Sir Darak Darkhall: No crime committed, Darak allows Yagra to exit without further interrogation. The Orc had stayed and honorably faced the troll when he could have fled, and for that he at least deserves a head start.
Taking the gold from Volothamp, he says, "I will not accept payment for doing what is my duty. If there is a gang kidnapping citizens, I will find them."
He then tosses the bag of coins at Durnan and demands, "Put a goddamn grate or something over that blasted portal! It is a danger to the safety of Waterdeep!"
Finally, he joins the party, eager to bring justice to whomever is responsible for these abductions.
Wheeze: to Volo "you say he was in Princely clothes...was he actually royalty then?"
replays the party's interaction with Volothamp over in his head, trying to recall his body language and how he suddenly appeared. Was there more than meets the eye?
((Insight check if needed 5 ))
As they are leaving he turns to Zera - "I noticed you were quite taken aback by Volo..." He looks about and lowers his voice a little "Who exactly is he? My studies sometimes take over..."

Zera smiles and says “never heard of Volo’s guides? His guide to waterdeep, his guide to monsters? He’s a famous scholar and wizard. We bards know who he is I guess more than everyone else does. Still can’t believe we met him. I mean, the Yawning Portal is a famous place where famous people sometimes go, but still..... Volo!! He’s most famous , of course, as the future author of Volo’s adventures of Zera the Incredible...” she laughs musically and gives a big smile.
Wheeze: looks a little sheepish. " My memory....its terrible sometimes. How about Zera the Incredible and Wheeze the Magnificent? And that was my first time in the Yawning Portal... Are trolls emerging from the floor a common occurrence? The bar man seemed completely nonplussed, completely fine with it"

“Yes, it happens there- monsters come out from the portal from time to time. There’s a huge dungeon down there, with passages to the undermountain and even the underdark, they say. You can pay a fee to get lowered down or raised up. Usually there’s enough adventuring types in the bar to take care of anything, and Durnan the barkeep is an accomplished fighter himself. I think he was holding back on that troll to let us shine some. He’s got some other guards about and a cleric of Tymora is usually on duty there too in case anyone is seriously hurt. Danger is part of the appeal for his clientele. - the place will be packed for the next few nights after that troll story makes it out. The gray hand will be disappointed- Durnan won’t be covering that pit up anytime soon! Yes! Let’s have adventures together- fame and fortune sure to follow! “. She laughs merrily.
Friar Xavier speaks quietly, as if to himself "Well Pascal, I guess I am destined for company one way or another. I suppose we will be helping others who cannot help themselves... and what fortune we find can go a long way to help others...", then louder, in reply to Zera, "By the mercy of Ilmater, I will do what I can, although I am no fighter ... if you will have me."
Zera gives the Friar a big smile “Happy to have a servant of Illmater along! The healing abilities of the Illmatari clergy are legendary, I hope you can keep us alive and well.”
Friar Xavier almost hiccups as he laughs in embarrassed reply, "I shall do my best, should it be Ilmater's will. However, at the moment I am afraid those two battles tapped my healing reserves... until they replenish I am happy to shed Ilmater's guidance, or to shine His light in the darkness. In a pinch, He may grant me His Sacred Flame to defend the innocent and His servants."
As Zera starts to lead the party out, Friar Xavier halts and asks Volo,"Can you give us any further details about the people your friend was with? Did you leave him there or did he leave the tavern before you?"
"Well, I may have been the one to get ol' Floon in trouble..... I came with Floon to the Skewered Dragon for ideas to make more coin, after a few drinks and some gambling I left Floon there by himself, I suppose he got lost or captured or.... worse"

"Thank you for the coin, sir," Durnan says" I'll see what I can do, but the portals magic and, well it won't be easy to blockade it as such, besides, like your friend said it's part of the appeal there's generally enough combat trained people to take care of such occurrences "

Having gathered the group, Zera leads the way to the docks district and to the tavern, keeping an eye out for any trouble. ((Just posting early, feel free to ask Volo anything, etc, not rushing the group. Zera does not want to stop, but wants to get right on the case, but if others all want a rest she won’t object))
Is everyone ready to follow Zera and move forward?
As the group approaches the Docks district, Zera, who seems to be a natural tour guide, gives a little history and overview of Waterdeep- and a warning about the docks district . “You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy- we must be cautious. The Skewered Dragon especially can be a little rough.” ((Sorry couldn’t resist))
As you turn a corner, you find yourselves on a street that has been cordoned off by the City Watch. Lying on the cobblestones are a half-dozen corpses, seemingly the victims of some terrible skirmish. Watch officers have disarmed and arrested three blood-drenched humans and are in the midst of questioning witnesses. One of the officers sees you. “Get on,” she says. “Nothing to see here.”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Friar Xavier mutters a quick prayer for guidance and looks to see if he can see anything which gives him greater information about the victims and those arrested.

You notice A dozen guards of the City Watch have arrested three bandits and are questioning witnesses while waiting for wagons to take away the criminals and the corpses. The survivors of the skirmish have been stripped of their weapons and forced to kneel with their hands on their heads
"A good evening to you. You may have heard of us, we are the Magnificent Six, we have something of a speciality in solving mysteries... What's happened here"
Friar Xavier showing trust in the local constabulary says to the closest officer, "In Ilmater's name, please accept this humble offering to help with the burial of these poor victims." He hands the officer 6 gold.
