As you all talk, you note a figure emerging from the door of the domed structure. The skin surrounding its huge, white, pupil-less eyes is sallow brown with a hint of violet. Four small tentacles flail wildly from below where you'd expect to see its nose and mouth. The finery it wears grows filthy with the ooze it runs through as it stumbles closer, but it pays you no heed. Three-fingered hands clutch at its soft skull, and suddenly, wordlessly, the creature's face and head are drawn inward by an irresistible force -- an implosion that resembles nothing so much as a giant, invisible hand crushing the skull of the creature like a grape.
It falls dead into the mud...just feet from you.

"Well." Daetris blinks a few times at the new corpse off a ways. "That's something, ain't it?" She follows after Ada over to the corpse, wanting to check it out as well. It's not something she thinks she's seen before, and she's always curious about new creatures.
Daetris looks over the body of the strange creature. While not too familiar, she does recall tales of such strange beings in the Underdark at times. She doesn't recall much beyond that...other than that such creatures were best to avoid. Looking about, she sees its footsteps lead back to the domed building by the cliff.

“Hmmm. Right. Tentacle mouth squishy thing came from that door up there, should we go to investigate? Could this be the type of creature they were using the ugly stick for?” Barkas can’t make heads or tails of this, suggests straight up investigation, going forward to that door. “Who goes first? Who is the sneakiest of our lot?”

Starring at the creature "I've heard of these creatures.... they are Mind... mind... something or other, it escapes me... Mind Slayers?.. no, I'll think of it."
"Yes" agrees Ada, "this was a horrible and most likely a dishonorable way to die."
"We should definitely go check this out" she says as she starts moving away from the body slowly and towards the building. Not caring much for the mud, she tries her best to step in areas that seem a bit more 'solid'. "So, you say this reminds you of home?" she asks Misha "was your home really muddy like this as well?"

"Whatever they are, we're gonna want to stay away from 'em," Daetris adds as she rises from her crouch. She looks toward the domed building and chuckles. "I'd say we'd wanna stay away from whatever killed 'em, too, but I gotta know what can do something like this."
She shrugs at Barkas. "I'm fairly sneaky, but if we all wanted to charge in ahead, I could help all of us in that regard. Little spell I've picked up along the way. It'd cover us for a bit, make us all a little sneakier." Now she eyeballs both Misha and Kel. "Some of us could probably use that."
Kel taps his armor with a talon at Daetris' comment, making a clinking sound. "Correct you are! Being as big as I am I generally find it pointless to make the attempt." He declares with a grin.
“Ok, there it is. How ‘bout we have a look in there? We will follow you Daetris.” Barkas readies himself, says a prayer for guidance, he misses his homeland already. “This land smells like a huge fart. Hopefully we can figure this out soon...”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Entering the domed building, you find that the lower level of the building is actually half-submerged in mud, making it impossible to access. However, immediately inside is a staircase leading up. Climbing the stairs, you come to a large, single room floor with pillars strung around the perimeter and a raised dais with an old ceramic pool atop it.
Kneeling on the dais, another sickly mauve, tentacle-visaged creature shudders with seems great pain. One of its large, white eyes has gone black with blood, and more dark fluid seeps amid the tentacles -- perhaps from a mouth obscured by the writhing appendages. As you watch, dark hemorrhages appear, like cracks quite literally forming on the side of the thing's head.
"Dead," a voice pounds into your head. "God is dead! The secrets are lost. It has slain the great Maanzecorian..."
As the creature's spirit flees its dying form, so does the voice leave your head.
“Who goes first? Who is the sneakiest of our lot?” "Defeeneetly not Meesha."
She shrugs at Barkas. "I'm fairly sneaky, but if we all wanted to charge in ahead, I could help all of us in that regard. Little spell I've picked up along the way. Misha gripped her sword as she heard the voice in her head, then noticeably relaxed when it ended.
Ada, shaking her head of the mental distraction, recalls reading once that Maanzecorian was an entity that embodied the illithid concept of complete comprehension of knowledge. For lack of a better word, the entity represented the race's idea of a god.

Misha lovingly turns you around from whatever you were looking at, to the dead mind flayer.
Kel looks at the the unfortunate creature. "Seems like an extremely unpleasant way to go." He notes, looking back at the door it emerged from.
Barkas discerns that indeed the creature is dead.
