Panic is a mechanism that strengthens the gene pool.
The girl turns to you and says, "There's a monster in our house!" She then points to a tall brick row house that has seen better days. Its windows are dark. It has a gated portico on the ground floor, and the rusty gate is slightly ajar. The houses on either side are abandoned, their windows and doors boarded up.
" Oh don't look at me like that! This is how my people teach children lessons! And I did it in a very soft way! " Says Salman who looks annoyed.
@The Children
The ranger turns his eyes toward the house. The building is like an old noble lady wearing a dusty tattered dress. But from her arrogant look, it seems she is still holding a few coins in her wallet. " Monster, you said? What a coincidence. We are a group of monster hunters. But we are busy and not doing volunteer work. If you want us to slay the monster, you have to pay the price. "
Vur slightly transforms his facial features to look a little more wolf like before speaking to Salman, "Carefull with the whole Big Bad Wolf thing, buster."
Dropping the features before getting at the children's level Vur will say, "I don't care what the others do, I will go in and help with the monster in your house." Taking a short pause he adds, "Other wise we would be the monsters for not helping." Shooting an other nastly look at Salman.
As Ray-my hands his rations to the children his hand brushes up against the boy's hand, who promptly vanishes, followed an instant later by the girl. The rations drop to the cobblestone street.
Salman is slightly upset by the transformation and nasty look of Vur. He looks away and mutters. " I'm sorry… "
@The children
" Shar damn it! " Salman jumps away from the spot where the girl and her little brother disappeared. " The kids are ghosts! That house is definitely cursed! " The ranger glances over his party ( especially Vur and Evrik ) and sighs. "…But you guys will get in there anyway, right? "
"By the Wyrm!" The old fighter swears, more in expectation of danger than alarm. Gideon is surprised by the disappearance of the children, but he has been around magic for too long to be truly shocked. He will look around for any immediate threat, his shield held up, hand on his sword hilt, ready to draw.
"Raaf, quick scout." He says to his familiar, letting the raven know to fly up and take a quick look at the perimeter to see if there's anything approaching. "This is feeling more and more like a trap." He says to the others.
“What I am wondering about is, what sort of ‘monster’ sends out illusions to announce it’s presence?” Jingles asks as he keeps a sharp eye on the doors and windows that now seems so fraught with ominous uncertainties. “Obviously, nothing here can be trusted and, trap indeed, I’d say that would be rather an understatement.”

Salman looks up at the spooky house and mutters. " The safest and quickest way to reduce a monster's den is to set fire on it. Like we burnt and smoked the goblin nest with poison plants. …But I have a feeling that we can't burn this accursed thing and none of its residents could be killed by poison. Long story short, we have to rush in the building " Once making up his mind, the ranger complains no more. He will take the lead to get in the house. First he checks the traps on the door, opening it and peaking inside with his darkvision.

The gate to the portico rusty hinges shriek as you open it. Oil lamps hang by chains from the portico's ceiling. They flank a set of oaken doors.
