(Hide? Never! Well, okay, usually, but not this time)
Flinching away slightly at the burst of bright light, Kellen draws his rapier and moves to attack the other darkling, using the impressive bulk of Ember to disguise his approach.(moves directly behind Ember and attacks diagonal)
This Mug immediately shared with me a transcendental tale of an Infinite Mug that anchors the Universe and keeps it from folding in on itself. I filed this report under "illogical nonsense" and asked why its sign is in Times New Roman font, when it is basic knowledge that Arial Black is a far superior font. I wondered: How did this mug even get past the assembly line with its theistic beliefs and poor font choices?
quote from Romantically Apocalyptic byVitaly S Alexius
Celesta's owl and Ember both manage to retain their vision despite their proximity to the flash of light.
(Satyr’s Wisdom save: 7 )
Noting that the darkling’s vision seems impaired, Kellen slips up behind Ember and darts out to slash at her. He is surprised when she blocks his blow with her dagger. She seems to have some nonvisual ability to sense her surroundings, so he did not have the advantage over her that he assumed. The darkling gives a little scornful laugh and stabs at Kellen with her dagger. Attack: 9 Damage: 7
It’s Kellen’s turn to laugh as he easily dodges her attack. Parolanta calls out, “Not much I can do. We should try to keep one alive for questioning!”
(Tellior is up, followed by Ember, Triss, and Celesta)
Having now set down the blanket with the slippers wrapped inside, Tellior calls out, "Ember - I am not throwing the slippers after all the trouble we went to finding them!" He then casts Ray of Frost again, this time at the other darkling. (Attack: 22, Damage: 3 cold)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ember slashed a rapid backhand strike towards the satyr
"Keep the darkling alive. Itll blind us anyways."

Parolanta says, “Yes, I think Tellior is right. I’ll keep an eye on the slippers!”Then another beam of burning cold light sears into the darkling from Tellior’s spell. Ember strikes again at the satyr, this time cutting deeply into his leg.

Letting out a soft hum, Triss draws another arrow. They hear Ember's comment and change targets just a hair. Now they're aiming at the satyr behind, letting out a slow exhale before releasing their arrow.
Triss’ arrow pierces deep into the satyr’s chest and he begins to wheeze. Then Celesta’s Fire Bolt burns into his stomach. He is gasping for breath and still looking around in confusion. 5 Again, he simply stands there, holding his shortsword loosely in his hand, looking from Ember to the darkling to the rest of you without comprehending why he is there or what he is doing. (Wisdom save 1)
Kellen swings his rapier at the darkling again, although hearing Ember’s and Tellior’s calls, he tries to incapacitate the darkling instead of landing a killing blow.
Attack: 12 Damage: 11 plus Sneak attack damage 6
After attacking, he calls out to the others “Did anyone see where the other elf ran off to? We shouldn’t let him escape without getting answers.”
Celesta, as the smoke from the last firebolt leaves her fingers says “good thought- I can send my owl after them- perhaps they are still close by watching the outcome of this battle…”

Kellen’s rapier glances off the darkling’s armor--perhaps he was being too careful. In return, the darkling sneers and jabs at him with her dagger. Attack: 18 Damage: 5
This time she pierces his shoulder with her blade saying, “We are not taken so easily.”
Fluttering near the bundle of slippers, Parolanta calls out, “I can help with taking them alive.” She tosses some rose petals in the air and calls out Dormi. (24 ) Just as the darkling is snarling at Kellen, she and the satyr slump to the ground asleep. Also affected, Celesta’s owl also flutters safely to the road. “Oh! I didn’t think about your owl! It’s okay, just asleep. The other two will wake up soon, so you’d better secure them while you can!”
(We are effectively out of combat, so you may all act as you wish.)
Celesta picks up her owl carefully and gently shakes it awake. The owl blinks a few times and nuzzles Celesta. It then takes flight. The hedges prevent it from making big circles, but it can fly off in the direction that the elf took. After a minute or two, it returns to Celesta and communicates that there was no sign of him along that alley and there were other side roads where he could have disappeared. He seems to be long gone.
(Does your owl have a name? I can't remember.)

Kellen slumps down to the ground near the hedge, one hand pressed to his shoulder trying to staunch the blood flowing down his arm. His face is pale as he weakly calls out “Lucky hit. Can anyone spare a little help?”

Tellior makes his way over to the gnome quickly. "I can help you Kellen." He touches Kellen gently on the shoulder, placing his other hand just above the dagger wound. With a whisper he says the words to enable the Cure Wounds. (Heals 4 hp)
He then takes a moment to inspect both the wound and to make sure nothing else is wrong. (Medicine check: 18, using Help from Celesta)

Celesta goes to wake up her owl and ensure she is ok, then she sends the owl up in a spiraling circle around the area for any signs of that elf..
