked to be just big enough to live in. While not as strong as other of her kin, the naive goliath though it would be easy to bully whoever lived there to give her the hut. Unfortunately for her the person that called the place home was a wizard. What she thought would be her getting her way ended up with her being made to work for the annoyed wizard in order to not be turned into a mouse.
For the next year and a half she was stuck doing menial tasks for the wizard who would continually remind her what would happen if she angered them. After the time had passed the wizard let her stay as she was useful even showing her magic simply to see if she could learn it. While she was not the fastest to show results eventually Nala was able to learn enough to reach the skills of an apprentice, showing interest in divination mafict or "Star Reading" as such skills were called among her own kind.
Eventually the wizard told her she had learned enough from them and to go out and find more knowledge on her own, handing her a spell book and a few other things to make her way. With no sense of direction of her own she was pointed to Ten Towns to start.
Backstory: (Leaving this intentionally vague so it doesn't accidentally conflict with anything from Icewind, never played it before.)
Joroden grew up in a small village working as a cleric in the church serving *Insert some evil-aligned god from the Icewind universe*, until one day, the town was overrun by orcs and he was captured. He was locked up in the orc camp for many days until a demon came to him in a dream and made a bargain with him. In return for the power to escape, Joroden would have to dedicate himself to the Fiend. Joroden gladly accepted, and used his new powers to escape the camp. However, Joroden's former god was furious at this and has sent his servants to torment Joroden, haunting him no matter how far he tries to escape them. Joroden came to Icewind after hearing rumors of great power there, hoping that it may finally be enough to ward off the spirits haunting him.
Life is very busy unfortunately, gone from most Pbp's indefinitely. If you'd like to contact me, I am on Discord at GreatAxeblade#7595, always happy to chat :)
I'm always wanting to play Lost Mines of Phandelver. But never ever succeeded in participating one! I'm definitely looking forward to joining your game.
Name: Zorgraxx the Short Tail
Race: dragonborn
Class: Paladin/Sorcerer
Background: Soldier
Backstory:
An old farmer couple found a baby dragonborn at their threshold. The hatchling still had the egg shell on his tail. The old couple who had lost children in harsh winter thought this was the gift from gods. They took the baby under their wing and raised him as their own child.
As a result, Zograxx became a fat, fun loving, easy going young man, unlike his fiercy primitive kins.
One day he was deeply wounded because he had fought a pack of wolves to save his friends. In a feverish dream, Zorgraxx feasted with an old wizard. They ate, drank and sang all night long. When morning came, the old man asked Zorgraxx if he was interested in taking a new job. In his extremely sleepy drunken head, the dragonborn said Yes! Then Zorgraxx woke up, found all his wounds had healed and……he became a paladin of Bahamut!
Longtime player and DM, new to play by post, would be interested in either but lost mines sounds interesting:
Character name: Eivre Monstroon V human arcana cleric 4
Background: sage (trained at candlekeep)
Appearance- a petite young human, attractive, with fair skin, black hair and green eyes. She doesn’t look like she belongs in the scale mail she wears- she looks like she should be in a library. She carries a staff and a shield- which burns with a continual flame and has a blue 8-point star symbol engraved into it. She also is clad in a thick blue hooded robe and carries a leather backpack.
rough backstory: Driven to pursue the secrets of arcane lore, Eivre is fascinated by magic in all of its forms. She seeks answers to explain what happened to her mentor, and perhaps find him again somewhere in the multiverse.
Ingram grew up a poor son of poor parents, panhandlers. His mother and father were both adventurers once upon a time, but - like most - they were injured horribly, and unable to continue their work, left to die in the gutters. As Ingram grew, they taught him everything they knew of adventuring work: including the basics of a talent they called “rune carving”. They’ve sent him out to an old ally who used to hire them for work in Ten Towns. Said ally has taken Ingram under his wing, outfitting him with gear and giving him a tip for getting started in a life that tore his parents bodies to pieces.
Merlo & Kira Raz were childless because Kira was barren. Many times she went to the temple to pray and offer sacrifices to Sune, the Goddess of Light and Beauty. Finally, in their old age, on the 17th day of the fourth month the Goddess Sune saw fit to bless Merlo & Kira with a daughter who they names Kala. They knew immediately that this was Sune's blessing for Kala bore the mark of Sune - beauty with bright red hair. At the age of two, Kala was brought to the temple as a gift to Sune - she was to become a priestess. She grew up and served at the temple and at the age of 16 she was dedicated as a priestess of Sune and received an amulet (a Hoy Symbol of protection) that she wears on her head and a tattoo or an ornate blooming flower on her right shoulder and arm as a symbol of this dedication. During her years of serving and training at the temple, Kala heard many stories of rare and wondrous magical artifacts of Sune. She was often instructed to look at everything to see if the god's were trying to speak to her through omens and possibly lead her on a quest to find or retrieve such an artifact. At the age of 19 these stories led to her desire to head out and join other adventurers in hopes of receiving such a quest and finding some of these artifacts.

Isacaar comes from a long line of Paladins. In an effort to follow in his father/grandfather/great-grandfather's footsteps, he became an acolyte in the temple of Ilmate at the age of 12. He is Hino Meliharsan, a Wood Elf Light Cleric from a shrine of Corellon Larethian in the Feywild. He was told he would find a calling on the material plane, so there he is now, having entered the plane somewhere in the Neverwinter Woods, and finding his way to Phandalin from there.
Oppleby Farwanderer Fabblestabble was never an ordinary forest gnome, if there ever was such a thing. The pranks of his brethren always lost on him as there was no logic in them. Socially awkward, Oppleby always cared more for facts than people and only took an academic interest in the small animals of the forest that flocked around him. Originally from The Great Dale, Oppleby wandered Faerûn and eventually ended up in Candlekeep, the towered library-fortress by the Sea of Swords. For years he was lost in it´s Great library reading about anything from baking recipies to ancient mysteries. During this time he took up artificing under the tutorship of Professor Maekkelferce, a Lantanna rock gnome expatriate. Oppleby, however, turned out to be a tad bit too creative with his inventions and after obliterating the Professors workshop for the third time he was sent really far away to Icewind dale on an "important mission" to catalogue everything there was to know about the natural phenomena that plagued the dale. Oppleby saw this as an opportunity to wander and to field test his inventions and maybe even to go on some adventuring while doing so. He was particularly proud of his new Blazooka which, although somewhat unreliable, functioned properly most of the time. Ten towns however was in for a brand new disaster.
Lost Mines of Phandelver (I'm currently DMing Icewind Dale)
Name: Gideon Blackburn Race: Human (Variant) Class: Fighter (Eldritch Knight) Background: Gideon Blackburn was born and raised in Cormyr. His life was a relative study of mediocrity. Growing up on a farm, he couldn't wait to get away from his overbearing mother and quietly judgmental father. As the second son, he was expected to join the military or the church. He was elated to leave the farm. He first tried the church of Lathander, but quickly found the droning of the priests to be incredibly tedious. So, he joined the famed Purple Dragons, his heart beating with patriotic zeal. But he soon learned the military was nothing like the tales of battle and glory that he had grown up on. It was a lot of sitting around, following by short periods of intense fear and panic. Unfortunately or fortunately--depending on how you looked at it--he was assigned as an assistant to the War Wizard Falthenaus. Falthenaus was an older, higher ranking wizard. Gideon initially thought this meant good prospects for his career, but he found out soon that what this meant was that Falthenaus spent most of his time in strategic and operational planning meetings, leaving Gideon to try to keep from falling asleep while standing guard outside.
Meanwhile, all of his peers from boot camp were getting experience on the battle field and gaining promotions--at least, those who weren't killed, but he didn't like to think about those friends. Nevertheless, one perk of serving Falthenaus was exposure to magic and some small skill therein. He even learned how to summon his own familiar, in order to keep himself entertained.
Eventually, Falthenaus retired and Gideon was offered a leave of absence while they considered what to do with him. Falthenaus encouraged him to head northwest to the Sword Coast, to prove his mettle in the meantime. Gideon leapt at the chance to finally prove himself in the field, away from the headquarters tent.
Sorcerer 1 (Shadow Magic)/Bard 3 (College of Spirits UA)
Entertainer
Actor (extra feat)
Chaotic Neutral
Sharzen has always been charismatic. Unfortunately, he learned at an early age that he could use his natural magnetism to manipulate others. When he began exhibiting innate magical abilities, he added these to his arsenal of manipulation. Sharzen is not evil by any means. He never manipulates to the point of truly harming anyone. No one needs a purse full of gold. When he saw the chance, he manipulated his way into Fochlucan in Silverymoon. His penchant for all things necrotic steered his attentions to those kinds of studies, worrying some teachers. Sharzen also fraternized with students in the School of Necromancy at the Conclave. After only a couple of years, Sharzen was kicked out decided he could learn more on his own. He has been traveling south from town to town, pulling "harmless" cons such as telling fortunes and committing minor larceny. He always tries to target those who can stand to lose a little rather than robbing from the poor. Sharzen believes strongly in the wisdom of spirits, has learned to contact them, and relies on them to guide his path. He believes only the strongest and wisest are able to escape the Hells to continue to exist on the material plane in comfort, therefore he is very scared of death (he doesn't believe he is strong or wise enough).
I would love to join you for Lost Mines. I've been wanting to try it and have heard good things about Dragon of Icespire Peak as well
Name - Nyla Winterbloom
Race - Eladrin Elf
Class - Fighter (Samurai)
Background - Knight of the Order
Backstory -
Nyla grew up as a ward of Helm in Helm's Hold. Raised to help others, Nyla spent her every bit of free time at the Venturer's Rest listening to stories from adventurers. Hero and Villains, Knights and Monsters, Nyla loved these stories. When the Hold fell under the control of devils, Nyla watched as her heroes rushed into the citadel and freed her home. One of them stood out to her, Javen Tarmikos. After the retaking of the hold, he spoke of Helm's symbol weeping tears of gold and of going out into the world to find and eradicate evil. Moved by his speeches, Nyla joined his new Order of the Gauntlet. Swearing to hunt down evil, she trained under his eye. Now, having trained under Javen for years, she is setting off on her own for the first time to hunt down evil and her title of Knight in the Order of the Gauntlet.
Nyla is still terrified of fiends and demons after seeing them take over her home. She is a bright and hopeful person most of the time and is always optimistic, although a bit naïve.

I'd like to join the Lost Mines game. Here's my character: https://ddb.ac/characters/48368294/VHXWkF
Hello!
Looking to get in to the Icewind Dale campaign if it's still open. Here's my character, Valsys the Wood Elven Monk. https://ddb.ac/characters/48376585/nIyUAs

Icewind dale application
Name: Oppleby Farwanderer Fabblestabble
Race: Forest Gnome
Class: Artificer
Background: Cloistered Scholar

Name: Gideon Blackburn
Race: Human (Variant)
Class: Fighter (Eldritch Knight)
Background: Gideon Blackburn was born and raised in Cormyr.

After only a couple of years, Sharzen
was kicked outdecided he could learn more on his own. He believes only the strongest and wisest are able to escape the Hells to continue to exist on the material plane in comfort, therefore he is very scared of death (he doesn't believe he is strong or wise enough).I would love to join you for Lost Mines.
