Giovani moves to check the chest and take the fireworks, but his eyes keep getting drawn to the words. “I have no idea what to make of all this… everyone? Come have a look!”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Inif hold his nose and tries to handle the smell. Inif focused his will into a hand and reaches out to lift the chest open from a safe distance. "Looks like we've found the fireworks..."
Inif contemplates Vorka's scribblings and moves to Vorka's bedding to search for any valuables.
Autumnleafflits about the room for a moment, looking at the words on the wall with a blank stare, tilting her head in thought, her body beginning to rotate in the direction her head is tilted until she's done a full 360 degrees and is back upright."Hither and thither I go, I go, hither and yon I sway, the words are unpolished, the writing uncouth, but it's easy to see what they say."She looks over at the others as her grin returns,"Perhaps hidden depths there could be, though how I can't see..." She tilts her head once again as she considers that thought.
As the team looks through the chaos of the room, they find a number of strangely decorative items, things depicting colorful serpentine dragons, towering cliffs, delicate human figures, or strange pagodas, though not a single item is clean or even in one piece. In the chest, you do find 6 thin, foot-long tube fireworks, and 1 similar length tube though with a much wider opening, which is also quite a bit heavier.
The words on the wall currently mean nothing to any of you. Perhaps you could ask about them later.
Autumnleafconsiders the words for a few moments more before shrugging."The words themselves mean here and there or to and fro, but as for a deeper meaning, I'm afraid I don't know."She shrugs again, this time with a small titter as she twirls in place, and flies back across the room by the door, waiting for everyone to exit.
I'll sum things up as it seems you're headed back to town then. Please let me know if there is anything that would change
The party, glad to be rid of this place, packs their things and heads out. Speedwell leaving some meat for the dogs, and untying them, they are at first afraid and simply watch everyone leave, but once the party is gone, Autumnleaf flies up and can see that they begin to eat the scraps and start sniffing around the boat to see what has transpired. The hike back is rather uneventful, and you arrive just at dusk. As the goblin spokesman, who had handed out the rewards the previous day, comes out to sees you, he is pleasantly surprised that a group of outsides have decided to return, though is obviously saddened at the losses of Chuffy and Mogmurch, as you finally learn their names.
The chief comes out and calls for a celebration, as well as a mourning, and collecting the fireworks you've procured immediately launches the large one into the air which flies a few hundred feet up and explodes in a burst of color. He then turns to the group to learn of their stories. Hearing of the words on the walls he pauses and thinks to himself for a minute seriously before walking away. A bit later, as the celebrations and fireworks continue, you are summoned to talk with him in the Moot House, where he presents each of you with a ticket to a carnival. Explaining that, while he doesn't understand the words themselves, he does know that they are in some way connected with this carnival. He then also gives you directions on how you should be able to find it's current location, as it travels quite a bit.
The rest of the night, and following day are yours. Feel free to RP how you would like to progress from here as a group (assuming everyone wishes to stay together with their new found friends).
Giovani finds drinks and begins handing them out to his companions. In his overly aloof tone that comes so naturally to him: “This has been an indulgent diversion, truly pleasurable. And all the more so for your company. I would continue this enjoyment. If you care to join, I may interest you in coming with me to this carnival in the near future. But I’ll have to enjoy the night, and take care of one bit of business.”
Have we gotten a reward for getting the fireworks?
“I’ll plan to meet you all at the carnival if you’re going to be there,” Speedwell says. “It sounds interesting. Until then, I need to continue my patrol and head back home.”
Speedwell spends some time celebrating the new team’s success, but he also spends some time by himself, enjoying the fireworks and revelry from an observational perspective. Before the night is done, he pulls up the hood on his cloak, readies his equipment, and makes his way back into the forest and starts to head home.
Autumnleafgives each of the individuals she'd traveled with so far a pat on the head, though she does not drink. She does dance about in the air with the music, pulling out a Lyre and playing along.
Performance with Lyre proficiency: 12
She doesn't play anything particularly difficult, mostly content to follow the music already present and enjoy the atmosphere of the evening, which she does for most of the party.
Waiting until most of the celebration has wound down, she quietly checks on all three of her temporary companions, whispering in Sylvan to herself. Nodding as though having decided something, she too collects her meager belongings and, as he steps into the forest, begins to fly along behind Speedwell, intent on following the Rabbitfolk.
Speedwell quietly and cautiously hops along, guided by his torch, until he finds a suitable place to make camp for the night. As he hops along, he enjoys the raucous orchestra of the faewild forest. As he settles into his solitude, feeling at ease, he notices the nocturnal flora begin to bloom as he walks by and the fire flies begin to flit about.
Once he finds a suitable campsite, he sets up a fire and begins casting alarm to protect the area. Since he is (seemingly) alone, he’ll set the spell to only go off in his mind (as opposed to audibly, out loud) if the barrier is crossed.
Perception to see if he notices Autumnleaf, eventually: 15
Completely unaware that he’s being followed, after he sets the alarm, he sits by the fire and pulls out a small drum and starts beating on it gently. It takes him deep in thought as he reflects on the quest he has just completed. Not only did he do this quest for a race that he can’t stand, but he did it with an unusual assortment of adventurers. I mean…a Gith monk?! A demented fairy, too. Without realizing it, Speedwell finds himself half-smiling, then shuddering at remembering the fairy’s pointed grin.

Autumnleafwatches all of this, grinning and mostly unblinking, for a while. She waits some time for him to, seemingly, doze off before flying up and over, a few dozen feet above his sleeping form, pulling out her water skin. After taking careful aim, she lets just a few drops fall towards his forehead, not bothering to watch them land before immediately dashing through the air to take cover behind the boughs of the nearest tree.

Speedwell wakes up abruptly to the splashing of water on his face and looks around. By instinct, his hand went to the hilt of his sword in case he needed to ready it quickly.
When Autumnleaf whispers in Sylvan, Inif responds "I know some of your tongue. It is part of the reason I found my way here to the Feyweald." Inif turns to his companions and expands upon his background.
A long time ago, I came across a book written in Sylvan in our great library. I did not understand the language, but the illustrations were transfixing. There were creatures like you, Autumnleaf and you, Speedwell and Giovani. They had a look of of both contentment and wonder in their eyes and I wondered, how they could walk that balance. Against my better nature, I "borrowed" the book until I could properly master the language and interpret its meanings. A book that details the wonders of the Feywaeld. Perhaps in experiencing it, I might master my own chaos. It seems only fitting I have met companions like you, to walk with me on this path. Look, there is even mention of a mysterious carnival. Somehow, I feel we must experience it together.
Inif pulls out the book and shows the picture of carnival attractions and a ticket which has striking similarities to the ones provided. Inif is quiet and listens to his companions impressions after sharing so much.
For the night, Inif is drawn to stay close to his companions and mediates to the sound of the wilds.
Giovani moves to check the chest and take the fireworks, but his eyes keep getting drawn to the words.
“I have no idea what to make of all this… everyone? Come have a look!”

"Best to get back before nightfall, yes? Let's grab those tubes and be on our way and pull down a ladder for the dogs to leave."
Inif helps bring the tubes down to the lower level and stows his weapons for their walk back.

When they walk by the dogs, Speedwell tosses a bone to each one.
