Taking a step to the side to get a better angle, Pardot quickly loads and flings a stone towards the cluster of books floating through the air. This ‘creature’ being something he has no idea about, as it’s far from natural.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As Daventry continues to struggle under the weight of the furniture Triäsa stabs forward with her shortsword cutting a number of the tomes in half however her dagger slides harmlessly through the air. Ludolf's bolts of magic drop a number of the books to ground, they smolder with an eerie red glow that fades as they hit the ground. Taking his lead from Triäsa Klin chops at the books severing spine from pages however his punch goes wide. Finally Pardot's magic stone strikes a tome and richocet's off a few more dropping the number of creatures significantly.
Only a few books remain in the air but they show the valor of knights riding into battle and advance toward the monk. They swarm about his head and chest moving with an odd grace. The grace turns violent as the remaining books close and start beating poor Klin over the head,
Book Club Attack!! 15 Book Club Damage: 3
(As an aside when swarms are occupying the same square as a PC I figure you are all adept enough with your abilities you won't hit the swarmed PC. Unless you crit fail then the swarmed PC will take 1/2 damage I know thats not 100% RAW so let me know if anyone has an issue with it)
Sliding out from the bookcase, gritting her teeth, the young woman climbs up to her feet and shakes off the feeling of being crushed. Assuming she can make the sprint, she'll rush to Klin's aid and slice at the books with her rapier.
Attack (rapier, booming blade): 14 Damage: 6
Booming Blade on Move: 8
OOC: If she can't close the gap due to having only 15 feet of move from standing up, she'll chuck a dagger at it for 9 damage instead of the rapier damage, and won't have the booming blade effect.

Seeing the swarm of books go after Klin, Triäsa tries to carefully place her blows this time around. She leads with her shortsword, then tries to slip in an attack with her dagger.

Freeing yourself would be your action that turn though you would be able to stand and get close enough for next if it mattered (which it does not)

Ludolf again blasts the swarm of books with his piercing grey eyes. Eldritch blast:15 Damage Force:9 + Necrotic:1 He then tries to telekinetically push the swarm of books away from Klin. (Bonus action save str 15)
The onslaught against the books continues and the group drops more of the constructs until just a handful remain. Ludolf fixes his gaze at the last of them concentrating his energy and the old Gods. The worn pages and bindings turn to grey then black then to dust as the final tomes are obliterated under his gaze.
You all find yourselves standing in a room of chaos. There is furniture overturned, slashed and torn pages strewn about the room and in struts Pockets who confidently walks through the chaos without a care in the world. She finds a comfortable spot on top of a nest of pages and books. She ducks her head low and arches her back high in the sky before lying down and falling asleep after an exhausting walk across the room.

"Are you all right?" Ludolf asks Daventry and Klin, uncharacteristically caring before turning his attention to the books. "What a waste." He says looking over the carnage of books. Investigation to find the book with the letter and any other interesting books in the chaos:19
Triäsa looks relieved as the book swarm ends. She echoes Ludolf's question. "Yes, are you both alright?"
As she sees they are not hurt, she turns her attention to the books. First, she looks at the now damaged books, curious whether they seem to have been actual ordinary books or something created specifically by... well, whatever animated them. (Investigaton: 13)
Only after does she briefly peruse through the rest. (Investigation: 15)
Seeing that Ludolf appeared to find something she says, "Another letter? What did we find this time?"
The books in this room are numerous but of a mundane nature. They seem to mostly related to the arts as there are many tomes about music, art, nature and literature (that's right, books about books). They range from instructional to biographical in nature. There is another section which contains books about history and a small section that seems to include books designed improve ones' self esteem one of these is entitled, "Magical Me."
The book on the far end of the room is embossed with the letter R and bears the face of Mordenkainen.
Finally Triäsa finds a letter opener on a desk which is very nice with jewels embedded in it.

"An R, we found an R young Triäsa. Four letters to go." Ludolf answers the half-elven bard. He then checks the author of the "Magical Me" before turning to the others. "Shall we continue? There should be a planetarium somewhere." He says, motioning to Daventry to proceed to the next room. Perception when needed:4 Arcana to know a lot of stuff about Mordenkainen:19
Seeing nothing else of interest, Triäsa focuses on on the letter opener. She picks it up to examine it as she muses, "So now we have 'I', 'B', and 'R' for letters..."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Daventry brushes dust off her tunic, cracks her knuckles, and prepares to head to the next room. "Right, if another set of books tries to murder me, might just burn the building down."
Looking at the letter opener you note that is of very fine quality and has a number of precious jewels embedded in the handle. Along the blade is engraved, "To open our letters as you opened my mind. ~y"
The Magical Me book appears to be written by a Tatum Chanin you are not aware of any other works or notable facts about him. He seemed to drop into obscurity after this work.
The last door on this level is at the end of the hallway opening it reveals a well maintained porch that is outside the house and uncovered. It overlooks the swirling purple miasma that the mansion is floating. It's cold outside, there is no wind or clouds and the stars brightly light the area around you. There are two chairs with foot rests and a small table between them.
Generally you know that Mordenkainen was the leader of a very powerful band of wizards. His spells and works are widely sought after. His group was destroyed Vecna as she tried to ascended as deity and he disappeared shortly after though he is known to have survived Vecna's assault
