The blue tiefling woman is visibly relieved when Mal reappears, and puts a hand out to touch him. Listening carefully, she offers, "Both entrances are guarded, but this main entrance more then the other. I think, without more flying, we cannot risk the cavern entrance, but those boats mean there is a river entrance somewhere. Should we find that, and attempt to surprise them that way? The bell you describe would need to be disabled."

"I would prefer the ambush approach. As of now, these things have proved potent enemies and it seems they are already prepared for invaders at the main gate." Shariel stows her bow and rests her hands on the blade hilts at her hips, one a familiar, cord-wrapped handle. "Let Shadow guide, Earth shelter, and Water deliver us."

Clayton raises a hand, “I could try to hypnotize the ones at the back. That would buy us some time. I can also make things look real. Like a smooth rock facing or something.

"I don't mean to be rude but just because it can be killed Shariel; that doesn't necessarily mean that we will be able to kill it. Now I'm pretty sure that I don't know what the hell it is or what it can do. And I don't want to get cocky and have it all end up like our last fight." Mal gaze flicks from one person to the next.
"So that's why I'm gonna ask again. Does anyone know anything, anything at all, about any sort of creature like this?"
”I am concerned for what a fiery fight with a slime will do to our stealthy approach of those yuan-ti at the underground dock. Mal, is there a way to avoid the slime, do you think, now that we know where it is?”

Clayton snaps his fingers, “Oh! I just remembered something. See, we’ve been traveling around planes a couple of times now, dying and what not, and I think I learned something. I might be able to banish the slime. It would burn some magic, but we’d avoid a fight.”
"It was just hanging out on the ceiling when I saw it. We could always try to lure the snake people over to the Slime and have it attack them instead."
”I like the idea of using it to do our work. Better than spending our magic to fight both. We’d have to make sure they don’t call for help. I wonder if they know it is there, if they count on it as part of their defenses.”

OOC > Per Mal’s description, it sounds like the crevasse entrance is slippery, steep, covered in various fungi, and would involve crossing under a green slime. Is that a fair assessment, Crispy? Does the crevasse entrance open onto dry land, or over the water? If the slime dropped, would it drop into the water, or onto their dock area? If someone approached by boat, would they pass under it?
PbP does not naturally lead to a good understanding of the tactical nature of a situation, sorry for all the questions.

OOC: Regardless, it sounds better than going through a big, angry commander yuan-ti. Besides, we’d need to open the door and I’m sure that would let them know that we’re here.

Slither returns to the group to relay what he's seen.
Mal isn't going to risk it, he'll fly back and tell the group about the ooze/slime creature, the guards, and everything else he saw.

From what you saw, it was a green slime. And super gross.
Clayton thinks for a moment, trying to recall if he’s ever heard or read of such a creature.
