”Sound plan. One thing though, my clan has a… unique ability. We can tangibly see auras of magic. Maybe before we go in there trying to sneak around physical obstacles I should watch out for the magical ones? Just trying to think with my head rather than my blade.”
"Interesting idea. I could support that. And it doesn't require any of my spell resources so I would be free to support if hostilities break out." He ponders this idea and waits to see if any better plans are proposed.
"Also, did anyone stop Creach? Our element of surprise may go out the window... if he has already flown in through their window."
As he stands there, an idea occurs to Zimm. Suddenly, an exclamation appears in the air above his head and remains for a moment before disappearing. minor illusion
"Hang on, hang on. What if..." he scratches his chin and looks off into the distance as though thinking about something very profound. "We know there is something of a turf war happening between these Zhents and X-Factor. Could we use that to our advantage? One of the gangs is already after us, supposedly. If we are seen breaking a prisoner away from the Zhents then both could be on our heels. Is there a way we could break Floon out, but make it look like we are really agents of X? That way no blame would fall on us from the Zhents, and it would instead send them hot after X... maybe giving us some breathing room in the process...". Zimm is practically beaming as he finishes and looks around the group for approval. Then his brow furrows and he looks off into the distance again. "Of course, I am not yet sure how to actually accomplish this plan...".

"There Creach is. Creach, fly up to the roof, see if there's any holes or windows on top you can open. If not. Create one, I guess. That way you have the height advantage with your bow." He squints. "Do you have a bow?" A quick turning to the Elven rogue. "Here ya go." Erek reaches over to touch her shoulder. Has she ever had divine energy flow through her? If not. It must be an odd feeling.
Either way: Blessing of the Trickster. Advantage on Stealth rolls. Lasts for one hour.

"We aren't even sure if they're after us. If I was the Guild, I would have simply cut your throats in your sleep. Let's be cautious but not overtly paranoid."
No one stopped him but once he realized no one was following him and the energy from the coffee wore off a little he realized he was being over-anxious. I do believe he broke the sound barrier though.
”Hold on, THAT’S BRILLIANT ZIMM! From what it seems, these X-men are really proud of themselves for no reason whatsoever. So if we can bust out Floon silently, we can just leave a note in his place saying best regards from Xanathar Guild or something like that!”
When the gnome at the Old Xoblob Shop was asked by Thaddeus about the 'incident', he just says, "Oh, a gas spore blew up on me when I was in the Underdark, and ever since I breathed the vapors I've seen things a little differently."
(I'm a little uncertain where everyone is at the moment, I'm going to assume you all are heading to Candle Lane? If anyone else had something to buy you can do so retroactively.)
You head the way the gnome and the bartender both directed you. The buildings on either side of Candle Lane are so tall and so tightly packed together that light will only touch the street at highsun. Gloom envelops the narrow alley as dark as a dungeon — and as odorous as one, too. Nearly all the streetlamps have been smashed. The only light that pierces the darkness is a faint flickering from down the lane, like a distant candle.

Thaddeus will respond with an amazed expression. “Gas spores? Wow that’s amazing, and you’re lucky to be alive!”
”Listen, I’ve got a bit of a problem and I hope you can help. We’ve been hired to find this Floon character and are on his trail. I for one don’t care much for foppish rich folk but they tend to pay well when you can get a contract from one, you know what I mean? Anyway, we may have to defend ourselves. We aren’t sure who took him but these Zhents you mentioned may be just the bastards. Could you cut me a deal? I’m looking for 2 healer’s kits and a bundle of crossbow bolts. What do you say?”14 Persuasion
Xoblob the gnome (for that is his name; Xoblob is also the name of the stuffed beholder) thinks. "How about this: ten dragons for the two kits, and the bolts come free."
"My friend means to say is we're going to be informing the proper authorities, because we're not the City Watch and the City Watch hates vigilantes! But we might run into trouble along the way! Caix enters the Old Xoblob Shop and smiles at the gnome as she comes in, looking about at the enormous variety of purple items. Squelching the joy of finally shopping for herself, she moves about quickly knowing time is of the essence. She selects a deep purple set of traveling clothes, 5 purple clay jars of oil, a healer's kit in a purple tin and a light purple bar of soap. Then sharing Thaddeus' amazement that the gnome survived his ordeal, she lays her items carefully on the counter and waits for their conversation to conclude listening to the information with obvious interest.
Once its her turn at the counter, she moves the items over in front of her. "Beautiful shop! I don't believe I've seen so many shades of purple in my lifetime. I will definitely be back, many times, and tell every single friend I have about it! Here is what I have," she says presenting the pile, "Is this sufficient?" She asks presenting him with 7 gold pieces smiling sweetly.(this is 8 silver short of the total according to the character sheet if I added it up correctly, not sure his prices) persuasion12
*To the other plan, if I understand correctly. She is happy to scout ahead, then act the prisoner as likely the frailest looking of the group and could actually provide props showing empty pouches with possibly a scrap of something identifiable found in them? (DM allowing of course.) I may have it wrong though. Prisoner transfer, go in dragging her as captive, leave with Floon with her sneaking out with them?
Olaerys is likewise interested in the shop of curiosities and the choice of the color palette. He looks around and decides to purchase 1 purple crowbar, 1 purple hammer and 10 purple pitons, as well as a bag of 20 purple caltrops. He counts out 4 gold dragons and 5 silver pieces, hoping this will cover his purchases. He runs along to catch up with the crew and crouches down to listen as they are planning their approach to Candle Lane.
"A scout up high would be advantageous. I see there is a light flickering down the lane. How about we hide 2 or 3 buildings down, we have Creach go up as a spotter, and Caix scout out the building ahead with the dim candlelight, eh? If you run into trouble, shout out (Caix or Creach) and we will come running! Otherwise sneak back to us with the information and we will set up our approach. Does that sound good?" Olaerys looks around at each of you, puts his hand forward in the huddle.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
"Ok, I'll scout up there, I just need a while to... er, change lenses, so to speak. I would appreciate it if everyone could be a bit quieter, It's a bit harder to do this outside the wild." Creach says, turning to fly off before turning back and saying; "We should probably agree on some form of communication so I can warn you huh?" He reaches into his bag and pulls out a mask you haven't seen him wear before. It seems tribal, a bone mask with hairs of beasts braided into it and teeth hanging from the braids.
"Ah, don't take off yet!" His arms flap as if he'll take off after Creach, even though that's not how it remotely works. Still. He tries to at least tap at Creach's foot. If he manages to catch the man, Creach can feel divine energy flowing through him.

Looking at all of them, "I'll see what I can find out down of the ground, while Creach checks things out above. Maybe once we have a little more information. We may proceed with another part of the plan. Otherwise, if things get chaotic, I'll try to follow the lead of whomever is involved."
After Creach's change in appearance and departure, Caix will creep forward towards the warehouse, trying to remain unnoticed, utilizing anything available for cover. stealth20
