“There is no way we’re making it unseen with that many folks there; any trying to do so for hours through all of that is how we all end up dead.” Doc sighed in frustration. “We don’t have a choice, we have to circle back and hope there’s a quieter way across, or worse case scenario, find a way to lessen their numbers or get them to leave the area… I’m not confidant in the latter so let’s start on the former and hope for the best.” And with that Doc would quietly make his way down from the vantage point and back towards the bridge.
Arora felt felt terrible for leading them down this path only to end up having to turn around. "I guess we head back across mushroom gorge the way we came"She turns and starts back tracking back to the gorge

Daewen shrugs.....she's comfortable brazenly walking out in the open, since she's likely invisible to everyone anyway, but she's definitely a team member, so she reluctantly turns on her heel and stalks back down the trail to cross over the mushroom bridge.

"Good idea! I like it!"Kasha said about Doc's idea, getting a running start and trying to mushroom bound over the gorge Zhi's probably going to fall into.
Neph grabs some guidance from Zhi and takes his turn to bound across the mushroom caps to the other side. "Who's leading this crew? Doc, are you sure this is the right way to go? Oh well, here goes nothing!"

Zhi casts a glance at the enslaved dwarves at the hands of the Drow. His eyes narrow as his gaze flickers between the presumable spellcasters among the rulers of the underdark - Zhi didn’t share the sentiments of his companions; he was very interested in the method of mental domination perhaps achieved by the spells of the Drow. The Orzhov would be curious to know. Perhaps he would receive a promotion if he found out how…
Or, he thinks to himself, perhaps he should give the concerns and wishes of his associates - no, companions (friends may be stretching it; Zhi claims to not know the definition of a ‘friend’). They certainly seemed more happy than him. Since when did Zhi care about feelings? He shakes his snakelike head to himself. Nope. He needed to surpress emotion entirely, lest they continue to poison his mind.
He rolls his eyes and straightens his posture just a little bit more as the party suggests they cross the chasm once more. Fine.
He almost ashamedly looks towards Mock, clearly too prideful and almost embarrassed to ask. He throws a guidance on himself and makes an attempt to traverse the mushrooms, footing unstable and weak muscles flimsily shaking with the minor exertion.

Raza's ready to hop right across, considering how easy it was the first time. She does, however take advantage of Zhi's offering. Too bad it doesn't help as she misses her step onto the mushroom, faced plants and bounces into the chasm next to Zhi and Neph.
Zhi takes a single step over a mushroom tree’s cap before careening over the side, clawed hands scraping over the bark rather than catching any grip. He magnificently crashes to the ground, neck-first, and as sickening snaps of broken bone and scales ring through once more, the whole world forcibly rewinds as Zhi has had enough with Athletics checks and pulls on the drawstrings of fate to forcibly alter the previous events - Zhi, mouth open and panting, expression livid, pops into existence on the other side of the chasm.
Though his legs were as wobbly as a baby giraffe's, Doc just managed to make his way across with a sigh of relief. As he looked down at the others who weren't so fortunate this time around, Doc felt a phantom pain in his side for what could've been. Maybe Zhi's magic was affecting him again he thought to himself...

As they head back through mushroom gorge, Arora saw others of her team slip and fall into the gorge hurting themself.... She felt guilty for leading them down such a useless path. She starts her jumping to make her way back across via the mushroom caps.

Mock is more than glad to turn around and leave the hoard of drow behind. She's not entirely sure how many she can take at once; she also gets the feeling that now is not the time to try. So she heads back to the mushrooms with the others, wincing as several more of her friends stumble this time. "Wow. We're not good at this." But she takes the mushrooms at a run herself, a grin on her face.
Once everyone has <safety> made it back to the west side of the ravine, Daewen leads the group south, hugging the west side of the ravine, down towards one of the southern bridge crossings. Hopefully one of these bridges is functional, she thinks, as I think our group is getting beat up by our own doing!
AREA 18 is a massive fungal forest yet uncut by the drow or the dwarves. You can all pass by here without anyone noticing you all. From here, AREA 17 is well within reach after about a 2 mile walk.

Daewen can’t but help silently laugh at Zhi’s fumbling and magical recovery. Doc is gonna give him extra PT for that, next rotation, I think.
