Buppido has a bit of a think on it while scrubbing. "It will happen when it's meant to happen, but I am growing weary of their hospitality. If it works for you, perhaps we can depart in the next few days? I suppose sooner would be preferable to later."
All prisoners:
You're rounded up by your various work details and returned to the slave pen, some before the others, but eventually you're all there and see two more new arrivals. A dwarven woman with bright red hair (under the grim and grit of her capture). The second prisoner many of you are only able to identify as one by the iron belt clamped around it's middle. There are a pair of stumpy legs, but no arms or head visible, it looks like a little stump of a bipedal mushroom. It seems to be making itself as small as possible in one of the recesses in the wall.
((Anyone can make a Knowledge check on the fungus creature, Stena, Lex and Galingal with advantage.))

With alot of exictment Io responds:"Deal! eh eh eh best coin i ever spent" ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Io saw the wierd looking creature and in the jail she screams "IT'S SO CUUUTE!!" she then looks and gets close to the new dwarf prisoner" Where did you got it? What is it? Where can i get an army of them? What's the name? What is it?.. oohh i already asked that... aaaahhh... Is it friendly? What is it made of? What's it's name? Prefered food? Food it doesn't like?" Io takes a long breath " Family? Species? Habitat? I need answers!"
Stena, the other dwarf looks relieved to see you, casting some looks that range from cautious to displeased at some of the other slaves. "Eldeth Feldrun, from Gauntlygrym!"
As Io comes rushing over, "I---I'm a dwarf? A dwarf and proud of it!"
She raises a quizzical eyebrow in Stena's direction.

Thom also ponders for a moment with Buppido's response. He nods at Buppido, and says to Lex for translation "Yes. The sooner the better then, mate. Just don't go doing anything stupid, yeah? Ye remember the lashings for the orc's stupidity. Perhaps we plan something tonight."and he finishes up his scrubbing.
Thom then says to Lex in common "I mean, I've trusted worse." and shrugs his shoulders.
When the woman with white hair who some days earlier woke up hysterically from a hibernation of some sort and now seems to be matching that hysteria with her questions about this new creature in the cell, Thom just remains sitting against the wall and shakes his head, muttering in elvish "Wow."
Thom would squint his eyes a little bit and see if he can get a better look at the fungus creature. He sees that the dwarf who was already here was already starting to greet this new dwarf in what he presumes is dwarven, so Thom decides to see if he can get a look at the fungus creature 7 on his own while sitting against the wall. dafuq is that thing he thinks to himself.
He does not introduce himself to the new dwarf at this point.
Thom has no clue about the fungus thing, but does note that the Prince's restraint has since crumbled and he seems to be sulking off to the side. Which is probably a vast improvement over raging and trying to bite anyone who angers him.

Eldeth replies excitedly to Stena in dwarvish, clasping her forearm in an embrace:
"You did!? I did not, unfortunately, but my father, aunt, uncle and a couple cousins where there! Did you happen to run into any Feldrun's when you were there? You might have fought side to side with my kin! The hold is well, strong as ever!"
Stena has an immediate inkling of what the fungus creature is.
You're certain it's a juvenile myconid, a race of fungus folk that tend to be fairly insular and non-confrontational with other Underdark races. They are an intelligent folk, and are known to provide hospitality to those who approach them with peaceful intent.
Roll me a d20, I'll say with a 10-15 you've encountered one or more while down here, 16-20, you've stayed in a myconid colony before, and my know more than that.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
For the first time since getting tossed in here, Stena smiles, if only slightly.
In whispered dwarvish
"Aye, aye did. It was a long nasty affair but worth it get back to the dwarves what is ours!"
She thinks on the name,
"Aye was mostly out of the camps scouting, but Feldrun? Hmm. Aye met a... Brandur? Aye, his name was Brandur Feldrun. He was a hammer-striker or a shield-breaker? What became of him? Did he make it?"
A d20: 3
Stena casts another glance at the fungus, but stays focused on Eldeth for now. She'll speak with it later.
"Aye, that'd be my Uncle Bran! He's a Breaker, and made it out and is still keeping Auntie Deena at her wits end! He lost his left hand in the taking, but mostly uses that as an excuse. Says he has to lift twice as many pints with his right to make up for it!"
Stenna, you once encountered a pair of myconids flanked by a hook horror that seemed festooned with fungal growths. They were carrying the bodies of some cave fishers at the time. ((Did you interact with them?))

"Aye was part of the militia volunteer unit. My direct commander was lieutenant Grusli, we were under captain Draspar. Ye?"
"Aye glad he made it! He did draw a crowd and was friendly with everyone. Well most everyone."
---
Stena would have signaled them and shared the news she had and ask them for news of their own about the goings on in the Underdark. If they didn't have anything pressing or invite her she would have moved on after exchanging the news and pleasantries.
"Ah, it's Major Draspar now! I'm a member of Lieutenant Thurstak's company."
They approached when you signaled, and when you showed signs of not attacking, and wishing to converse. As they drew closer, as you inhaled, you felt a tingling wave pass over you, and you could hear the pair of myconids speaking within your mind. It was a bit disorienting at first, as it was not true language, but thoughts that even as it was happening, you realized your brain was translating into something you could understand.
"Greetings, softer." "You have traveled deep, from the surface?"
After an exchange of info and a bit of rest, you part on your ways.
((You know that myconids are peaceful folk, refer to fleshy folks as 'softer', and that at least the ones you have encountered have the ability to communicate telepathically. After you departed, you suffered no ill effects whatever aspect of their magic or biology allowed you to speak mind to mind with them.))

@Spider, I'm back!
Thom would shrug his shoulders at Lex and say to her in common "I mean, maybe it's worth hearing him out. See what his plan is. Ask him again."
Thom would re-ask Lex to ask Buppido in undercommon, "when does he plan on leaving and how does he plan on doing so."
Thom and Lex:
Buppido has a bit of a think on it while scrubbing. "It will happen when it's meant to happen, but I am growing weary of their hospitality. If it works for you, perhaps we can depart in the next few days? I suppose sooner would be preferable to later."

What's the creature?: 20
Stena will immediately move to the new dwarf and say in a whisper, in dwarvish,
"Stena Ingensdottir of -wherever Stena's from."
She'll proffer a hand while she waits for the other dwarf to introduce herself.
With alot of exictment Io responds:"Deal! eh eh eh best coin i ever spent"

Stena gives Io the nastiest of her nasty looks. She really digs deep to find one she thinks is nasty enough.

Stena gives Eldeth a shake of her head in response to the raised eyebrow and says, still in dwarvish,
"Aye don't know, she has been like that since aye got here. Aye'm the newest here after ye two. Only been here a couple days"
She nods to the fungus to indicate who she means as the second new arrival.
Her tone becomes warmer to Eldeth and she gestures them to the side to speak as privately as possible,
"Gauntlygrym? Aye fought in the reclamation, how fairs the hold?"
((Did Stena's 20 identify the fungus Spider?))
Eldeth replies excitedly to Stena in dwarvish, clasping her forearm in an embrace:

Thom raises an eyebrow when he sees the dwarves talking and then whispering, but does not do anything.
He just shakes his head at the prince who is sulking now over off to the side.
The conversation in dwarvish continues:
"A fellow scout! Who'd you serve under?"
"Aye, that'd be my Uncle Bran! He's a Breaker, and made it out and is still keeping Auntie Deena at her wits end! He lost his left hand in the taking, but mostly uses that as an excuse. Says he has to lift twice as many pints with his right to make up for it!"
