As the trolls drop around him, Gridolpho notices the Oni taking flight. Releasing his rapier and dagger, he fumbles to retrieve and load his hand crossbow. The thief brings it to bear just a hair too late and holds off on releasing the bolt.
"FECK!"
Retrieving his blades from the ground, he rushes over and retrieves his now soot coated dagger from a dead troll and begins obsessively inspecting it for any damage from Perrin's spell.
Balancing, tossing, juggling, testing the edges, the wrapping of the hilt, he finally returns it to its usual hiding place. Gridolpho gives Perrin a quick, hard look before going about searching the trolls for anything of worth or note.
Each of the trolls carries a pouch with assorted pilfered valuables. Strangely, each seems to carry morr value than a forest scavenger should. The contents are as follows:
A total of 250gp
A polished jade pearl (100gp)
A shard of onyx (50gp)
Your investigation seems to indicate that the trolls were pawns of the oni, compensated in spoils from raiding. Most evident are the semi-healed scars they bear which indicate many recent skirmishes.
(The oni has 76 hp left if someone wanted to try and bring it down. SPOILER: It may be casting something along the lines of Invisibility on it's next turn :P Until then....)
Wounded, but alive, the oni's form melts away into the canopy, it's deep, rumbling laughter echoing through the trees. For those fluent it calls out in Giant, "The Masters will be expecting you..." After looting the trolls and moving safely away from the site, it is getting to late afternoon. From your determination of the map, you would have just over half a day (16 hours) of travel to reach your destination. Another push forward (4 hours) and it will be night.
(Encounters are rolled on every 4-hour block of time, but a DC 15 survival check can increase it to a 6-hour block, thus removing potential encounters before your destination)

Vaike has Robes of Eyes which allows him to see invisible creatures and have a near perfect 360 degree plane of vision. When the Oni flees to the tree top, Vaike pulls his sword from the corpse of the Troll and casts Command, with the intent of the Oni to approach him. (Wisdom check: 15 for Oni)

Wow... So this roller REALLY wants the oni to die. Yellow bands of energy entwine its arms and legs, pulling it to the ground. So, it plays out as follows:
Perrin heals the party, Caelynn melts the oni's will to fight, Grthdolpho loots the trolls, Vaike compels the oni to approach on its next turn, Sohyme pulls it to the ground, and Kyrthas positions himself by Sohyme to tear the blue devil apart. Now for what's left of the Oni's turn!
It will approach (on foot of course), but take the Dodge action first, thus imposing disdavantage on all incoming attacks for the round. Sohyme, Caelynn, Kyrthas, and Perrin take opportunity attacks. First one to hit stops movement, per the Command spell (if the command causes damage, the spell ends).

While I can still see the oni, I lash out at its mind with an ego whip for 15.
OOC: Int save for half. On a failure, it can't use its action on its next turn to do anything other than Dodge, Disengage, or Hide.
Can't let it get away and tell its friends, now can I? "All right, Rising Star; let's bring it down!"

Perrin sighs. Then in an irritated voice, he says:
"I have had enough of this. No more flying, no more lies, threats and wasting time.
Acta hydrologica."
A 5-foot pillar of water drops directly on the Oni, to keep it from trying to fly again.
Tidal wave. Oni must take Dex 17 save or take 19 damage and get knocked prone.
Will this be the landslide to end the fight? Dex: 19. Yup.
The torrent of water proves too much and the magical giant is brought low, heaving and retching. In a blind panic, it seems to offer a hand to halt.
