If the current state of everything had been normal, Jimena would never have attempted to violate the privacy of the service representatives. She would have suppressed the compulsion of breaking the customary code of conduct that strictly prohibits the act of rummaging through official files of the station. But, it's a time of crises and the best way to deal with a certain type of crisis is to investigate and gather information about almost everything.
Thus, the fighter knight will place her Shield on the wooden counter and set aside the Warhammer. Then she will lean on the countertop so that she's offered with a better view of the counter, and if it's necessary she will examine the counter in order to find any kind of important documents.
"There must be more survivors in this place. They might be scattered throughout the area, and suffering from mass confusion but we must find them. They might tell us where to find the oracle."

Along the wall behind the counter are a huge amount of tiny drawers, each about two inches square, with simple knobs and a small brass plate on the front of each. Each brass plate contains a Gnomish letter and number. The counter itself is a platform that is raised such that the gnomes would be at eye level with their medium-sized customers. It contains a series of shelves containing stationary of various sizes bearing the House Sivis cockatrice in a letterhead, along with numerous pens and inks. Atop the counter is a massive tome, bound in brass, allowing it to be locked, though it currently lies open.
All of the knights have visited a Sending Station, likely multiple times, and know the general procedure: A message is received by the gnomes in the back using the Sending Stone, which would be written in gnomish on a long, thin scroll, then placed in one of the draws in the front. When the intended recipient would come to retrieve a message, the gnomes could, for an additional fee, translate the message into almost any language, or just transcribe it into a larger, more legible script.
Two doors, at either end of the counter, lead further beyond into the the Sending Station and, presumably, the Sending Stone itself.
Jimena elects the massive tome that's been placed atop the wooden counter as her next subject of interest when she attempts to flip the pages of the tome. She tries to contemplate the records of the tome while examining the fonts carefully to see if she's proficient in the language to translate the words or the messages.
(Which door? There's one on either side of the counter)
Sir Jimena examines the tome. There are Gnomish symbols like those on the wall next to what appears to be a date and a name. Many of the names also have a second date next to them, along with a signature. She sees her own name in a few places with her signature. She remembers that when she would visit the Station, they would consult the book, pull a message from the boxes behind them, transcribe it to common for her, and make a note next to her name in the book, and have her sign that she received her message.
There's a more recent entry that shows a message that she has not retrieved.
Jimena will definitely want to check out the details of the previous messages that had been addressed to her or her former self while carefully taking note of the dates. And finally, she attempts to read the latest message that has not been retrieved yet.
"I see my name and my signature... more than once... that would have made me a frequent visitor of the station. But.. what's the last message? Should I tell the other knights about the strange happenings?"
It's fairly easy to match the Gnomish letters on the tome to the appropriate letters adorning the drawer behind the counter. Inside is a long, thin piece of parchment about an inch wide and three feet long wrapped in a tight coil. Upon it is written a message in a tight, precise script, but written in Gnomish.
Jimena will lift the tome upwards, then place it back on the counter. She decides that she must show the piece of parchment with message written in Gnomish script to her fellow knights. One of them might be able to read and understand the message.
Omen stand in silence, a bit confused with all this. "This isn't right."he says softly. "What happened here?" he asks but, it doesn't appear he is addressing his companions.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Jimena will wrap the thin piece of parchment into a coil and she sets the tome aside in order to place the rolled piece of paper on the wooden counter. She seems disheartened by the fact that none of the knights can translate the message to common, celestial or primordial. But, she believes that there might be a dictionary or a guide which might enable her to translate and transcribe the gnomish script into something legible.
Thus, she attempts to search for such kind of dictionary or guidelines that explains the instructions for translation of gnomish script.
"I'm inclined to complete the task at hand before investigating further about these doors. Would someone like to follow Sir Omen? I fear that he might discover something peculiar or horrific behind these doors."
Unfortunately for Jimena, the gnomes did the translation with themselves with no need of any books to help them. They preferred to maintain as much of a monopoly on information as they could.
Omen looks around, a bit confused. "What is it you are looking for?"he asks the knight. Concern crosses his face as he realizes someone is missing. He readies his spear. "Where have Onyx and Glint gone?"he asks the others in a hushed tone.
Jimena will briefly explain the facts of the current situation to Sir Omen while highlighting the issue of the translation of gnomish script:
"I've been attempting to find a solution to the problem. I fear that the message might contain a confidential information about the mission of the original party, or it's a clue meant for us."
The fighter knight stops abruptly when she examines the state of the surrounding and finds two of the knights missing. She rubs the temple of her head then expresses her thoughts by saying:
"I believe that we've come to the dead-end of the rescue mission. But I'm willing to proceed further with the same objective, even though the absence of Sir Glint and Sir Onyx will weaken the resilience of the party."
Sir Glint enters the Sending Station looking out of breath. Seeing the rest of the party inside he shakes his head in frustration. "Sir Onyx has gone off on their own. They did not listen to my commands to return, and I did not wish to try to force them. They muttered something about this accursed land and finding someone, hoping they were still alive, but I could not make it out."
He shakes his head in frustration, irritation clear on his face. "What have you found here?"
Jimena will show the thin piece of parchment to Sir Omen instead of replying to his enquiry since the unintelligibility of the message can denote a better remark than exchange of incoherent words. Then, she will address Sir Glint and announce:
"We've found a piece of paper containing a message, Sir Glint, nothing else. And I'm really sorry about the unexpected issue regarding the loss of Sir Onyx."
Jimena seems troubled when Sir Glint asks her about the message which she has failed to decode, anyway she will respond to his question by saying:
"I don't have the expertise required for the decoding process of this message, Sir Glint. Would you like to see if you can understand the intention of the script? I'd prefer to explore the rest of the station in order to search for survivors who might be able to help us."
