"Looks like there is debris inside, on the first floor. Wild party is my guess. Wild, heh." Tortimer chuckles at his joke as he follows along. "We will probably have to fight some kind of monstrosity. I still have spells left but I can beast shape once more today."
"This hunt is interesting. Maybe we shall find what we search for in there." Tortimer thinks as they continue. He watches the windows for anything else and drums his claws on his quarterstaff.
Myles:The house is two to three, give or take, not including the extra height for the bell towers. You sense nothing out of the ordinary as you approach the body. Once upon it, you can confirm what you suspected: drow, self-inflicted wound, dead long enough that the moisture has begun to leave the body. Around the body's neck is a small key on a chain, and you notice a bulge in a small leather pouch on its hip.
Satsuma:All seems well as Myles approaches the body. It's safe to say you would notice the same things.
Tortimer:(Can you give me another perception check?)
Myles: The key is three-toothed and looks like just the right size to open the door to the house. Apart from that, it appears to just be a normal key. The bag contains 3 silver pieces and 9 copper pieces. It also contains something a bit more interesting: a metal backed enamel emblem that looks like a the blossom of a flower. It is inlaid with what might be precious stones.
"Some coins and some kind of emblem in the pouch," Myles says, holding the pouch out for the others to have a look at. "Any of you know what it means?" He then holds up the key. "Might fit the door. Shall we go in?"
"Just one moment. If we are about to step into an estate with possible horrors I'd like chance at a warning sign that may get cursed. Heck these items may potentially be cursed. We may go in after my preparations."
“I’ll look around the house for anything else while we wait,” Myles suggests. He starts walking to the left of the house, glancing back to see if anyone wants follow.
Sera: You settle in to prepare your ritual and after ten minutes you sense magic coming from within the pouch Myles holds. (Assuming he's left it there and you want to focus on it for its school) It glows with the color and texture of Abjuration magic. You also notice that the lamps outside glow with the flickering aura of Evocation magic, likely something to keep the lights going. You also detect a glow just within the house on the ground, continuing in a pace, which has the shifting aura of Transmutation.
Myles, Tortimer:As Sera performs her ritual, you both explore the gravel path to the left of the house. It looks into a small grove of mushrooms that surround a large stone dais. Decorated panes of glass surround it in such a way that it resembles a large flower. Someone has weighed down a handwritten note with a rock just off the dais, on the stairs leading up to it. You see that the stone within the glass petals is engraved with text in Common and another language:
As above, so below, the flowers will always lead us home.
In the night, without the light, they need the sun to grow.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(Sorry to be nitpicky but it it supposed to be 'the flower's will' or the plural 'the flowers will'? :'D)
Myles, shrugs, looking around at the glass. "Not sure, maybe it's about the portal. But 'home' is different for everyone, so who knows. What do you think?"
Myles: (The latter, my bad for the typo lol) Apart from the dais, the note under the rock on the stairs, and the glass petals, you don't notice anything else interesting in the area.
Tortimer: The note appears to have been quickly dashed down and folded before the ink fully dried, leading to some smeared text. What you can make out is:
...is Ged's False Sun?.. ... ... ... ... ... I ... ... thought it was just a.. ... ... petals turn towards the sun... ... is there a portal.. ... surface? Must return with ... ... ... investigate the house mechanisms.. ... ... ... sonic locks?.. illusory walls? Who can... ... ...
"Most certainly my dear. It is as I expected there are magical phenomena around us. First and minor the lamps are magical that seem to keep it lit. Second I believe an item that our other masked companion picked up also seems to have special properties which if he'd allow me I'd like to cast an Identify spell on it so we may use it. Lastly and concerning within the house is something moving about and may be something dangerous."
(whoops Myles probably would have left the items for Sera to detect magic on)
"Looks like a sneak peak for what's in the house," Myles says, looking over the tortle's shoulder (shell? arm?). "You want to check anything else or head back and inform the others?"
He looks at her “Let us head back to our companions, they might be able to parse this note out a little better than I.” He says as he hands the note to her.

Myles notices the keys and pouch, and carefully takes it from the deceased. He examines the key for any markings or letters, and checks the bag.

Sera casts Detect Magic as a ritual.

Tortimer follows.

"Anything interesting?", Satsuma asks Sera when she thinks she's done with her ritual.
