"Trying..!"Kasha barks, implying it did indeed happen at some point. Soon. Me, Kashasaurus, Queen.
As you all emerge from the dungeon level of the Cathedral, the battle has ended. As you look around, the saddened visages of the villagers and the militia greet you all. They are, however, happy that Juriendor is alive. He will survive. But, the Moonshard is missing.
"The Moonshard!"one of the clergy declare. "The Moonshard was taken by the Drow! We saw them fleeing into the woods! A number of them! One looked poweful!"
The Moonshard appears to be a powerful artifact of some sort, as indicated by the summoning mishap that involved the Archon. As you look around, you realize that this was all one big distraction - the Drow took advantage of the Vigil to release undead to cause it, burrow underneath the Cathedral and steal it - then run away into the forest. the trail is still hot.
The Moonshard must be recovered, and the Drow must be destroyed.
We saw them fleeing into the woods! A number of them! One looked powerful!"
Arora looks towards the woods, she sighs heavily as she notices the sun is about to rise... so much for resting. At least the villagers and militia took care of the zombies up here. Arora starts to wander over towards the woods, her boots crunching along as she goes, she takes a few moments to see if she is able to pick up the trail (hot as it is) of the fleeing drow.
Drow Tracker: 18
"I'm fairly certain we can follow these tracks... it shouldn't be too hard."
Drow have stolen the Moonshard, and villagers, from the village of Rybalka. As you finish your long rest, you feel more powerful in the face of experience. You press on. Facing north in search of your quarry, you see the tracks. As you look on, the overcast northern sky darkens considerably. A black mist far beyond the clouds roils across the heavens. Suddenly, the weak rays of the sun are further muted until a false night descends on you. For a brief time, bands of darkness radiate across the dim sky, as if the sun has grown spidery legs or a mane of raven-colored hair. Very quickly, even this fades until, within a minute, nothing shines from above— not the sun, or the moon, nor the stars cast even a mote of light. All is black, save scattered fires from within Rybalka. The villagers pause from their healing and rebuilding as the darkness descends—its gloom eclipses both light and sound as a hush falls over Rybalka. Even the dogs and livestock are quiet. From the all-embracing shadow, the village elders step into view, led by High Priest Juriendor, now healed. He presents you with a few rolled pieces of parchment and several cold, black pearls. His voice is heavy with worry as he speaks.
"Oh. That's not good."Kasha admits, looking up.
“There are precious few left who can track our missing and recover the Moonshard. We pray that you accept these tools to light your way, and bring the villagers back before something worse befalls them.”
Juriendor gives you all two scrolls of cure wounds and a scroll of daylight.
"Oh my... that doesn't look good at all." Arora stares out in silence as the darkness moves in "This brings a new level of creepiness." she says under her breath.
Arora watches as Juriender hands the parchment and black pearls to Doc, she leans over to Kasha "I wonder what the pearls are for..." she whispers "I mean, I get the scrolls of healing and light but black pearls?" She continues to watch and listen as Juriender implores to find and return the missing moonshard. Her mind races through the previous events of imps, zombies, skeletons, drow, and spider demons... she starts wonder what horrific creature they would meet today, she wasn't scared because she was in good company. Her team had her back and she was ready and prepared for what the day, or night as it now appears even though it was actually day (that's gonna mess me up), has to offer. The time has come, load em up and move em out.
She looks to the others "Ready or not, here we come!"
As the artificial darkness spreads, Daewen actually starts to feel comforted. Almost like wrapping yourself in the most fuzzy blanket you own, comfy. Having spent centuries in the Shadowfell, darkness is pure bliss, her friend. Whereas the others take on a demeanor of sullenness, Daewen actually starts to skip with joy as they walk.
Trying to cheer her colleagues up, she gives everyone the thumbs up sign when Juriendor explains their next mission. She mouths 'lets roll' as she swivels with a little sashay, and proceeds to follow Arora into the woods.
"That's a bit concerning." Raza watches the light slowly disappear, her worry showing in her quick tail flicks. Well, at least she had done well enough in her training so far that Kelemvor had granted her the gift of the spirits. No longer was she just able to talk with them, they would now be able to help her! Despite the unease brought on by the current situation she found herself in, she was still excited by her new abilities and had complete trust in her friends. This would be their greatest quest yet!
Zhisshikassa spent the morning muttering over his crystal ball as he usually does. The strange ritual, spoken in the tongue of the Yuan-Ti, is now a familiar occurrence with whoever travels with him often. Portent rolls! 1513
Zhisshikassa turns his eyes upwards to the oncoming darkness. He had spent the night too close to a fire for anyone not cold-blooded to perhaps appreciate. The flickering firelight dances off Zhi's beady eyes and black scales. "The Yuan-Ti rumored of eternal night. I wonder if it has arrived," he mutters to himself, neither concerned nor eager. "Very well. We have a mission to accomplish. I suppose we should refrain from muting our powers. I find stealthy missions to be idiotic."
He takes particular interest in the black pearls, casting Identify if needed. He then wordlessly follows the group, ensuring to remain right where he is the safest - in the middle of the group of bumbling allies. Zhi was known to be...frail. Yet he was quite powerful when needed.
"I wonder what the pearls are for..." she whispers, "I mean, I get the scrolls of healing and light but black pearls?" Kasha's pupils dilated. "They look like candy.."
It was time to press on. Follow the tracks. Save the villagers. Recover the Moonshard. Play with Raza's tail. Piggyback on Mock. Eat chocolate covered peanuts.
"I disagree with you there Zhi. I will see if I can convince you otherwise." Nephvir feels rested and invigorated, excited about his new powers that he has developed. Now he creates a mage hand and has it sneak up on the other shoulder of Kasha and tap her, remotely. He waits for her reaction and smiles at her. "Very handy. My skills have grown. As have yours. But I'm really excited about the chance to kill more Drow. They will pay for what they have done, to me, and to the people of Rybalka. Let's find the Moonshard and end this curs-ed darkness."

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
The presence of the eclipse has made the dawn into dusk. You begin your pursuit. A thick, old forest beckons you to head north among it's shadowy trunks, pervasive darkness present beneath the canopy. The wind carries an ominous whisper, the leaves rustle with dark portent. Suddenly, you can hear rustling among the trees. Something alive is nearby. It's as if the eclipse is disturbing the natural order of things. From around a very large tree, a massive vine coils and constricts towards you, like a living tree. It's massive, and it attacks! Roll for initiative!
It took you a bit to realize, but Daewen is gone. No where to be seen. Invisible.
She’s there right next to you, but in the darkness, she’s completely invisible. Creepy.

At 3rd level, you gain darkvision out to a range of 60 feet. If you already have darkvision from your race, its range increases by 30 feet.
You are also adept at evading creatures that rely on darkvision. While in darkness, you are invisible to any creature that relies on darkvision to see you in that darkness.
"Oh crap! It's a full moon! I never told you guys! I turn into a werewolf on a full moon! Oh nuts! It's happening again! GRrgAaaaHH!" she growls, pretending to transform, but then freezes for a second before becoming her normal self.
"Ha! Just kidding! But check THIS out!"In a arboreal arcane *POP*, where Kasha once stood was now a brown Dire Wolf with bright green eyes, just like her. In fact, that was the only dead give away it was..well, still her.
Kashwolf looked around for a moment as if getting her bearings, or not familiar with what just happened, nor really recognizing you fully. It took her a moment to calibrate, like a computer rebooting.

As the group has accepted their mission and traveled onward, Mock's stayed a little quiet. Ever since waking up from their rest, she's felt something a little different curled around the all-too familiar flame of rage in her chest. But there's a job to do, so she's pushed it aside and carried on with the group, falling into her natural position behind the stealthier members of the party and flanking their squishy wizard to watch his back.
And then the plant comes to life. Oh, thank the gods, something she can hit.
Centurion spent a decent amount of their rest checking on the remaining villagers and clergy, making sure that no one was seriously harmed, luckily besides Juriendor, nobody seemed to be. When he was given the scrolls and the the black pearls, he thought on it for a moment before giving the Cure Wounds scrolls to Mock and Raza and the Pearls to Zhisshikassa; he kept the Saylight scroll to himself for the time being. "Use these scrolls in case I can't get to someone in time." he told the two tieflings, "And left me know if you figure out what these pearls do Zhi." he added to the wizard before tiredly returning to his things and resting for a bit. As he did, he noticed that his pack had begun to glow radiantly and felt heavier than it had before. Opening it up, he found a pure-white tome with golden writing and embroidery pulsing brightly. Well this is either a very good or an incredibly bad sign... he thought to himself as sat down and began inspecting it.
Definitely a bad sign... he thought to himself a bit distressingly when the skies darkened above him. Sighing audibly to himself, he grabbed his things, including his new tome, and gave the signal to move out; break time was over and they still had a job to do.
Doc was caught of guard when Kasha suddenly transformed into a wolf and began sniffing at him in a none-too-friendly manner. He was doubly caught off guard when a vine came alive and lunged straight for the squad!
Zhisshikassa remains alert and supernaturally focused despite the presence of the strange void replacing the sky. His beady, emotionless eyes scan the area - and as the Assassin Vine begins to move, he promptly halts and assumes the well-practiced combat stance the party is familiar with, interposing enough distance between himself and the enemy to remain safely behind the more martial, meatier members. Zhi clasps his hands together, spits an incantation, and wreathes a crackling line of fire between his palms as he pulls his clawed hands apart.
