Round 5
Marlyth has decided to take the search action in order to investigate the nature and durability of the Wall of Fire, since she suspects that it is another illusion and will maintain safe distance from the barrier.
The wall of fire is very real. It is as the spell completely. A successful investigation reveals this.
<I'm not rolling the damage for the melee people because I think I was unclear in my correction. I said the 20ft greater image should have dropped when Exul cast the opaque of fire 20ft in diameter around himself. I failed to explicitly include Imix in the radius and you would have thus seen him vanish if I was 100% RAW accurate, but the wall of fire is still there and I have ruled the dispell effective against the illusion was a success. Because of my error and subsequent confusion, I'm not penalizing people who tries to punch a fire thing through a wall of fire, which oddly would have worked, just dealt non-negligible damage to the attackers. Because this is dragging and getting g confusing especially with the party splitting up, I'm resolving the situation now.>
Exul, fearing for his life and unwilling to die in service of this cause about which he has little interest casts Plane shift on himself and vanishes. The column of flames likewise subsides.
<Unseen by the PCs, Exul, on the Plane of Fire, cringes in expectation of the great pain that will meet him as a result of acting against the geas placed upon him. To his surprise, though, the pain never comes. After a moment he concludes, it must have been Marlyth, when she dispelled magic from Exul, she released him from the geas.>
The library is still on fire though. There are more rooms down there. A surface scan kf the red wizard's thoughts reveal visions of zombies bringing gifts of gold and small ornate trinkets to a small child with a shock of red hair, who gleeful receives them.
The scene shifts and he thinks instead of a woman, scant of hair, reaching a hand out to the young wizard laying before you, a warm smile on her face, only revealing its cruelty as she urges her hand into his chest and rends from his ribs the still beating heart, burning in white-hit flame, which she extinguishes as she crushes the organ. Blood pours to the floor.
"That's right you better run!" Weneon says before looking at the fire with a shrug. "Well, let's group up again." She heads toward the largest group of party members
Seeing the final opponent disappear, Angus will see if there are any books, scrolls, etc that can still be saved. If there are, he will attempt to once again smother the flames with a bedroll or whatever else seems handy.
Being unconscious, the wizard is both unable to resist the mental probing but also less than lucid in his response.
<Edit: additional description, using names. You got names from Lothar in the tavern, these match the descriptions.>
{You see the woman (Morwena) from before standing beside the the wizard you are interrogating. They stand facing another gentleman in a blue cloak. There is arguing, then the Morwena leaves the side of our unconscious subject (Malivar) and joins the opposing mage. Lightning, frost and a variety of other spell effects criss-cross the room in an epic mage duel. The ground trembles and an earth elemental grabs the ankles of the wizard before you as a font of flames takes human form and a flaming are cleaves the air before you. Then: Black. The sound of a single word echoes in your mind, in tones of curiosity, agony, remorse, and rahe. A timber first baleful, then furious, and finally fatigued; "Tyreus"}

To historians, sages, and collectors in a college or university, the value of the library’s non- magical collection is up to 4,000 gp. Two spell scrolls also remain in the collection: one scroll of Otiluke’s freezing sphere, and one scroll of wall of stone.
Marlyth will evocate Darkness at the tip of her Quarterstaff by whispering to the spirits of nature:
"Ɛហ Ɛҽ ǶԱហօហͲ"
Then she will aim the tip of the wooden weapon at the burning flames which has been trying to engulf the rich collection of books and scrolls. Darkness emits from the point of her choice and creates a spherical area of effect to dominate the place with a radius of 15 feet and within 60 feet range.
The library has a 15ft section now darkened. This does not pit out any fires as a matter of course, but the fires have by now been extinguished thanks to the diligent efforts kf the party.
The wizard is still passed out and being interrogated on level 2.
The library on floor three has two teleportation circles on the floor, and the east wall opens to a corridor. Bits of curved marble and stone discs that used to form columns suggest a place that was important once. Now it is smashed to ruin.
Some of the stones move about on their own, picking through the rubble.
Marlyth will cast Detect Magic immediately after dismissing the previously cast Darkness spell by using the Totem as a focus. Angus or anyone else who had been within the area of effect of the previous spell, might have been temporarily Blinded, and the dismissal will end the condition.
"Good job everyone! The fire has been extinguished and there's no visible threat."
(@Wile_E_Coyote, Are the Steles with Sigils from the first and second level still active?)
The paladin addresses Calner, and asks, "Were you able to finish exploring the upper level? If so, I suggest we proceed down the corridor to the east of the library."
"Calner, did you extract any other information from the wizard? Where did you find him? How's his current condition? He must be disappointed at this disheartening event"- asks Marlyth while attempting to concentrate on the spellcasting to find any magical remains that might be visible within a distinguishable aura influenced by Detect Magic.
<Steles are still active except one that was disabled and one that hit three wolves, so that would be the two unfinished ones near the catacombs where you found the red wizard.>
The crumbled east corridor shows signs of movement among the rubble. As Tabaqui investigates, he is attacked by two earth elementals. He is not surprised.
Tabaqui will use his uncanny dodge to halve the damage of the first attack, making the total damage 16.
On his turn he will bonus action disengage and use his action to helpAngus by distracting the elemental, then he will retreat 35 ft away from the melee.
Round 5
Safeguard sees the illusion disappear and exclaims, "What tomfoolery that was! We cannot let you burn any more books!!!"
He rushes toward the Exul and does a 1-2 punch
1st Attack: Thunder Gauntlets - 23 > Damage: 9
2nd Attack: Thunder Gauntlets - 24 > Damage: 10
*If either attack lands on the Exul it now has disadvantage on attack rolls against targets other than Safeguard until the start of my next turn.
