Hurren shouts, "Dexan and I will attempt to subdue the beast, you guard our rear in case the mistress of the house arrives! that lever likely opens the passage back into the kitchens, where Flint and I were before."
Skrach will disengage as a bonus action, extending his new limbs as he tests the limits of this form. Flexing his legs, he sinks the tiny hairs into the stonework, scurrying up the wall and onto the ceiling.
His mandibles click and hiss a he regards the wererat and his companions, and he fire a globule of sticky silk at the shocked wererat.

(Action DC 12 Strength check to escape)
The Werecat fails the check( and gets gummed up?) It is looking rough...
Dexen steps forward, gathers energy in his palms and thrusts his arm outwards " Eldridge BLAST" (sorry I couldn't help myself) , doing 12 points of damage.
The Wererat stops twitching and is still. You get the feeling you have done this creature a kindness and ended its suffering.
After ensuring that no immediate threats remain, Hurren observes, "I believe we have our answer to the source of the severed arm. However, the perpetrator of the crime is still at large. Shall we continue to explore? Does anyone require healing?"
Skrach will skitter around the room, checking for other dangers.

If he doesn’t find any, he will revert to Goblin form and inspect the wererat.
Investigation: 20
You do not sense anything as a spider, as a Goblin you notice each of the bodies including the Wererat, have a tattoo of Lady Irene's insignia on their wrist. By some mechanism, magic or otherwise, the Wererat appeared to be suck in its hybrid form.
While all this is going on, Malichi checks out the chest, first to see if it's trapped, then to open it, using thieve's tools if it's locked.
Malichi Investigation: 5
Thieve's tools: 13
This looks to you like a normal chest and any methods for concealing a trap have not been discovered. Your tools open the lock, how do you wish to open the chest?
Using his Primal Savagery, Skrach would like to very delicately remove the tattoo and surrounding epidermis from the wrist and see if this has any effect.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Zensiro is relieved that the wererat has been vanquished and is impressed with his party's prowess. "Brilliant work, my friends! Skrach, that spider form is quite ferocious and very useful. It looks like we have more than enough evidence to go after Lady Irene. That dwarven woman on the table there, I believe I met her brother, Polpo, playing cards upstairs. Poor fellow will be in for a shock when he gets the news. What should our next move be? It seems likely Lady Irene may be on the hunt for us, in which case escape through the kitchen might be best. On the other hand, facing one of her versus all of the unfortunate partygoers out there could be a safer tradeoff. Or should we escape to summon the guards? Skrach, perhaps you could dispatch a couple of your friends to do some scouting. And Malichi, any luck with that chest? Please do be careful . . . perhaps I should take a look at it as well?"
Hurren suggests sending someone we trust to summon Modesty and the Lieutenant. Maybe someone they met upstairs? And then going back to Irene's bedroom and searching for further evidence or useful items for our boss fight... Er, I mean final confrontation with her.
Flint nods at Hurren “I agree with Hurren, if we leave to summon the guard, chances are all of this will be cleaned up by the time we return. Best to send someone else, or bring in the good lady ourselves.” He points to Malichi and Zensiro “When you two stop playing around with that chest, we should go search her room upstairs. Try to find out what all of this is about and maybe a way to remove these masks.”
He touches his boar tusks “I don’t mind the tusks, but I don’t fancy pulling a trick like Skrach” he grins wickedly at the goblin “the spider looked good on you, though”
“Personally I don’t trust many other people here. Dex man was pretty sneaky before, maybe he can go get Modesty” Skrach looks temporarily embarrassed as he says the name, but then puffs out his chest and continues “The rest of us can square of against this tabaxi woman making all these creatures”
"Ha, sorry Flint, I'm not interested in either becoming more of an owl or more of a rat, or generally less of an elf, I guess. Just give Malichi a second here, we might find something to help us or to incriminate Lady Irene. I agree otherwise, we should head back up quickly and scour the room. Then we'll hopefully still have this room as an escape route. Skrach is right. Dexan, we know we can count on you. Can you make your way to the Sergeant or one of the other guards? I don't relish a showdown with the Lady, but we'll stand our ground if we must. There were a few folks in the card game that might join with us." Zensiro readies his weapons and mutters a quick prayer to the Earthmother.
Dexen thinks; "Irene's room has a window that looks out to the clock tower. I could take some rope, descend, and get the guard? Will you guys be okay facing off against whatever Irene is?"
Zensiro is relieved that the wererat has been vanquished and is impressed with his party's prowess. "Brilliant work, my friends! Skrach, that spider form is quite ferocious and very useful. You observe no effect. This appears to be a 'brand' much like an obscure wizard you may have read about in a scroll, who makes Half Orc armies and paints white hands on their armour to signify they are his creation.
Zensiro finds that with this chest, yes, there's a catch. "Malichi, what do you make of that? Perhaps it needs to be released to safely open the chest? In any case, let's move it along. In the forest, it's fine to sit still to observe your quarry, but in here I feel like we're on the other side of that."
(Obscure indeed, what madman would ever come up with something as fanciful as that? XD )
“Anyone want any of the gear? Flint? That javelin might look good on you. Otherwise, where are we headed? Downstairs to scrap with cat lady?” Skrach snarls a little at this last utterance.

Dexen thinks; "Irene's room has a window that looks out to the clock tower. I could take some rope, descend, and get the guard? Will you guys be okay facing off against whatever Irene is?"
Dexen will leave via the window upstairs.
You see a hidden catch on the side, which looks like it hooks to an internal mechanism.
