Lia would make it back to the cell, exhausted from her days work, but hopeful.
Hopeful because she’d managed to cast magic, just a little way outside of the cell (she would try hard to remember exactly where that was).
And hopeful because she had managed to find a possible spell component. Maybe it was only a light cantrip component, but it was something. And maybe when the time came it would make all the difference, maybe, somehow…
And either way, both these things gave her a little hope… It might have showed too, a little bit. Or maybe she was too exhausted for that.
Back in the cell, she acknowledged the two new inmates with kind eyes and a nod.
She wondered whether she’d heard tales about the odd little mushroom creature, or seen one before…

Hmm…
She needed this mask off, and she needed to be out of this cell!… And manacles off would be a bonus… She paced round the cell a little. And thought. And sat. Restless…
"Eh, I was doing a bit of recon, but they must have known I was trailing them, drew me in and before I knew it I was surrounded. Figured it was 'fight to the death' time, but they got me with one of those bolts and it was nap time."
((Underdark is kind of everywhere, just deeper, but since you'd been down here before, figure you'd been staying/working somewhere that was near an entrance that leads to it if you go deep enough.))

You're pretty sure it's a myconid, though you'd peg it to be a young one. They are a race of intelligent fungus-folk that reside in the Underdark.

Galingal slumps against the wall when they get back to the cell. He listens to the pair of voices speaking in dwarvish, the one he recognizes the other is new. What they're saying is still a mystery to him.
The longer he goes without being able to see, the more returning to the Fortress of Memories seems like an option to consider.
"I remembered last time," he says to himself. "Maybe remember this time too."
Then he recalls the endless servitude his brethren still live with. He takes a deep breath and stands back up straight.
Not caring if he's interrupting the dwarves or not he speaks to those in the room, "we found nothing in kitchen. Any other find something help?"
Lia makes a quiet, urgent sound in response… “mNuuh!.. mNuuh!…”. And writes “ M A G I C ! ! “, in common, on the floor, and taps her foot beside it.
Once she sees that at least a few people have seen it, who could translate for her, she scuffs it out and writes “ O N … B R I D G E “. She looks at those who might have noticed and nods vigourously.
She also shows anyone who is interested her phosphorescent-fungus/moss. Then mimes a finger over her lips looking nervously towards the bars. Then nods again, obviously pleased. She tucks it away.
Then she holds up her finger (“wait for it… wait for it…” as if choosing the right moment) then mimes cutting her mask. And thumbs up!
Sitting with his back against the cold wall and slowly hitting the back of his head on the rocks, Thom would respond to the blindfolded elf Galingal "Nope, although Buppido here might have a plan for the escape. Isn't that right, Buppido?" and then he grins at Lex.
Thom kind of shakes his head when he sees 'La' write the 'magic on bridge' bit and the fungus/moss, but when she mimes to wait to cut her mask, Thom would grab the rabbit pelts hanging off his head and whisper to her "Same with these, yeah?" trying to make her laugh in this moment. He'd start to play with them like they are live rabbits to see if it makes 'La' laugh.
Lia does chuckle, and then laughs at Thom. But it makes her choke on her gag.
After a few moments bending forward and breathing deeply, in and out, through her nose, she looks up and nods her thanks to him for bringing her a little humour in this dark place.
Then she stares kind of out-of-focus at the rabbits on his head for a moment, or three, …
She sees rabbit’s paws, fur, hair, fleece?, leather?, eyeballs, brains, blood, teeth… … components, components components…! The idiotic underworlders! Ha!…
Hmm… Nothing she needs right now, but maybe the others??!
She looks furtively around at anyone else she suspects might know magic… Hmm…
Then her eyes go wide… She reaches slowly towards the rabbits, her head slightly cocked, a question in her eyes, and beckoning with her hands… (‘may I?’).
Enough folks that speak Common turn and look at Galingal, that even those that don't turn and pay attention (with the exception of the mushroom fellow, which just sits there quaking slightly). Jimjar does his part at translating, before commenting.
In Common and Undercommon: "Magic on bridge... you mean the bridge is magic? Or that you can DO magic?"
When Lia confirms her intent, "Hmmm... anyone else have magical abilities? I've just a touch, but do a few things that might help in a pinch."
When Lex or Jimjar translates for Buppido, the derro responds, "Sure! It's like this... right now we're prisoners of these drow, I propose that we work together to change that. There's almost as many of us as there are of them, by my count, there's nearly twenty drow, a dozen of the quaggoth, and a half dozen giant spiders. There's sixteen of us, so that's.... let's see... thirty-eight, divided by sixteen, comes to two with six remaining, so first come first serve on those for whoever dispatches their two first. Once they're all dead, we're free to walk right out!"
Shuushar stands and raises a hand, responding in translated Undercommon, "I ask that you not count me in your calculations, Brother Buppido. I have sworn a path of non-violence. I will not prevent you from engaging in it, but I will not take part."
"Fine... so fifteen, that's two and a half or so each! Math comes out easier that way!"
Galingal listens to the others and especially to Jimjar.
"With mask off," Galingal begins, tugging at the blindfold mask covering much of his face, "the power of the Queen I can channel. Not all. More when have medallion back."

Lex is always half-asleep at this point, so she isn't paying much attention to Thom and Buppido's conversation, just mindlessly translating as she works.
(A little late to the draw, but history check on the mushroom: 18)
Later that night, when Lia mimes cutting off the mask, Lex will take her hand and guide it up to her braid, where she's hidden the jagged stone she found. She makes sure Lia feels the sharp edge, then lets her go."I'll get you out of that as soon as we run."
"Don't forget that we're without weapons, and they have those paralyzing bolts, not to mention whatever other nasty tricks they have up their sleeves. As much as I'd enjoy bashing some drow heads, I don't think we're winning that fight. We either figure out what the hell they did with our stuff, or we make a break for it," she responds to Buppido's plan, speaking in Undercommon and then Common. She thinks for a moment.
"You know, it might do us well to actually think of a route. Elevator's probably out, unless someone here is able to operate it. But it's still slow, and I don't think we'd all fit in one trip. Jumping into the webs would just get us eaten. I don't want to try my hand against those spiders without my sword. Has anyone seen what's at the bottom of the waterfall?"
Stena largely ignores the other conversation during her conversation but adds,
"We should see what they are planning. We obviously can't trust the orc, the derro, the drow or the quaggoth. The quaggoth is crazy, as near as I can make out as well."
She looks around and whispers,
"The deep gnomes are probably okay. I don't know what to make of the fishman. The others... I don't know. I'm going to speak to the myconid."
Stena walks over slowly to the shaking little myconid and whispers in undercommon to it,
"Can you speak with me? Are you old enough?"
She will slowly, and unaggressively offer a hand for it to lean against or touch if it needs to or want that.
"We shouldn't take them lightly just saying 2 and half each is harder then it may look mainly when we are talking about a small army including several spiders, I am saying this obviusly because I want to be caurefull and not because I am afraid... ok maybe i am incredibly afraid. Interesting features i will have to study them later Really well, . Well it doesn't matter now about the exit. We should also free other prisoners we find along the way, they don't deserve to stay here anymore then we do! And if necessary I am ready to be behind just to free as many them as I can find" she does a quick and small laugh "Guess there's still some heat in this frozen heart uhn?"

Thom says to 'La' "Oh shite, have at it ma'am!" and he gesturers her to touch the rabbits all she wants.
Thom thinks to himself when Buppido lays out his plan and then responds to Lex in common for translation "Buppido... if ye think we can take out that lot without our gear then I think yer as loony as a prince over there. Not saying yer plan isn't entirely bad though... although I agree with Lex here. Either try and find our stuff once it goes down, or just make a break for it instead of dusting up with them, yeah?"
To Lex: "The waterfall... I'm not sure, but that might be an option. I wonder how wicked the landing would be... I've jumped down my fair share of waterfalls that's fer sure."
Thom perks up a bit when lo introduces herself. He says "Well met, ice witch. I'm Tom." He feels the opposite about rescuing other prisoners should an escape be attempted, but doesn't say anything about that yet.
With permission, Lia reaches up to the rabbit carcasses on Thom’s head. Without removing them, she feels over them for feet, bones, etc.
((OOC: Can I assume they’re just gutted? But all else is intact (if a little rotten by now)?))
She looks and feels for the head, the mouth, the teeth. She tries to wobble one or two of the sharp front-teeth out of the mouldering rabbit’s skull, ((if she can?))
((Might be redundant anyway now she knows Lex has a blade. But it wouldn’t hurt to have a back up)).
When Lex approaches, Lia lets the other woman guide her hand up into the back of her hair. When she feels the edged tool there, her eyes widen, and when Lex promises to free her of the gag, she locks eyes with her and gives her an ernest and determined nod. (Deal!)
As Io introduces herself, Lia claps her hands quietly together as best she can in the manacles, and maybe stamps a foot a little too. Then when she gains her attention, wiggles her fingers in the internationally recognised gesture for witchcraft before pointing towards Io, then back towards herself, nodding, and then back to Io, and gives her a thumbs up. (‘Sisters of the weave’ ?).
You're pretty sure it's a juvenile myconid, you know they are a peaceful race of mushroom folk that tend to keep to themselves, as they are very different from the humanoid races. You've heard of them being able to *speak* telepathically, but that they aren't able to otherwise communicate through speech.
Stena is going over to attempt to connect with it, you're welcome to join her when you see her heading to do so.
When Lex mentions weapons, Ront grunts. "Found metal stick, hid it. Can get a weapon if we get to it."
When she asks about the waterfall, the drow prisoner stands, rubbing his temple and addresses her in Undercommon, speaking longer than any of you have heard him speak thus far.
"I understand your initial... distrust of me. In your place, I'd feel much the same. But someone set me up, pinned a murder on me... I'm ruined. There is nothing I can do to clear my name, I know that now. No one is going to step forth and vouch for me. Anyone not involved is just glad it isn't them. I've nothing left here. My death has been declared, I'm only still breathing. I will share everything I know, if I can join you when we leave. Escaping with a bunch of low--- prisoners can hardly lower my stature. As a gesture of trust and good will, I'll correct the... derro's math. There are nineteen drow in this outpost, Mistress Ilvara Mizzrym and her under priestess, Asha Vandree are the females of highest rank. Under them are five elite males, and another twelve male soldiers."
A whispered dwarven conversation:
"Aye, if we get free, I've no desire to be watching by back against their sort... but I've got yours, and you've got mine. They might still be useful in escaping, though... and trying to leave them here could complicate things, if they raise an alarm... you suggesting we take them out first? Could weaken us against the rest of the drow. Maybe turn them on each other...?"
As Stena reaches out to touch the mushroom folk, it pulls away initially, but when she pauses, it doesn't flee or anything.
((Stena, make a Persuasion(?) check?))
Jimjar gives a wry chuckle when Io introduces herself more fully, "I noted your... ahem, icy demeanor. Should have placed a bet on 'ice witch'."
As Thom's comments are relayed back to Buppido, he shakes his head and smiles. "I don't say we eschew weapons, except for our fine fishy friend. Each drow we drop is more weapons in our hands, if we make good use of them, despite our chains, so much the better. And if we can find our things, great, but getting out of here is the first step."
Thom:
While the Prince has only spoken in proper Elvish, you note his ears paying careful attention, you're certain he also understands Undercommon. You also get the sense that he either doesn't want to admit that or is keeping it hidden for some reason. Calling him on it is likely to send him off in one of his rages.
Lia:
They've been on his head for seven days now, so it's getting pretty nasty. It's not likely to be effective as a weapon, but might serve to work through a leather strap.
Another dwarf heavy post
"She made major? Aye think aye'd heard that actually. Only met her at muster twice. Seemed fair enough. Thurstak? No, don't think aye've met them."
She turns grim,
"How'd they grab ye? They scooped meh while aye was sleeping. Didn't even have a chance."
((How far is Stena's hold from the underdark? I figured it was fairly near.))
Lia would make it back to the cell, exhausted from her days work, but hopeful.
Hopeful because she’d managed to cast magic, just a little way outside of the cell (she would try hard to remember exactly where that was).
