This campaign is my 'never-ending' campaign, where there is a module-heavy focus with homebrew as needed (especially near the 'epilogue' of the campaign).
The party makeup is currently a Tanky paladin, a healer-cleric, and a skittish rogue. The player you will be replacing was a sort of tank/healer combo. They found they didn't have enough time to play often enough for what I wanted for the campaigns 'pace.'
What I'm looking for:
Consistent players who can post atleast once every-other-day. THis isn't a hard rule so long as you keep me informed of your status, such as "Hey X popped up, I can't post today" etc on the discord chat (The discord is the 'table' not the game, the game is on the forums) because it only takes 4 seconds to pop in and say something (Have respect for your fellow players and DM's game by keeping us up to date!)
Players who actually post more than 1-2 lines. I understand that some scenarios make posting more than a line or two impossible (such as walking through a door your character wouldn't know what was on the other side, and thus you can only post 'i go inside' and then have to wait for the results) but ive had players posting nothing BUT 1-2 lines the entire time, or players with unrealistic reactions (One dumped an active cooking pot over on himself, was informed the scalding water enveloped his shins and feet for a few moments and acted like nothing happened)
Long story short is I want players who actually 'want' to play, not just participate. (and by participate, i mean be that guy with his cellphone out at the table, who when its his/her turn goes "Huh, what happened? Oh is it my turn?") As well as players who can respect mine AND the other players enough to say 'hey i can't post today' instead of disappearing for X days in utter silence.
Now I will END recruiting at midnight my time. It is currently 2 PM my time. That means in roughly 10 hours from the time of this post.
If you don't want lost mines of phandelver spoiled, skip the 'in the story so far' part directly after this.
In the story so far, they have done the lost mines pf phandelver campaign in its entirety, have gained access to a small town for use as a 'home base' by renovating Thundertree. They took out the bandit group holding the town of Phandelver hostage, defeated an orc warband, overcame "The Spider," fought off a green dragon, and now, a year later (in campaign) are on their way to silverymoon. There they found 'something wrong' and that is where you will be jumping in to the story. This group is surface-level famous now. They're just starting to gain repute and so your character 'might' have heard about their exploits at some point, however your character wouldn't know about the 'issues' at Silverymoon.
Character Creation:
You may pick any stat generation method, if you choose to roll you may pick the 'reroll ones ONCE' option. However once you've generated your stats, that will be your stats. Please write a breif (no more than two paragraphs) backstory of your character.
You will start at level 5.
Any race/class is allowed. I won't stop you from picking those 'tattoo stat' things but I am verynot fond of them, so keep that in mind.
I have a homebrew rule for combat that I will explain to whomever is chosen, that gives additional options for 'reactions.'
If asking for a roll would interrupt a post, I will usually roll for the player (I.E. in the middle of writing a combat post, and need a save) but I prefer to let players handle their own rolls whenever possible, so long as it wouldn't stall the game playing 'phone tag.' as it were.
I have a tendency to pick more unique combinations.

(I normally format my posts much better but trying to get this out. I look forward to seeing who applies.
Breif Backstory: Before he was a warforged he was a famous half orc artificer famed for his skills in working as a blacksmith. Not wanting to leave his elven lover alone as he felt age start to catch up with him he began to research ways to extend his life for as long as he could. Using all of his wealth he managed to hire adventures to gather what he needed in order to go through with his work, slowly overtime building what would become his future body.
As his experiments continued he learned that the magic required would lead him down a dark path, failing to realize that while good intentioned in his own mind others would not find it this way. With the materials and help required he pulled his soul out of his aged body and put it into a new vessel, awakening as a Warforged. In his new body he continued to live his life but slowly drifted away from his love as she could not accept what he did. In order to win her affections back he set out to prove he was still who he had been before.
Breif Backstory: A servant to a sect of Malar worshippers, Gimkahm was exposed to all the ongoings of the order. For years his loyalty to his clan members held him in line. But this last score of years had seen most of his brethren slain, sacrificed or just simply starved to death.
A power had been building in him for many moons, culminating one night in a fiery outburst against one of his master's. With words alone he had set the guard on fire. He fled fearing death and has lived off the forest and streams for longer than he cares remember. His fiery rage fuelling his desire for revenge.

Brief Backstory: Radis was born with powerful magical abilities. Uncontrolled, however, they caused a lot of trouble. For that reason, Radis' parents sent her to study magic under a wizard. Not being particularly rich though, they couldn't afford to send her to any powerful or experienced wizard and settled for an apprentice. It didn't work out so well, as Radis proved to be a failure of a student. She managed to learn very little before she finally decided to quit. Seeking a place where her untamed magic wouldn't hurt many others, she ended up working on a ship. Or, so she thought. It was a pirate ship, and their job offer was a trick to capture people they'd sell as slaves. When Radis realised what's going on, she made a huge display of her power, threatening to damage the ship beyond repair (or, at least, the pirates believed she might do so). She didn't want to go back to land, though, and decided to become a pirate, not giving the pirates much of a choice. About two decades have passed, and Radis acquired many enemies on that ship. Finally, she decided to leave the ship and go back to live on the land. Hoping to lay low so nobody who might still seek her will find her, she goes a little farther inland, away from the sea. Eventually, she reaches Silverymoon. She has gone far enough, it's time to stop. But, after living such an active life on the ship, how long could she just sit and lay low anyway?
Sølvloki is a fairly simple man, (4/1)Fighter/Druid, who began life as a basher and began to see the Light of aiding his fellow beings in dealing with their afflictions. He still understands the necessity of a good bashing administered to those in need, mind, but there are the other sorts of days as well; days when one hand taketh away and days when the other hand giveth succor if you would. But not if he thinks you don't deserve what either hand giveth. Of course, during a good bar brawl, which he loves, especially after hoisting a couple dozen horns, he ends up giving from both hands to the same folk.
He is a dependable and steady fellow (as is his manipulator [moi]) regularly checking up on things the are 'cooking'.
I have been playing for quite some time and post regularly and can get a bit verbose at times but, not too bad, a couple of paragraphs generally.
Danfi belongs to the Benevolent Order of the Purple Orchid, a monastery dedicated to healing. Following their ascension to full members of the Order, a monk is expected to spend from one to five years traveling the world and healing people and doing other good deeds. Danfi has spent the last eight months traveling from town to town, healing those people who need healing. In his first four months, he spent most of his time in the Village of Greenest following the attack on that town by a green dragon. During his time in Greenest, he helped the town rebuild and helped care for some of the injured. He also assisted in fending off several kobold attacks and a few bandits who were hoping to take advantage of a town in disarray. Once things settled down, the monk moved on to other areas along the Sword Coast. Upon hearing about Phandelver and the goings on in that town, the monk decided to head that direction to see what he could learn and if his services were needed.
I'll post a character sheet once I've finished filling it out.
Brief Backstory: Once, in the distant future, the githyanki kith'rak named Riz'a'an was a valiant and devoted servant of his queen Vlaakith. When he grew too powerful, strong enough to be a threat to her, he met the fate of many of her soldiers - summary execution via soul-harvest. Desperate, Riz'a'an expended the greatest of his magics and hurled himself to a place - and time - where he would avoid her gaze. Arriving, barely alive on Toril, he found that he had been sent back decades - perhaps longer - in time and had been greatly diminished in the effort. Lacking his magic armaments and his draconic mount, Riz'a'an was now at least armed with knowledge.
In the decade since, Riz'a'an has been wandering western Faerun, seeking further power. He is certain he will someday have to face Vlaakith - her grasp over the githyanki was a tyranny not unlike that of the mind flayers. He hoped to be ready for that confrontation when it had to happen. But for now, he is laying low on the Material Plane, experimenting with magic and grasping at the remnants of the unique spell that sent him back to begin with. He has heard of trouble in Silverymoon and knows other adventurers are on their way to investigate.
(Will update with a link to the character sheet, but that's the brief backstory.)
How does a child survive growing up amidst the eternal Blood War between demons and devils? “With a laugh and a smile” Terrissa’s succubus mother would say. So when she stood before the demon host, she would dance and sing the praises of the princes of chaos. She learned the art of gaining favor with powerful fiends and plotting against those who called her “half-human scum”. She survived in the harsh outer planes, somewhat envious of the less violent realms of the material plane.
One day while foraging a battle on Carceri, Terrissa came upon a party of dark elf Primers who had an especially nasty run in with a marilith. Only the dark elf wizard was clinging to life when she approached. She offered the wizard aid in exchange for passage to the material plane. And so she fled her hosts, in search of the father she never knew in a world she had only imagined.
Laila Greenleaf is an druid, a respected and powerful member of a circle of shapeshifters. Her impulsiveness and audacity are responsible for the many adventures she has undertaken; she is often away from the grove for months. Her impulsivity and audacity are also responsible for Tobin. Not at all shy about boasting of her exploits, she'll freely admit that not only does she not know who Tobin's father is, she's not sure what Tobin's father is. She thinks it might have been that chimera she met.
Tobin was raised by the druids of the circle, and his interpersonal skills reflect the relative isolation of the grove. Not only that, he seems to have his anonymous father's temperament and will let loose his bestial aggression in impressively violent ways when provoked. He does not let himself be provoked often, however, and maintains healthy control over that temper. He does recognize its potential for good, and seeks to explore that potential.
Brief Backstory: Gullock's tribe, the Foxtail tribe, prides itself on its heroic legacy. Members of the Foxtail tribe have been responsible for great feats: the death of dragons, giants, and more. But that was long ago, now his tribe has no drive; the rest of the laurels of their ancestors and don't pursue greatness anymore. As the apprentice to the tribe's shaman, Gullock has learned all the stories of his tribe's greatest warriors by heart and he wishes to see his tribe rise back to prominence.
So, he has set out to Silverymoon to seek heroes who can inspire new stories - stories to stir his tribe to action once again.
