"And things just get more and more fun around here." Robin says with a sigh. She gives the halfling a smile. "Would you say it best to just toss that dagger down the alley we found it and forget we ever saw it then, or is there someone we should turn it in to?"
The halfling shrugs. "You could bring it to a guard station, but unless you have an identity or anything on who it belongs to, it likely won't be anything new. We know there's Order in the city, the issue is finding them. Just finding a dagger with their symbol isn't really news."
Case looks at the group without emotion, "The Emerald Order is interested in us? I believe it's possible that they are behind the plot on the king...are aware of our exploits stopping their plans in Teryk. In which case they may have supposed we've learned of their plots and are headed to warn the king. If that is the case, then it seems likely that they are testing us, and trying to determine if it's worth attempting to try to stop us, or accept that the king will be informed and planning around it. Of course all of this is conjecture on my part. It seems best to hunker down and try to avoid trouble for two days, rather than attempting to take out a cell of Emerald Order agents."
Case plans on sitting in the common room all night and does not purchase any food. His flying automaton is perched outside, watching any back or side entrances, while Case faces the front doors. His metallic dog lays on the floor next to him.

Pieste Mor would, of course, room with Jax. They would also point out that we’ve already been attacked once, we should group up and post guards. But they are certainly not imposing it upon anyone…
Drego and Stitch will share a room, but the ranger will move the Gobbo down to the common room to sleep on a bench near Case when he takes his guard shift. Drego has learned his lesson about leaving Stitch unattended. He'll also cast Alarm on their room when he's sleep - as much to keep the gobbo in as anyone out.
Drego would organize a formal watch rotation - not just during the night, but all day as well during their stay. His watchfulness would dance right up to the line of paranoia.
Robin would summon a couple Unseen Servants to help wash her back and do odd jobs in her room as she is preparing for bed. She would summon another, just before going to sleep, to clean and organize her gear while she sleeps. Her familiar is perched in her room, keeping watch while she sleeps. She would ask one of the others to cast alarm on her window and door, before she retires to her room for the bath.
Péiste Mór is not thrilled with the party splitting up this much. Robin in a room alone, Case downstairs alone and then Stitch and Drego and Jax and himself in rooms paired up. He suggests it would make much more sense for the four to cram into one room. It would mostly be three sleeping and one on watch anyway. The dragon doesn't like Robin and Case being alone like that... But will not order them to do other than they wish.
Besides expressing their opinion, Péiste Mór will concede to whatever plan for watches and sleeping arrangements that Drego feels is most practical, including taking a turn on watch whenever assigned.
Drego gladly opens his room to share with Jax and the tiny dragon - he's slept in tighter quarters and with the two full sized creatures each taking a watch the room will be largely empty most of the time.
Case nods to the dragon, "Perhaps you are right, it would be wise to not be alone. Very well. I am happy sitting in any particular room. My dog will sit out in the hallway and growl if anyone approaches. My flying companion will watch from outside, patrolling to watch the entrances."

Stitch is very much aware of Drego’s increased awareness in his movements and stays near the Rangers side as much as he can. Even on watch with him, if Drego allows it.
Robin would consider joining the others, but she would need the innkeep to give her a private place to bathe still, as she is not doing that in the room with the others. If she can get that, then she would be willing to join the others for the rest of the night.
Jax is happy to sleep anywhere. Before he does so, after dinner in the common room, he smokes his pipe and quietly asks a sleepy PM (and anyone else aassembled), "so that mummy we protected, they were emerald claw, according to the elves. And the mummy was fine with this mission of ours. But this assassin with the dagger, they seemingly were not. What is going on?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
I'll assume Drego's taking 4th, then!
You all head to bed, falling quietly asleep.
Robin's watch passes without incident.
PM's watch passes without incident.
Jax's watch passes without incident.
On Drego's watch, however, something happens...
Shrieks echo through the room as two spectral figures, one of whom you recognize as the same person who attacked you last night, burst through the floor and dive right at the sleeping Jax and Stitch!
I need a DC 13 Charisma ST from Jax and Stitch against being possessed by the ghosties.
