"You know it was a demon? My money was on those crazy KT finally made up a god that was real or something.", Jimjar muses

"God or demon," Galingal says "Where come from and are there more?"

Lia helps with the oars and poles too. She’s not overly strong, but she liked to pull her weight. She tries to remember an old dwarven mining song that might go well with the rhythm of paddling and help them along, and get her (back?) in Stena’s good books…

"Well, if it's just a KT thing, we left it behind us! Oh man, I'd like to see the face of any drow chasing us from Velk when they stumble across Sloobludop!", Jimjar laughs.

Lia ends up using her artist's intuition to provide words where her recollection fails her, which ends up being about half of the time. 

Lia realises only half way through that she’s singing the jingle they sing at you when you go into Gems’R’Us in the big cities… the pseudo-dwarven fake-and-costume gem store chain.

She realises the next verse could actually be seen as rather racist, and stopes short, before that particular part kicks in… changing to a more acceptable ditty instead, then drifting quickly into silence…

Neth picks up on the sudden silence and begins to sing a sad mariners song, if he can remember one.

He sings a song he can remember from his time sailing in the past.

Stena shakes her head and contributes to the 'what was that thing' conversation with,

"Whatever it was we're going to avoid any sign of anything else like it."

After Lia finally stops singing whatever it is she is quietly singing only to be replaced by Neth's she snaps,

"Shut up. Ye're going to bring unwanted attention to us."

She is also edgy from all the talk about the giant horror and on high alert, straining her eyes in the darkness and disappearing from sight.

Perception: 21

Neth reveals a perhaps surprisingly fine singing voice, only to be shushed by Stena, who then vanishes.

During his shift in the front, Buppido approaches Ranador and is conversing quietly. The drow kid seems wary, but eventually thaws a bit to Buppido's grin, and follows him to the front of the boat, where the derro resumes watch for submerged dangers, pointing things out to the elf as the boat moves onward.

The rest of the day passes fairly uneventfully, any other fungus groves that Stena opts to stop at don't pan out with anything edible, but she doesn't lose Lia, and they don't get attacked. The travel through the dark has started to sap people's alertness, but Stena spots a likely place to dock the boat for rest.

Galingal watches Stena disappear in the darkness again.

"That will be useful," Galingal says when he next sees Stena appear.

Before he can say more he is distracted by Buppido's interest in Ranador. He watches the derro closely, remembering the twins again.

Insight (to try and determine if Buppido is just being friendly or if he's hiding something about his intentions to Ranador): 21  

He helps get the boat anchored at the end of the 'day'. 

Buppy seems to be showing the kid what to watch out for, seemingly so he could also take watch at the prow of the ship.

Stena glares, unseen, at Buppy. Once they dock for the night she'll swing back to the Ranador and quietly remind him,

"The derro isn't to be trusted, don't ever go anywhere alone with him. Or the tiefling. If either of them ask ye, let meh or Galingal know."

She pauses and then adds,

"Good job today keeping watch, keep it up."

She waits a bit then more hesitantly asks,

"What would ye like to do once we find someplace safe? Aye imagine we can find ye a caravan to a drow settlement..."

Galingal only gets a nod on his observation,  Stena haven't not realized she forgotten to be visible.

"We should keep double watches. Aye can be with the tiefling or derro."

The child shrinks back as Stena appears to warn him. He looks suspiciously at Galingal as well as Buppy and Neth.

"Why? I just wanted to help, and Mister Buppido told me how to watch out for stuff."

"I... I don't know. No where's safe. I've not lived with drow for years, I don't know if I'd know how to be a drow. I don't even remember how to talk drow good."

Galingal watches Stena with the boy but doesn't get involved. He has nothing against Ranador and would not go out of his way to hurt him but he's not sure he understands Stena's attachment already. The child is a stranger.

"I watch with Buppido," Galingal says and then adds to Stena. "You with Neth. Lia watch own, Jimjar watch own."

He looks over at Lia as they settle in for the night. 

"Maybe no singing near shore."

Though, Galingal can take two watches in the night, he does not want to advertise that. He will however, quietly, be alert for one of the other watches, keeping an eye on Buppido. (If Galingal takes first watch with Buppido, he would also be quietly alert for the last watch as well).

To Ranador,

"Mister Buppido has a history of trying to hurt children. Ye got to be wary of him. Galingal is a... fanatic but won't hurt ye. Neth is up to something.

Ye can stay with us if ye like, from my understanding drow society is...harsh. Especially without a family connection,  which is something that I understand.  Ye don't need to make a decision now, just think about what ye want."

((Stena is stating her suspicions as facts. You need any rolls for that?))

To Galingal,

"Aye can take the watch with Neth."

She stares at Neth as she says that.

She'll spend her watch invisible.

((Sure, persuasion?))

Neth let’s put a long sigh and takes his watch away from the rails of the boat.
