Ranador nods and seems to withdraw into himself even more with Stena's warning. The rest of your day passes uneventfully, everyone is awake and ready to go.
Buppido speaks at length, with Jimjar translating.
"It takes at least three people to crew the boat if we're rowing, could do two shifts that alternate. Or one person could manage the wheel if we're going with the current and just floating. Might get us further in a day than sitting at anchor for most of the day?"

"Generally in the right direction, most of the time. Might be able to add a few miles between rests, get there sooner."
((Mechanically, boat needs 3 crew if you're rowing/punting, 2 on oars and one at the wheel. A 4th serving as lookout can help with approaching hazards, but isn't strictly necessary. Going past an 8 hour shift puts you in danger of making mistakes, getting tired, etc. But you have 7 people, so could run two 3 person crews and potentially travel for 16 hours a day, instead of traveling for 8 and anchoring to wait out the remaining 16 hours. A fully crewed vessel could potentially travel continuously, if it were of a size able to hold enough crew to take three shifts. If the boat is allowed to drift with the current, it makes less speed, but is 'passive' movement, not requiring a crew, but a lookout and someone at the wheel would be advisable, to limit collisions. You are currently breaking up your day with foraging excursions, so you're ending up not spending a full 16 at anchor, but generally speaking are only spending a third of your day moving toward your destination.))

Galingal nods in agreement and suggests two 6 hours shifts of rowing so they can spend 4 hours foraging and provide some time for rest and eating. If they double watch in the evening for at least 3 of the watches (Galingal can take 2 watches), they could drift then with one steering and one acting as lookout (maybe less likely for something to sneak up on them too if they're moving).
Lia agrees with the plan, but acknowledges that she’s not the expert on such things, but happy to muck in and take her turn.
With her jack of all trades class skill, people might notice that she’s quietly becoming more competent at whatever she turns her hand to.
She is happy to sing a Song of Rest if needed for healing or morale, and will happily beat time for the oars when she takes a turn, but it’s noticeable that she’s becoming quieter as the voyage goes on.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Same reason you've got none. I live down here, you're just a visitor.". Buppido replies.
Ranador flinches at Stena's smile, but nods his head. "I can watch."
The previous days easy travel gets a bit harder today, as your passage forward is confronted by a low ceiling. The dugouts the KTs employed would be able to pass under easily, but with the low point of the ceiling a mere three feet above the water, there's no way to get the houseboat under without demolishing the house part.
Buppido scratches at his beard before shrugging, and steering to backtrack and seek another passage.
((Any particular teams? Buppido and Jimjar are driving, Buppy taking first and Jimjar second.))
After a bit of backtracking, you find yourselves on a way forward gain.

Lia would gravitate towards Neth for teams and work and watches I’d think, but she’s easy if anyone else pulls her in particular, or has a reason to rearrange the teams in another way.
Buppido responds to Stena with a smile. "Maybe he didn't grow up around the Darklake. Maybe you should just be happy that I know my way around and am willing to help the rest of you, rather than just leaving you to figure it out or die. Maybe you don't know half what you think you know."
The timely warning from Ranador gets the rest of you in position to fend the boat off from the jagged rocks that emerge from the rapidly moving water. Just as the boat slows as it moves into a large pool, a finned creature with a protruding toothy maw breaks the surface and is moving towards your boat.
((Big boy rolled a 3 on his stealth, so you all see him, and can roll initiative! If you're above a 7, go ahead and post, his ambush is not working out... you didn't break up on the rocks, and then noticed his slow fish butt moving in...))

Stena agrees with Galingal's assessment but ask Buppido, suspiciously,
"Why do ye have do much experience navigating the Darklake?"
And knowing that it helps one's selfworth to be helpful and provide something of value, she asks Ranador,
"Would ye like to keep acting as lookout? We'd appreciate yer sharp eyes up there looking for obstacles and trouble."
She gives the elf boy an encouraging smile.
