“I am...” Kythas fights against a low branch that get stucked with his axe while he was drawing it “...standing... “ he steps on a root and it cracks under his weight, throwing him to the ground with a THUD!! “...still!!” He finish trying to stand up and cover behind the brush he had selected before but not hoping to recover any dignity

Perrin ponders momentarily. Then, as has become natural for him, he lets nature magic solve the problems.
Pass without Trace The usual magical aura descends on the party, making them leave no tracks and muffiling sounds made by the goliath (+10 to Stealth). Perrin quickly remarks:
"With this we are almost as good as Grido. Almost".
Perrin then tries to hide on the opposite side of the track, away from the sounds. (Stealth 18)
He then whispers: "get off the road, quick!"
Pass without trace used with the staff ability. Since we had a long rest, we back up to full health/spell slots, right?
Perrin's spell is too late to stop the goliath's initial racket, but all noise following is muffled and previously broken overgrowth is renewed. The group you are approaching has stopped their movement. Perhaps they have discovered you? Maybe they were discovered by something else?

"Feck it. If y'all are gonna stomp about like bulls in the market and then use magic to compensate for yer poor trainin', I'ma take a look fer myself."
Breaking cover from Kyrthas, the second story man quickly scales a nearby tree and surveys the nearby area. All while remaining covered by branches and leaves.
Gridolpho's scouting confirms the same as Sohyme's commune with the local animals: a dozen lizardmen are converging on a nearby camp from all angles. There is no fire or sign of life aside from a single, large tent leaning against a tree.

You are easily in place to ambush the unwitting and distracted lizardmen. You can only make contact with the first three before the other are alerted, but it should stop their advance.

The area they are aproaching is a clearing about 20' wide. Gridolpho can make out at least a dozen approaching from all angles. If you are looking for an AoE effect, you could catch 3-4 in a 20' blast.

Depends on the size of the AoE. Anything that would hit that many would also hit the clearing, including the tent within.

The squirrel holds up its paws, "More than this many. Tallgrass is a friend of us. He is strong, but this may be too many. Please help him!"
(Squirrel showed 8 toes, so you have a confirmation of about a dozen, give or take. Whoever wants to execute the ambush, go ahead. You have the surprise round.)
