(OOC: Doc never jumped). Not the most nimble fellow of the group, Doc waited till the others had swung across before tentatively grabbing the rope and doing likewise. Though his jump was anything but grateful, he managed to just make it across to the others intact.

Seeing the others begin to investigate the large tree up ahead, Doc stood back and waited to see what they'd report back.
Spying the watcher in the woods Raza adjusts her clothing, pretending that she hasn't noticed the creature. Stepping up to Mock, she touches her arm. "Don't look, but I think there is a dryad in that big tree, she's pretty high up." She whispers and looks around, noticing half of the group has basically disappeared as usual. "Hopefully the others see her." She says, moving over to Doc, tapping him with her tail. "We are being watched, I think there is a dryad in the big tree."
Mock flashes a grin at Raza, smacking her tail back against hers upon sticking the landing. She can feel the caution of the group, and there's that weird feeling at the nape of her neck that she gets sometimes when the rest of them start going all stealthy. Like there's something she's missing and should be on edge for regardless.
As soon as Raza whispers to her, she has to force herself not to look around any. That'd be obvious, and she's getting better at not doing that kind of thing. Instead, she crouches by Diresha and play tussles with her. Enough action to keep attention on them and hopefully not the others.
Tracks do indeed continue down the path along the river and the forest boundary.

The dryad turns into a tangle of vines, like being swallowed up by the earth, and reappears in the same way at the edge of the forest to your right, as if the earth regurgitated her, in front of Raza, Mock, Doc, Zhi, and Diresha.
Nephvir is slow on the uptake, but finally sees the commotion with the group and the new arrival which seemed to blend into the woods. He is 45 feet away on the flank, readies an arrow to shoot at this new strange creature as it seems hostile -

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Similar to Nephvir, Daewen was completely invisible and unseen/unheard in the woods, as if she were just a whisper on the cool breeze making its way though the undergrowth. When she got to a point where she had completely flanked the tree where the dryad was hiding, she looked up and couldn’t see it! That little vineous bastard had disappeared! Thinking that it maybe had camouflaged itself, Daewen slowly crept up to the base of the tree, intending on climbing it to flush the creature out of hiding, when she heard the clang of metal and yip of excitement from Diresha!
Foiled! That beastie must have teleportation tricks up its sleeve. Blasted!
She’ll make a run for the battle, pulling out her two short swords ⚔️ to ready herself (missing the first round of the battle, just like Nephvir).
Mock looks up to see something in front of them now. The dryad? Whatever it is, it might not be friendly. So Mock lets out a snarled curse and goes for her weapons.
Zhisshikassa is no stranger to the sect of Conjuration magic that compromises the teleportation spells. He refreshes his memory of teleporting creatures as he swivels around to gaze at the strange dryad.

"There's a wha-" Doc began before being surprised by the creature watching them as it appeared through a mass of vines.
Shadowy tendrils lash around you. Each creature of your choice that you can see within 30 feet of you must succeed on a Constitution saving throw (DC 12) or take 1d12 necrotic damage. You also gain 1d12 temporary hit points.
Okay, now is definitely the time to rage. Mock reaches down for that deep ball of rage of hers as she launches herself forward with a roar. There are shadows that seem to appear around her, lashing towards the creature as well.
The Dusthorn fires off magic missiles in the form of nasty long thorns! Ouch! Mock takes 4 damage. Raza takes 5 damage. Kashbork takes 3 damage.
When the thorn hits Diresha, she whimpers and pain and in a splash of maple leaves, returns to her normal half elven self. She gets up, shakes her head, and looks very confused.
Zhisshikassa extends his hand. The cobra-like hood hanging at his neck rises as he rattles an incantation. His raspy voice becomes suffused with commanding presence as he extends a clawed hand towards the Duskthorn, hissing - "GROVEL."
Action - Command. The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or follow the command on its next turn. Grovel. The target falls prone and then ends its turn. DC 14 Wisdom Saving Throw.
