Closing the lid of the chest, Kotardrags it towards the shore. It seems slippery, as if years underwater have added a thin sheen of algae to the stonework; he manages to move the chest a couple of feet.
(At least one more action will be required, with another Athletics check, to move it further)
One of the crabstakes a nip at Kotarwhile he drags the chest, while the other crab scuttles towards the distracting Brandon and tries to clip him.
(Kotar may make an attack of opportunity on crab 3)
Crab 4 attack on Kotar Attack: 10 Damage: 2 bludgeoning
Crab 3 attack on Brandon Attack: 19 Damage: 5 bludgeoning
Durnham responds to Qidira’s question, “No, the hand is useful but cannot carry anything as heavy as that chest. It just isn’t strong enough to help Kotar here.”

“A rope! We can throw a rope and help pull it to shore”Brandon throws out a suggestion, but then quickly has to jump back as a crab attacks from the water. Apparently his ploy to capture the crab’s attention worked too well, luckily he was able to avoid the crab’s claws. Brandon returns the favor, striking back at the crab with his longsword.
"Yes! I have a rope! And a grappling hook!" She uses her turn to semi disappear into the satchel and quickly pull out a grappling hook and 50' silk rope and start to tie it together and toss within reach of Kotar.
(assuming this is her action for the round? If she has time though she would fire off a bolt, but....not sure.)
Kotarswings at the crab as it heads for Brandon. He catches it square in the rear of its shell, cracking the carapace.
Qidirasearches the bag for her grappling hook and rope, ties them together and throws them to Kotar (sorry, that's your action)
Brandonswings at the crab before him. Already damaged by Kotar's opportunity attack, the creature's shell cracks open under the warlock's masterful stroke and it expires, sinking slowly back under the water.
(Ressys' turn, there is one crab left and it is next to Kotar)

(I think Durnham was at the top of the initiative round?)
Seeing that there’s one crab left, Durnham lowers the wand to save charges. Knowing that a fire spell will be useless, he tries something else…
He closes his eyes for a moment and inhales deeply, calming his mind as he attempts to invade and disrupt the mind of the creature. His eyes open and he gazes at the creature muttering the word “Splinter.”
He sends a brief mental image of Kotar breaking crab legs and dipping the meat into butter. He has a large satisfied grin on his lips as he bites into the dripping tissues.
He casts mind sliver: The crab must make a DC 13 intelligence saving throw or take 1 psychic damage. On failure it also subtracts 1d4 from its next saving throw before the end of Durnham’s next turn.

He heard the sound of the hook passing through the water. At first he thought it was some new kind of monster jumping in the fray and few times before the goliath was so happy for being wrong. Kotar understood Qidira’s idea and just before he could drop the chest to get the rope one of the crabs tried to pass by him. His reaction was immediate – he let go of the ark and took the dagger on his right hand, unleashing a fast thrust with all the strength of his arm behind it.
Combined with Brandon’s spell the dinn… Creature, was brought to oblivion and with one thing less to worry Ironhunter reached for the hook and tied the rope around the chest. Then, very much like his gnome friend, he started pulling. Swimming, retreating, and pulling. The faster the better, he said to himself. Soon we will on our way back to Paleblank. Soon we will save them. The idea filled him with joy and not just because of the notion of success. He really didn’t want to let the kids die and now, more than at any point on their journey, there was reason to believe they would make back in time. That they would make a difference.
Notes: I am rolling the athletics check with advantage, assuming Qidira is using her action to help Kotar.
Durnhamfocuses his spell on the last crab but something feels off; it doesn't connect the way he expects and the crustacean carries on unpurturbed.
Kotarfeels the slight but reassuring pull of Qidira on the rope and feels inspired to draw on it with every ounce of his strength. The goliath falls out of the water, the chest coming up behind him, and he is able to prob it on the bank.
The crabsnips at Kotar as he strides past, trying to clamp on and stop him moving any further.
Claw attack on Kotar Attack: 17 Damage: 4 bludgeoning
At that point Kotar knew quite well how powerful of a warrior Qidira really was. As far as he was concerned only a complete fool would either underestimate her or wish to be on the wrong side of her aim. Still, he was surprised by how much easier it was to pull the chest to shore with the cord and her help. Maybe I should ask how she trains for strength, he considered as a crab approached and clawed at him. Too focused on his weight pulling task, the goliath took too long to react and ended grappled.
Conscious of the fact that he would not be able to move on that situation and that even if he broke the grappling there was good chance the crustacean would simply catch him again he decided to grab the knife and attack again. The fighter doubted the blade alone would be enough to finish the enemy, but he could count with supporting fire from the others.
“Good news, everyone!” He said readying the blade. “The vials have a substance different from Frigid Woe and this crab here could feed all of us.”
It was good to be able to breath again. It will be even better when we finish this, he fought attacking.

As Kotar and Qidira haul the chest to shore, Brandon pulls forth swirling energy and hurls it at the last remaining crab as it grapples Kotar. He is not sure if he is excited more about the possibility of finding the cure, or of the crab meat that Kotar pointed out would make a fine meal.

Kotar swings at the crab as it heads for Brandon. He catches it square in the rear of its shell, cracking the carapace.
Qidira searches the bag for her grappling hook and rope, ties them together and throws them to Kotar (sorry, that's your action)

(@ dm thank you-don't think I used movement so using that to move forward as close as she can without getting into water)
Qidira moves forward watching to see if Kotar notices the grappling hook flying into the water to land close by.
(No problem. Qidira is pretty much at the water's edge but uses her movement to get the best angle on passing the rope & hook to Kotar)
"Ressys aim true!" Qidira calls out as the crab edges towards Kotar.
Ressys does the best he can with his limited power in this situation and casts Produce Flame again and throws the flame at the last crab

Ressys' flame seems to smear across the water's surface and dissipates before it reaches the crab.
The grappling hook lands in the water next to Kotar, sinking slowly but still within reach.

Qidira keeps hold of the other end of the rope ready to pull with all her gnomish might once the Chest is secured. Strength 10 ;P
