OOC OK, but how does she know it is a Voyager Staff and how many charges are left? She would know it is a magical staff and can cast Passwall but that would be it. There are no visible changes when the charges are expended. Only the person attuned to it can know how many charges it has. Just want to be careful about metagaming here, like with the Dusk statuette - it's on his person but wouldn't be visible (it's expensive, it would be kept hidden and secure to avoid tempting thieves) although admittedly you wouldn't know that. But, it's not like he would keep the staff charges secret so..
As he investigates the door Dusk does mention to the group, "we will have to be creative if this door is trapped too, my staff is out of charges."
OOC: So we can say this is when Maerwyn says what she says. Do you think she said it loud enough for his 17 passive perception to pick up?

Maerwyn will move towards the table and pick up the cups one by one to investigate if these have been used recently:
"Magron, what do you think?"- she taps her fingers on the surface of the cup that's being held by her then adds, "There might be more than five persons attending the tea-party or it could have been less than the exact number."
"And Dusk? Would you mind if I knock on the door? I'm unable to find something creative, especially in this situation"
(I found another term named 'Powergaming' which was quite interesting, and yes, Dusk can hear everything if he's interested in gossiping. I personally think that it would have been better if we had this kind of conversation in a separate OOC chatbox.)
OOC: Powergaming is an interesting term but from my understanding of it, it's not relevant here. I prefer OOC in the thread, it keeps things nice and linear with ease of context.
On hearing Maerwyn mention about expending charges and self-annihilation, he chose to speak up. The anger he had already flown away from his mind, his tone was back to his normal speech: explanative, casual, laid-back.
"There's not really a need for concern. The staff doesn't really have spells suited for combat in this situation. Most are forms of teleporting or creating temporary passages. It had one useful spell for combat, but nothing we'd miss. I obtained this staff only to ease reliance on my higher magic for travel. Everything I rely on for combat I still have available."
"Oh yes, thank you, knock away. I'm sure between us both we can ensure this door is safe."

OOC: How does Maerwyn know how many charges the staff has? How does she even know what type of staff it is?
Dusk will enter the room with his two minions following. "Five cups. With my summons there is five of us. I wonder if that is a coincidence. I certainly won't trust that tea."
He proceeds cautiously to the other door and as before will inspect it for traps.

"Nice move Dusk, but this room is perculiar." Magron says as he moves in and takes a closer look at the cups of tea, what kind of smell is coming from them? Are there only the 5 cups, or also a pot of tea?
It smells light and fresh. There's only the five cups.

((OOC: somehow I completely missed that you used your staff for the passwall, thought you cast it.))
"Thank you Dusk." Grom moved into the room and looked around. "I think we can probably assume this was not meant for us, and I can't picture illithid drinking tea. Although... who knows. Perhaps someone else has moved in here and set up a dungeon...? But why?" He shrugged. "There are bound to be more traps. I will share my power with you, so that we may all fly or hover, in case some trapdoor opens under our feet." He closed his eyes for a moment and focused, "passing" the magic to them and rising a foot into the air himself.
((Wind Soul gives everyone flying speed of 30 feet for 1 hour.))
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The picture of Illithids drinking tea forces out a quirky giggle from the Blood-Hunter's side, then she feels herself loosening up a bit followed by a sensation of losing weight, certainly caused by the Sorcerer companion's ability to share power among the allies.
"Dusk, that door might not attack us if we knock on it. Instead, we should be concerned about the people who are trying to hide behind the door"- she's seen declaring the concern boldly, then raising her voice to let her words heard to the other side of the door, "I think they should open the door and face us with the little courage they're successful to conjure up, keeping your 'guests' unattended is uncivilized!"
"Hmm the tea smells freshly made, but I don't see any Kettle or something; which seems weird. So maybe there are other people; or this actually is meant for us.
Hmm, its also bad custom to not take that what is given to you by a host. Let me try this tea, if it is bad I shouldn't be hurt as much as one of you may."
Magron speaks out before taking a couple of sips from the tea.

Dusk felt the power Grom shared, rising a few feet from the ground. He smiled. "Ooh, flying. Thank you Grom, this didn't seem to be the Fly spell, is this just a power you have? How long will this boon last?"
"Oh, and I'm fairly certain the door isn't trapped should we feel inclined to open it."

"Grom, they seem reluctant to come out of the safety of their lair, as if they were frightened by the spellcasters"- she will comment on the matter of telepathic connection at the same time taunting the opposition into taking an impetuous decision. Then, she moves towards Magron to see if he's affected by the tea and asks, "Can you break down the door with your Warhammer?"
"I have two ways to bypass this door. I could use Scrying to see the other side and open an Arcane Gate, there is no risk to this but it has two downside: it uses more of my higher magic and takes 10 minutes. The other way is teleporting me and one other to the other side, and see if we can open there. There is risk because if the enemy is there they may attack us. But it would be instant and uses less magic. So, we can still bypass the door if we really wanted."
