Flynt runs about quickly gathering any bolts he can find. Unfortunately he can only come up with about half the shots fired. Before the companions venture further Flynt suggests, "Perhaps Aleric and I should scout the grounds from the air. Might allow us to choose a better battlefield for our next encounter.
Flynt speaks the command word and his armor emits a faint glow. The fighters features first become a formless undulating blob of color before coalescing onto the shape of a great owl. Flynt gives his newly formed wings a hard flap and takes to the air. He circles the ruins taking note of entrances, and any signs of activity.

After a couple of passes he returns to the other two. He reverts to his regular form before telling the others what they found.

From the air you can see most of the compound is in ruins. The round tower in the northwest still has a second floor, although that is open to the air and you see nothing there. There does seem to be a spiral staircase near the center of the tower to get to that level. The three buildings on the east side of the compound all have roofs. As a result, you cannot see into the tower or any of the buildings.
Just outside what seems to be a door into the round tower you see an aberration. It matches the description Triserla had given earlier of a spider body with eel-like head. It seems to be moving to the east.
Flush with adrenaline and confidence, Aurelius tries to stealth around the corner of the ruined wall. Somewhere around W31-X31 he will wait for his companions.
Stealth 17
If noticed by the eelhead, Initiative 15
If unnoticed, (i.e. surprise) he will fire off an eldritch blast (range 120ft) at the aberration and duck behind some rocks or trees, attempting to hide again.
Eldritch blast first beam Attack: 25 Damage: 4force damage
Eldritch blast second beam Attack: 14 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll. force damage
Hiding (Stealth) 19
EDIT- even though unsuccessful hiding, perhaps there is some degree of cover?
"Psst...hey maybe we should lure it here. We have a natural ambush point here with some cover. Out there We'd be wide open for other things to join in the fight and we could end up surrounded." whispers Flynt as the two set off. "Send the dogs to get its attention. They should be able to blink away if it gets too close."
Aurelius is able to sneak around the corner unseen. (You have advantage, so you can re-roll the first attack result of 10 - just re-do the attack, the damage will stay the same. The second result hits. Once you attack you are no longer hidden, so yes, the creature sees you. I would say you could definitely have 1/2 cover being behind the rubble.)
(I'm fine using the previous roll for Elyria. Your attack will hit, but once you fire you are no longer hidden. Though you can still try to re-hide as a bonus action I think.)
Acorn and Sozi, not aware Aurelius was attacking beforehand, are still located where they were before. (6, 7)
(Flynt can go ahead and roll initiative as well.) (16)
(Once I have Aurelius roll and Flynt's initiative I will update again.)
Initiative Order "Eelhead" Elyria Flynt Aurelius Sozi Acorn Triserla
Round 1 The group has surprise for this round.
The first bolt misses the creature but the second manages to hit, as Aurelius tries to hide back behind the rubble.
Elyria takes a shot with her longbow, which hits as well. She then attempts to hide back behind the wall.
Sozi and Acorn stay near the wall to the west of the gap in the wall.
(Flynt, you may still make some action for Round 1. We can assume you are anywhere near the gap in the wall - or stay back if you wish. The "eelhead" is at P20 at the moment, since it was moving when you originally saw it. Distance is about 60 ft from the gap in the wall.)
Flynt remains out of site behind the edge of the wall peeking out to observe Aurelius' progress on luring the creature over. He holds off on his action for when the abomination gets to with in 30ft of him at which time he'll activate his stone rune as a reaction. This will cause the creature to make a Wisdom saving throw. Unless the save succeeds, the creature is charmed by you for 1 minute. While charmed in this way, the creature has a speed of 0 and is incapacitated, descending into a dreamy stupor. The creature repeats the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.
As a bonus action he will also invoke his Giants might ability - Once on each of your turns, one of your attacks with a weapon or an unarmed strike can deal an extra 1d6 damage to a target on a hit.
The "Eelhead" races straight up the wall of the rounded tower and moves onto the second floor, which is completely open to the air. It goes out of sight.
Updated Map - Elyria (and Aelric) can see the aberration running across the upper floor of the round tower. It is just far enough back not to be seen from the ground.
(I would say Perception Check was not necessary to spot the aberration. It was obvious. So Elyria still has an Action if she wished. Flynt would be next.)
If Triserla is still around, Aurelius will query, "How many of these devils did you encounter when you were here before? 3? 10? 50? What should we be expecting?"
