 "Um... Would you like... a minor discount?"

Grom resisted rolling his eyes. Then he approached the man casually and with a friendly smile and a reassuring tone offered the man some gold - the cost plus a little extra. "Sorry for the trouble, friend. Excuse my companions. Of course we'll pay full price."

"Um... Okay! Thank you! Where would you like to go."

*A few sudden changes have happened in my schedule, so I won't be able to respond for much of today or tomorrow.*

Muggles, the cat, perched in his usual position upon Dusk's shoulder reacts favourably to Maerwyn's pets. When she stops the cat settles, looking around curiously.

Dusk observed the interactions between his new allies and the locals with a sense of detachment. At this point he's more on auto-pilot, his mind preoccupied, and just waiting for the chance to get this over with, conjure his home and relax in comfort.

When the Magron gestured to Wispy, the Elemental raised his stumpy funnel of air that is his arm and gave a brief friendly wave. The vague semblance of a mouth forming as much of a smile as it could muster. "Hello," Wispy says in the primordial language of Auran, his voice sounding something akin to a strong breeze racing through trees and over rocks. He didn't expect to be understood; other than Dusk very few knew his language. Still, he hoped the greeting would be received all the same. He didn't fully understand their languages, either, but over the months he was learning to interpret their gestures and mannerisms, and Dusk would teach him more sometimes. Give it a few more months and surely he would learn enough to hold conversation, possibly?

He resumes watching his friend, Dusk, dutifully.  His friend, although most would say master, was lost in thought or some mental exercise. He knew this look well. He knows to keep an eye out in case of pickpockets or troublemakers and to guide him forward if needed. 

They turn to ask Grom, "How many people are you taking?" They turn fearfully at Maerwyn and take a single step back, as he turns back to Grom.

Maerwyin will dismiss the effect of the previously cast Prestidigitation spell, and she folds her arms across her chest defensively, then replies to the enquiry with a surly expression:

"Four people, but we have additional three companions. Will you be able to provide us with the required transportation facilities?"

She will smirk playfully to reduce the tension and conflict-prone situation caused by her sudden possessive reaction, then she adds further:

"Don't worry about the smoke, it was harmless. You see, we're a group of people who are unique and have distinct expertise in our own fields. So I don't like to tolerate curious behavior of strangers."

 "S-sorry... can I see them?"

((The companions are the Steel Badger, Wispy and Muggles - all of whom are in plain view.))

"Well, I'm a little afraid this might not fit all of you, and definitely not that."

"It's not going in with us." Grom's voice reflected his amusement - the elemental could fly circles around them at the pace they'll be going. Actually, so could he...

Meanwhile, Maerwyin will discuss the issue regarding the presence of 'Wispy' with Dusk, whispering under her breath she will ask:

"I think he's been referring to 'Wispy' by the last word, that's certainly not a polite way to address your companion but I don't want to blame him. What do you suggest? Can you transfer him to a pocket dimension temporarily?"

Drawn out of his thoughts by Maerwyn Dusk takes a moment before answering.

"It is possible," he answers as he absent-mindedly scratches his cheek. "But it would involve using a higher amount of my energy and he would need to be stored overnight. I would then have to expend another amount to bring him back after a restful night." He turns to the man who had enquired about Wispy. "If your concern is accommodating for travel, have no fear of that. My elemental here can fly about three times faster than most can run. He doesn't get tired either so he can literally travel forever without stopping if he wanted. He will not require any space in the carriage. My cat will just be on my shoulder or lap and he's a familiar so I could always send him into his pocket dimension if need be. There is only need for 5 of us to fit. This would be myself, my 3 allies and the steel badger. If needed my elemental could just carry me and probably keep pace anyway."

He shrugged and scratched behind his ear. Talking to new people always made him nervous.

"Please wait for a moment, are you saying that thing is going to be following us?"

"Of course," Dusk responds, "he's my bodyguard and a friend. Think about it - even if there are bandits on the road do you think they'd be foolish enough to try anything with a metal beast and my elemental guarding us? Look, at the end of the day he's nothing you need to worry about - unless you plan on harming us, of course - and we've had a very long day. Can you please just take our coin, arrange a carriage and get us to our destination?"

"Yes. Theives would probably not go there. But have you thought about everyone else?"

"In what sense? It's a carriage for us, and a driver, and of course the beasts of burden used to pull it. Unless you have an extremely large carriage, there isn't going to be anyone else."

"Well, what would people think if this was followed by whatever that is?"

"Who cares? We live in a world of monsters and magic. I'm a large, upright, talking cat. My friend is simply an elemental. A person is a person regardless of their packaging. Unless he is violent or preying upon you or other people, who gives a flying's rat ass? Look we - including my airy friend - are potential customers. Either provide service or stop wasting our time."
