😂 favored enemy! Children are annoying… but hunting them? Daymn~
Speedwell, confident in his tracking abilities, unfortunately finds himself at a loss in the hustle and bustle of the carnival. There are just so damn many human children running around that finding one is like finding a needle in a haystack; even jumping up over the heads of the crowd to get a better view. After about 10 minutes or so of searching he looks back to the others in the group with a sigh and hopes someone else might have better luck.
Giovani follows after Speedwell, calling: “Virro! You mustn’t run off alone! You could get snatched!” Gio covers his mouth with his hands at the unnecessary last of his words
Autumnleaf flies straight up to get a better view, but is quickly distracted as a giant dragonfly being flown very poorly by a young drunken elf flies too close past, causing her to spin around and loose sight of the child in the crowd.
Not that it’s important, but it’s only one R in the name. I just put more in b/c of the cat purring speech ;)
Inif ‘s quick and focused eyes are able to spot the child not far off standing next to a candy stall longingly. Going up to the child is no problem, and you’re easily able to bring him back. ((Feel free to add some flavor if you’d like, but I’ll just assume you bring him back and write that up))
Bringing the child back to the lost property wagon, the large talking feline says, “Thank you friends. My name is Dirlagraun((trill the Rs~))by the way. I am sorry for that. I too lost something from this car-r-rnival. Many years ago my child, Star, disappear-r-red. This mirr-r-r-rored ball was his favorite toy.” Sighing he looks to the children under his care and adds, “I now watch the cubs of the car-r-rnival to ensur-r-re that they are safe. Ah, you said you were looking for something? As I said, things often go missing here. You may check the wagon, though it is unlikely what you lost is mixed in with those small nick-knacks.”
Speedwell will go ahead and check for his stuffed faerie dragon. While he’s searching, he’ll ask Dirla, “If you lost your son here, why did you stay? Why not move on? Is there a chance he could come back?”

The githzerai monk sneaks (14) up behind Viro and whispers in his ear, "Dirla is looking for you. If you wander from his side again, he'll be unable to reward your good behavior with these." Inif points to two pieces of candy and purchases them from the vendor, he picks up the mirrored ball and studies it.

Arcana: 9 off chance it might be magic or an arcane focus
Back at Lost and Found, Inif entrusts the candy to Dirla to keep the children motivated to listen. Inif sorts (15) through the nick-knacks. Perhaps this was an odd idea... he thinks to himself. "Dragonfly rides anyone?"

2 pieces of candy will set you back 1 copper :) Also, our feline friend has snatched the ball back, so he is holding on to it.

The child is surprised by the sudden whisper in his ear, but the shock quickly fades as he looks at the candy in the monk’s hands and the mention of the name of the friendly feline that had been caring for him.
In response to Speedwell, Dirlagraun replies, “I’ve only known the car-r-rnival. Been here since I was a cub. Star may return some day… I can only hope that he is safe and sound wherever he is… This mirrorball was his favor-r-rite…”
Looking through the wagon, you do not find what you are looking for, though of interest the two of you do find: (4) A Painted wooden key, and (34) a Fake Three-Dragon Ante card depicting a faerie dragon. Dirlagraun says you can keep them if you’d like, as they’ve been unclaimed for quite a while now.

Speedwell looks down at the key and card, somewhat conflicted. He says, “let me pay for these. Here, I’ll give you 5 copper for them. Does that sound good?”
“Interesting,” Speedwell says in response to Giovani. “That’s an important thing to know.” Speedwell is still smiling, though, apparently still amused at the littlest thing. And, he follows Inif towards the dragonflies.
Autumnleafpats Gio's head."Deception is in more than words my friend, though should truth an obstacle become, for your sake I'd gladly make it bend, so to its whims you won't succumb."Then she laughs a little and flutters on after the others.

Giovani freezes at Autumn’s words. “I do wish you hadn’t said that. Now I’ll have to tell someone what you said.” He kicks the turf a bit, but shakes it off. “Please, let’s go drown ourselves in distraction.”
Autumnleafgiggles before speaking in a singsong."You only know what you know and not what I know so if I say something you don't know then you won't know to let others know that what I said is a lie. Now stop your fretting and come along so you can ride a dragonfly."

Following the dragonflies you see flying around the park above you you make your way to their area. Huge lily pads rest on the surface of a pool glistening with phosphorescent algae. Giant dragonflies use the lily pads as landing platforms, buzzing loudly overhead with wings as brilliant as stained-glass windows, and alighting briefly to drop off and pick up excited passengers.
Near the entrance, a small, smiling tree turns your way and beckons you over. A red squirrel clings to its leafy canopy, peering at you suspiciously. Approaching, the tree says to you in his slow, yet relatively loud voice, "Well well! What a group we have here! What stories you all must have! What can I help you with?"
You see there is a small line of people waiting to ride the dragonflies.
