As the guard falls to their onslaught, Daventry exhales a sigh of relief. "Cathbad, you alright? You took a beating there. Was hoping to lure 'em both to me before springin' our trap."
She nods to Pardot. "Go get our new paladin friend out... and let's see if they kept our gear close by."
She begins to look over the guards for keys, as well as checking their weapons. Then she'll move to the room to the south to check it out for their gear.

(Daventry's attacks were way more than needed to kill this poor snake person. All he ever wanted was mass genocide... )
Daventry's whip wraps around the creatures neck and perhaps inspired by Gunnar's call from his cell she pulls sharply. The lizard's tissue was not meant to with stand this type of force and it's head pops right off it's neck. Black blood sprays everywhere, tarnishing poor Daventry's white dress.
You are out of combat. Good Job.
Ludolf looks quickly over the bodies and finds a small key in a pouch at the first guard's belt. They each have a dagger that is unremarkable outside of being very sharp. The other guard also carries a pouch. It which has a pair of dice and 22 gold pieces.
The door to the south opens easily and reveals a simple guard's room. The room contains a small table and two chairs, a weapon rack, and a locked cabinet. A tin plate on the table holds a half-eaten chunk of tough, green-tinged meat. On top of the locked cabinet sits Daventry's hat.
Cathbad looks wearily at Daventry and smiles, "Well that was rather awful. In the future I will try to not let them bite and stab me. As for your plan," He shurgs, "I thought I'd improvise... Is there any wine in there?" He looks hopefully at the table but turns away from the meat.
Down the hall Gunnar yells, "Hey, Why is it so quiet. Did you kill them all? Hey! C'mon I don't want to miss all the fighting. I got some heads to rip off." Another heavy slam against the door.

Assuming Pardot is on his way to let out the impatient prisoner, Ludolf hands the dagger and the gold to Daventry and steps over to the cabinet in the guard room and hopes the key he found opens it and that it will hold the team's gear.
Pardot nods, and quickly goes over to let the loud man out of his cell in the next room saying quietly, "Try not to call any more of them to here. Come with us."He then goes back into the room and says, "Let's check the others room to see what we can find," pointing towards the door to the south.
As Ludolf approaches the cabinet with his key, Daventry moves to Cathbad. "Well, it's only a BIT of a stab. Here, let me see..."
She places a hand on the wound and closes her eyes, and the skin around the wound seems to shimmer and knit back together. It's not like he was never stabbed, but what if he was just nicked instead?
Pardot throws the heavy beam from the door and opens it. The man behind the door is a very large. At least 6'8" and nothing but muscle this blonde haired specimen of a man looks down at Pardot with surprise . "Ah! Well then my new, small friend. Did you save any snakes for me or kill them all yourself?" Gunnar's eyes narrow at Pardot "Wait.... are you one of them? They are very clever and can assume any form.... Prove your a man and not a snake!!"Gunnar takes a defensive posture as he awaits Pardot's proof. You notice the same magebrand on the palms of both his hands.
Ludolf slides the small key into the lock along the chest, a slight click and the door swings free. A welcome sight is before you as all of your equipment and belongs are here and intact. In addition to your belongings there are a number of other items. There is a very large set of gold and silver plate with a matching shield and longsword, a rapier with a purple grip, a light cross bow with a 20 bolts, a shortsword with a purple gem embedded in the hilt a shortbow and ammunition, a scimitar, a jug and a battleaxe.
Cathbad, bloodied and bruised, limps over to the chest. "Oh thank god!" He picks up the scimitar and straps it to his side and then eagerly grabs the jug and mutters, "Wine" and begins to chug heavily from the container. "Anyone need a drink?"
"That is much better. It seems I am again in your debt m'lady. Care for some wine?" He passes the jug to Daventry.
Daventry takes a swig of wine with a grateful grin. "Gladly." She hands back the jug, feeling rejuvenated, and the rest of you notice a momentary lustre to her skin.
(Recovered a level 2 smite slot with Harness Divine Power)
Seeing her gear, she quickly slides on her leathers over her ruined silk dress, and straps her own sword back to her belt. She looks over the purple-hilted rapier and short sword, picking both up and giving a few test swings to see how they compare to her own blade.
"I'm guessin' the plate and heavy blade belong to your paladin... Who we should probably stuff into his tin can as quick as possible. The rest of the gear... I imagine it all belonged to your friends... I'm sorry to be crass, but anything magic in the lot that will give us an edge to get out of here alive?"
(Anything not claimed by someone goes in to the bag of holding...)
"It is good that you are cautious. Follow me and hopefully you'll have the proof you need,"Pardot says as he leads back towards the others, where he sees them all equipping themselves. Taking a big swig of wine himself he then follows suit and quickly finds his own gear and immediately feels a sense of calm connecting with his star map again.
Triäsa is unharmed after this confrontation. She follows Ludolf in opening up the chest with their equipment in it. She grabs her lute first, strumming the strings, frowning a bit, making some adjustments, then seeming content. She then sets it aside to retrieve the rest of her belongings. Grabbing ger clothes she pauses a moment, seeing Daventry don her armor over the strange silk garment. After a bit of hesitation she calls out, "Ok, everyone avert your eyes a moment." Trusting they will, she quickly takes off the garment and puts on her blouse, then pants, and the rest. "Ok," she says, feeling a bit better with her own clothing on again.
She again picks up her lute, playing a few chords, the sound seeming to bring a smile to her face. She then slings it over her shoulder, ready to move on. She comes over to where Daventry is going through the other items. "If there is something worth checking out I could use a spell. But I imagine we should move along soon. Where to now? To the south? Or see where that other passage goes?"
Ludolf lets out a small sigh of relief as he sees the team's gear inside the chest, smiling at Triäsa as she strums the strings of her lute and with some reluctance he politely averts his eyes as the young half-elven bard starts to change attire. Ludolf too turns away to slip out of the disturbing sacrificial garment and into his three-piece suit, quickly checking on all his gear before giving Daventry a nod to show he is ready to move on. "Having retrieved our equipment I assume we should simply try to find a way out of this place?"He says, glancing over at the mummified cat. "Perhaps we have a better chance of avoiding confontation and discovery if we use the passage through the steam vent?" He suggests, ready to follow Daventry the way she would choose.
Daventry shakes her head as the others change. "Barefoot escaping prisoner is the new fashion, don't ya know?" She puts her nice hat into the bag of holding along with her clothes, just wearing the practical bits of armor and gear.
"We should quickly barricade this door and slip through the grate. That will buy us the most time if someone comes looking."
Gunnar look skeptically at Pardot, "If I had alot of choices I think I'd be even more hesitant. I swear any of you go shedding your skin I'll rip your head right off!"Reluctantly he follows to the guard room. Still not entirely sure of you all he relaxes just a bit as he sees the armor and sword. As Daventry guessed the plate, sword and shield belong to Gunnar who straps it on as quickly as he can.
Pardot -- On your way back to the guard room you look through the window in the door of the last cell. It is empty (A4).
Cathbad looks at the other gear you don't claim and mutters, "That's the rest of the crews. Maxx, Vitya, Sarai, Shorty... None of it is magical per say, but they are deadly enough with it if they are still alive."He continues to drink very heavily from the jug. "If you can bring it with."
Dandelion saunters back to the torture room and sticks head back into the vent, "So this way then? Let's try to be quiet." She looks very skeptically at Gunnar who seems oblivious to her intention. "Remember, we are not hear to liberate the masses. The only mission is to get you out of here safely..."
Gunnar leans down, "Gonna be a tight fit. I don't see why we don't just smash our way out. Can't be that many of them. I ripped the head off at least 5 of them before that old man arrived..."
Unless there is anything else; one by one you crawl into the steam vent. It's a tight fit and Gunnar curses and mutters the entire time. It doesn't take long until you get to a larger circular room. The air here is a bit lighter and in the more open space the heat dissipates just a bit. You check your surroundings and catch your breath before continuing down the steam tunnel. From here the heat gets almost unbearable and sweat pours from your skin. Daventry and Gunnar struggles to continue under the weight and heat of their heavy armor. Crawling forward, slowly another 50 feet from the circular room you come to a vent similar to the one entered from.
Who is in the lead? You are crawling down the tunnel in a single file.

Daventry nods to Cathbad, and slides all of his companions' gear into the bag, save the shortbow, crossbow, and respective ammunition, which she gives to Cathbad and Gunnar.
She nods to Gunnar as he makes his comment. "Aye, and it'll suck getting through the steam. But we don't want that old man to put us right back in our cells, so let's keep a low profile."
She slides the table and chairs to block the door, before going into the tunnel, leading the group. "Last one in, close the grate behind you, and hopefully they won't know where we went."
She takes the strip of white cloth she attempted to cast Aid with, and uses it instead to tie her hair back, sweat beading on her brow.
Daventry crawls forward through the next steamvent, sweating heavily, until she reaches the next vent.
Peering through, she pauses a moment, taking in the scene.
She whispers to Gunnar, the next person in line. "Right. Three critters in there, including the lizard causing all the steam. We've found our way to... a lava vent? Shit. Where in the nine hells are we? Anyway, important bits - there's a salamander pouring water on the lava to make steam, and two little critters taking a magma bath. Pass it on that fire'll be bad, ice good. When we're ready I'll pry open this grate and hold them at bay until we can get everyone up and out."
She stares at the creatures, trying to figure out what they are, and what other information she can pass to her friends to set up for success.
