(Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but I interpreted the exchanges as follows:
- Onu and KD paid their orders with gold pooled together [100g total] - Demetrios exchanged his Chain Mail for 1 Potion of Healing
Linene would accept a trade of 1 gemstone [50g value] per potion.)
50 gp gemstones (×5):
Chrysoprase (translucent green)
Jasper (opaque blue, black, or brown)
Moonstone (translucent white with pale blue glow)
Quartz (transparent white, smoky gray, or yellow)
Star rose quartz (translucent rosy stone with white star-shaped center)
Linene spent some time reviewing your gems and would agree to a one to one trade for her last two potions if the group desired. It took some time as she wasn't Halia, but the merchant would be able to identify your gems for you. She didn't particularly have a preference for any stone, allowing the adventurers to choose which ones they'd want to part with. And once their decision was made and if they were going to accept the trade, Linene would exchange the items with a smile. She'd then send them on their way, eager for them to make a return after their next adventure.
When the adventurers were ready they'd be able to follow KD's directions towards the Mayor's office. The building had sturdy stone walls, a pitched wooden roof, and a bell tower at the back. Of course, as the group made their way over, Rasmus chirped and chimed. The whole time. When they'd arrive at the establishment Demetrios would notice the woman he saw sitting in the grass earlier was no longer there.
"Nova. I said no. A peanut butter shortage is not an emergency!" The Townmaster's voice comes from behind the door in response to KD's knock. Those listening close enough could then hear him question himself in paranoia. "What if dragons liked peanut butter? Or... or! What if they were allergic!?" He could be heard pacing behind the door.
That was quite a thought! To Lilly's opinion (that nobody asked on the matter but she surely had one) the idea of dragon food allergies was quite interesting and worth an investigation. "Someone smart is in there," she nodded at the door. "Shall we join?" Since nobody answered KD's knocking, Lillyt simply pushed (or pulled) the door to open and looked inside. "Can we come in?"
Ok, maybe not that smart. "Um... We are no dragons. We are adventurers," (Lilly liked how it sounded) "who came to report about finishing the jobs. Thous about the gnomes and dwarves. And Adabra Gwynn too."
"Adventurers!" The Townmaster has his face pressed against the door's peephole. "Gnomes, Dwarves and Adabra?" There was a soft gasp and then a very thoughtful. "That's 1. 2. 3..." Lilly could hear him counting to himself, then after an awkward pause she'd hear the letter flap in the door open.
Three cards shoot out from a mail slot in the door, then slowly a small pouch gets shoved awkwardly through, landing on the ground with some familiar jingling (125g).

Butterskull Ranch Quest. “Orcs have attacked Butterskull Ranch, five miles east of Conyberry along the Triboar Trail! Travel there with haste, assess the damage, and help any way you can. Ranch owner Alfonse “Big Al” Kalazorn is a retired sheriff who can reward you for your efforts. If he’s dead, return to Townmaster Harbin Wester with proof of Kalazorn’s demise to receive a reward of 100 gp.”
Loggers’ Camp Quest. “Deep in Neverwinter Wood, along the river that flows west toward Neverwinter, is a logging camp. Every two months, Phandalin delivers fresh supplies to the camp, which is run by the half-brother of Phandalin’s townmaster, Harbin Wester. Barthen, the local provisioner, has prepared a new delivery. He needs someone to bear the supplies safely to the camp. Return to Harbin Wester with a notice of delivery signed by his half-brother, Tibor Wester, to claim your reward of 100 gp.”
Mountain’s Toe Quest. “The Mountain’s Toe Gold Mine lies fifteen miles northeast of Phandalin. The new overseer, Don-Jon Raskin, just made the trip from Neverwinter to Phandalin and needs to be escorted to the mine. There’s no telling what dangers lie between here and there. Once you deliver Raskin safe and sound, return to Townmaster Harbin Wester to collect a reward of 100 gp.”

"You don't even want proof? We could be lying. We're not, we can prove it, but how can you tell from inside? Are you okay in there?"KD says, peering through the slot. "You write these yourself?"
Hal is absolutely peering under the doorframe, metal monkeybutt way up in the air, head sideways on the ground.
Onu snatches up the cards as they come flying through the slot, deftly plucking each of them out of the air.
As KD leans in to peer into the key hole, the Monk holds the artificer's belt, giving her just a little bit more of an angle to peer into the room beyond. Help
With Onu’s extra lift, KD see things from a better perspective. She sees a large, old human male pacing about and muttering to himself, much like man plagued with paranoia. “Proof!?” He pauses. “Are you not the adventurers the dwarves reported helped them with discovering the hidden passage?” She sees him scratching himself. “Adabra sent word describing individuals like you.” He mutters some more things incoherently to himself. “Well then! Have you a magic item from the gnomes?” The Townmaster bends. “Yes. Yes! That’s the proof I need.” He looks through the hole KD is looking through. “Yes I did write those myself! Beautiful penmanship if I do say so myself!” His breath was hot and rank.
"Erm..." Demetrios clears his throat. "We have a letter from Adabra, if that's needed at all, and a magical item... We must thank the dwarves as well for sending word. But, sir, wouldn't it be easier to talk, um..."Using his height, he bends to hover over KD. "Not through a keyhole?"

The flap in the letter slot jiggles. “Shove it in sonny!” The Townmaster would encourage. “The other adventurer’s didn’t complain…” If KD was still watching, the big man shrugged as he mused to himself. “Only a dragon would insist to come it!” He gasps and bounces in self-induced paranoia. “You are a rather big and shiny one!”

Rasmus cuckoos.
As Onu and Lilly put distance between them and the residence they think they might hear something. Then again, perhaps it was just the rustling of the leaves of the tree they're passing. "Psst." Or maybe not. "Psssssssst." The tree? Couldn't be. "Hey. Psst!" Some vigorous rustling and young woman pops out of the cover of the foliage, hanging upside down. "Boop!" She gently pokes the nose of the one closest to her. "Hi! I'm Nova!" A pair of heterochromia eyes stare back and her black and white hair drapes down in tangles around her. Nova would do her best to speak in a hush but it poured with enthusiasm. "You must be really strong adventurers if you've just handed in three of the job board quests!" She was dressed in leathers and had a note pinned to her chest, be it a bit tattered. "I was requested to pass a message on to someone trustworthy." Letting go of her grip on the tree branch, Nova drops out of the tree and lands on her feet. "Can I trust youuusss?" Her eyes would grow wide with hope.
Nova
(Officially revealing/introducing another ixi PC cameo to the group. To those of you who don't/wouldn't know, meet Nova! She's from Rforrest's LMoP campaign.)
KD shrugs off Onu and focuses on the Townmaster's doorknob for a while, whispering and moving her fingers around it but not touching it until aa flash appears. She touches it once and, in the best impression of the Townmaster's voice, everyone can hear "WHO GOES THERE?!?!"
Nodding to herself, brushing her hands off, she spins on her heel in a self-satisfied manner and immediately freezes when she sees Nova. Eyes dance, taking in this new arrival. She ducks right next to Onu and mutters without moving her lips, "I want one."
She moves forward and extends her hand, "You can trust me. Call me KD. What do you have for us? And what were you doing in this tree?"
"We were not the first one to finish many tasks," added Lilly to be honest and clear here, "but you probably missed the other group. We missed them too, only heard of them. But I mean, yes, you can trust us!"
Nova would quirk her head when she'd just catch sounds of words that'd escape the woman's unmoving lips. A vibrant smile would appear on Nova's face when she'd introduce herself and extend her hand in greeting. With a little wiggle of her hips Nova would bounce in excitement as she'd take KD's hand in both of hers and pull it close to her. "Hi KD!" She beams.
"Oh!" Mismatched eyes blink. "A note. I have a note!" Nova would start patting herself down and checking pockets. "In the tree?" She'd remember KD's other question as she searched. "I was getting ready to take a cat nap when I heard you. So, I eavesdropped." The woman would admit while giving an innocent look.
As another would pipe up, Nova would crane her neck to peer over KD to find a redheaded halfling. She'd give a little wave with a few wiggles of her fingers as she'd listen. Nova's nose would scrunch, her mouth would purse and she'd bring a finger up to pat her nose to think. Was she counting? After a brief moment, as if a light bulb went off, Nova's expression would quickly brighten. "There's fewer of you and you turned in three!" Her eyes would shift and she'd lower her voice. "They only submitted two so far."
"I believe I can trust you!"
Blip. After another pause Nova would remember. "Right!" Her hands would lift. "That's why I'm here! The note!" She'd exclaim. "I think it's actually..." This time Nova would look down as she'd return to searching her person. "okay maybelike indirectly..." Finally, she'd spot the note pinned to her so she wouldn't lose it. "from one of them." She'd pluck it free from her gear and offer it up.
Letter
Those who look closely at the note may notice that it's a section torn from a longer message. Investigating further it would be easy to recognize that it's from a letter that was not originally addressed or intended for you.
The paper reads:
"But I need a message delivered and I cannot do it myself and I knew nobody else I could be sure the twins would seek out. In Phandalin there is a new overseer of the Mountain's Toe gold mine by the name of Don-Jon Raskin. Last we knew he was looking for an escort to return to the mine. He must be stopped from returning, if possible. The mine is overrun. Were-rats. We would love to clear the place of the vermin but unfortunately lack the proper gear. If there is any way you could get a message to this Raskin before he heads to the mine you would be saving a life...But even now it may be too late. Do what you can, just as I will do all that I can to return for a visit as soon as I can. Thank you."
Onu smiles as KD leans in, 'this one is all yours my dear' he replies sotto-vocce. As the note materializes, the monk reaches out and takes it, reading it quickly and eagerly before passing it to the others.
'Well, my friends, it seems we are spoilt for choice of adventure here - but it seems like we might need to intervene quickly with this Raskin if we're to help at all!'
My vote? Let's go find Raskin and see what that quest is all about, we can check in on the temple and be prepared to tackle the 'cards' after that. We should also see if we can do some research to prep for Were-rats
"Of course, we should go find him!" Lilly had no doubts here. "The treasure can stay where it is, but the man is in danger!"She thought for a second and asked. "Where would one search for an escort? In the tavern? We can ask there."
