Once the investigating was over and things settled back down, PM would squirm and squiggle and puff out some sighs of smoke, but eventually would end up in some comfortable position with Stitch that wasn’t entirely undignified…
Unfortunately, none of you find anything particularly of note, neither traces of the ghosts nor suggestions of special reasons why they weren't able to possess Jax and Stitch.
You may finish your LR! Let me know if there's anything else you want to do before breakfast the next day.
Robin yawns as she tucks the wand back under her pillow. "How rude to interupt our sleep..." She grumbles as she then fluffs the pillow and lays back down on it. Pulling the covers up, Robin is soon fast asleep again.
Case sits in the corner quietly watching the room for the remainder of the evening. Then gets up and checks in with his two pets as he goes downstairs for the morning to take a spot at the breakfast table. Not eating anything, he is free to talk. "Why do you suppose that agent, who was supposed to report to someone, would then come attack us again as a ghost? Seems unusually...persistent."

Jax says the note said alive or dead, so he’s not surprised the agent was persistent.
He takes another trance for another full long rest. He really had some things to think about. When he comes to, he is calmer. He asks the group what they should do for the day, and if anyone has been in this city before.
Drego stalks the halls for the last part of his watch, cleaning and carefully reloading his hand crossbow as he does.
Joining the rest of the party at breakfast he listens as Jax asks about what they should do, or where they should go.
Good questions both. Especially since everywhere they go someone is trying to kill them. 'Maybe we should see if we can run down any more information on these extremists who seem to want us dead...'
“…we could go to the authorities, but they may frown upon our having killed someone and not reported it…” PM suggests. “… t’would be nice to know more about the Emerald Claw but could be dangerous to just ask around…”
Case considers, "The law is an option I believe. We are agents of the empire. Not only are we in good standing with the authorities, but we are also on a mission specifically for the crown which further increases our position. I believe if we simply explain that we were ambushed in an alley, and that our mission required us to proceed at haste from the scene, that any reasonable person of the law should be understanding. However, I'm not sure if they will have more information for us. Indeed, we are in dangerous wether we ask about the Emerald Claw or not. They know where we are sleeping. So I would suggest we may as well ask around."

“Why sleep here again then? We should move.” Jax says, grabbing his pack, and then his pet dragon, gently placing them in their customary resting spot at the apex of the pack.
As you all are discussing over breakfast what to do next, three men in black splint armor with the red blood drop symbol of the Blood of Vol emblazoned on the chest enter the inn. Their eyes immediately fasten on you, and they walk over, their voices firm but not threatening. “Excuse me. Your presence is requested at the Crimson Monastery by Priest Torvos. He wishes to speak to you about a matter of grave importance.” They glance around the room. “We can’t say more here. Please, follow us.”
Case stands up almost immediately, "Yes of course sir. First you must tell us how you know of us and how you knew where to find us. Then we will follow you. But not before."

"...and if you please, what do you know of the Emerald Claw?" the dragon interjects. "...we met a representative earlier and would dearly love to return their dagger to them..."
The guards look between the two of you. "Your encounter with the Order member is why Priest Torvos wishes to speak with you," one says simply. "You have not precisely kept a low profile since arriving here."
“…we are not exactly the blend in types, as evidenced but your spotting is so quickly, yea?” PM quips. “…but we are strangers here, unsure of the customers and norms…”
The dragon flies up a foot or two, to get a better view, then calls out “… excuse me, bartender? are these gentlemen actually authority type figures? would hate to be ambushed in this fine, upstanding, safe haven of a city… again…”
But if all checks out, PM is willing to go with these gentlemen.
Drego's hand drifts towards his holstered weapon, keeping his eyes trained on the armed and armored figures as his companions question them. LIke Jax with PM, he instinctively reaches out and pulls Stitch up onto his customary position on his back. Eyeing the barbarians' backpack and PM's comfy perch, the ranger makes a mental note to talk to Case about building a riding harness of somesort....
Drego relaxes the tiniest of bits as the bartender confirms the Crimson Monastery soldiers. He didn't let his guard down though, he as he stood to follow them out of the Tavern. Seems like trouble kept finding them - from the initial encounter on the road to the ghostly assailants last night, someone or something wanted them dead.

Jax nods, ready to move, and looking at the party, eyebrows raised.

The bartender looks over. "That's Crimson Monastery armor." they confirm.
