Brenfaen sees the female figure, hearing the others as he nods in agreement with Tine. "We have nothing else to go on right now, so we might as well see." he then said back, following them to the house.
"Hello, there!" Says the woman as you all approach, her accent similar to Romanian, but it's not Romanian. She's a roguish figure, dressed very swashbucklery. A hand waves. Hers, to be exact. "My name is Ireena Kolyana. My partner, inside, is Tatyana. Are you here to investigate the house, too?"
Tobin approaches the house but turns before he gets too close. "I don't like talking to people," he says, stating the obvious. "Why don't one of you bunch see if you can sweet-talk her into letting us go home?"
Robin shakes her head, but moves on up to the house. "Good day." She says in gretting. "I am Robin Holdcrest, and these, well, are people I met on my journey here." She waves to the group with her. "As for investigating the house, not so much, we were sent invitations that brought us here. I was told I would find something I had lost, but I have a feeling that was just to wet my curiosity more than anything of actual truth." Robin glances over the house, then back to the woman. "What is so special about this place that it needs investigating?"
Tine will just move next to Robin and give them a smile"I'm Tine. This is a pretty house, looks like its got some stories in those walls."she just let's Robin take over the talking after she introduces herself.
Brenfaen sees the woman, hearing her and then Robin. "Yes, we had much different reasons for being here. Where exactly did you and your partner come from before being at this house?" he then says to her, curious. Did she receive a letter like the rest of them?
She ushers everyone inside, "Well. We don't know about any invitations. But we have heard of people getting lost in the Mists and appearing..." Ireena hesitates for a moment. Then. "elsewhere. I have never seen any of you, so I assume you are not from around here." She wets her lips as she glances to Robin, first. "It's... haunted. And more haunted than anything else we've come across. It's... we would like to know what made it what it is. And see if we can set those spirits trapped in these halls free." Eyes cutting to Brenfaen. "We come from Sturben-" None of you have ever heard of that, "which we can take you to after our work is complete."
"You assume you can take us anywhere." Robin says with a frown. "I tried to take these others back to Sharn, but was unable to do so. I would guess you will fair just as successfully as myself if you were to try."
Tobin hangs back, reluctant to enter the lair; but once everyone else has been guided inside, it seemed pointless to refuse. He, too, enters. When Ireena notes that the Mist has gone, Tobin looks back through the rain, searching for the path that leads back home - or any path, for that matter. "Mother's milk in a cup!" he swears. "What is this place?!"
"Listen. You can leave now. Or. You can help us. We'll pay you! 20 gold a day." There's paths. Several paths. But since you're on a hill... you can see the lay of the land. And none of the landmarks that should be there... are there.
Brenfaen listened to the woman, shocked to hear that it was haunted and that there are spirits trapped there. Were they killed and how if they are still haunting that place? Then he heard them say the Mist was gone, turning around and it was gone. But the landmarks were gone as well, sighing. Great, it does not seem like any of them can find their way back to their homes. "If we aren't able to get back, then we should help them for now as opposed to staying outside where it seems to change unpredictably." Brenfaen said back, thinking. Maybe helping set these spirits free can be his way of atoning for the past.
"I am willing to put off finding our way back home for now." Robin says with a frown over her shoulder and just now noticing the mists are gone. "I am much more interested in learning why we were brought to this place, and what secrets this house holds." She nods to the investigators. "I'll aid you in learning what we can of this house and those who use to live here."
Tine hestitates for a moment at the offer as she takes a deep breath "I'll help...maybe it'll make a great story..." she says as if trying to push past some fear.
Irritated and impatient, the halfling speaks up. "If we're all done pretendin' we have any choice in the matter, can we just get on with the job? Twenty gold sounds nice an' all, but I jus wanna be outta this trap. I suppose burnin this place down isn't the solution yer askin for. So...what do you want from us?"
Peeling wallpaper and a musty scent cling to the walls of this spacious foyer. A curving staircase rises from the cracked tile floor to a balcony above, keeping its distance from a darkened chandelier. Doors lead in every direction. At the room’s center, a bronze sculpture of an antlered eagle perches atop a marble pedestal.
This is the room that this woman leads you into, and soon, even deeper. Ez gestures, "You can always venture out on your own, explore the house on your own. We won't get in your way." She promises, opening the door. Allowing first sight of the room, and the woman within. Someone of nobler origin than Ez. From their clothing.
The room...
Dozens of faded portraits cover this parlor’s walls, the subjects’ eyes fixed on a circular table that bears an ornate spirit board. A wide mirror hangs over a tall fireplace set in the north wall.
The woman...
Is currently searching all over. Under the furniture, under the cushions of the couches, the chairs. Brushing her hands all over the floor. Not noticing any of you yet.

Errrm. Breena isn't even in the campaign.

You can roll insight checks if you want to determine whether Ez is determining the truth or not, btw.
"Did you lose something?" Robin asks the searching woman with a raised eyebrow. "Need help finding it?"
